I had the TV on last night as I was working and a show came on with women debating on weather or not someone can be fat and healthy. I think someone who is a bit over weight they can still be healthy. However if you become significantly over weight you are going to have problems. What do you think?

I agree on what you have shared. Not all we physically see in a person do detects the healthiness of a person. There are slim people who are not healthy biologically and some fat people under chubby type one who are biologically healthy. Any excess or above normal conditions like the level obesity can give possible illnesses depending on the acquired traits and his inherited traits. Same with those who are of normal weight, or even below normal weight can have health problems and factors that inhibits him towards a healthy life. All of these, greatly depends on one's personal lifestyle. If he is into healthy lifestyle, her conditions can be adjusted in making him fit. But, if the lifestyle is unhealthy then the effect will be definitely all lead to unhealthy life.

I have a sister in law who is very unhealthy, and she is quite thin. Some of her choices are not healthy, and some of it is due to past injuries. All together, she is very thin, and very ill right now.

fat and healthy cannot be together for longer. Being fat will invite lot of problems. I would prefer not to be fat for the same reason. I always keep a track of my weight and do not allow to gain beyond some number :)

Yes keeping regular track of one's weight really helps in being slim and fit. If one has a tendency to gain weight and does not keep a check on it then soon that person will find extra fat in his/her body ready to attract several diseases and also hormonal problems for girls!

Your health depends on where you carry your fat. I will reverse this a bit and say you can be thin and be unhealthy. You can even give all external appearances of thinness and have visceral fat, that is fat wrapped around your internal organs. That is when you have serious health issues. I liked a series of books by a gentleman named Covert Bailey. They were all on the subject of Fit or Fat, and he discussed this issue quite a bit. I would prefer to have less fat outside, and I KNOW I need less fat inside. I do not think I had gotten fat inside until the last two or three years. I had never had high cholesterol until last year. Even then, it was not dangerously high, just higher than I wanted it to be.

I have had lucky fat. I carry most of my weight in my rear end which is not as harmful. I started noticing it creeping in to my mid section over the last couple years, but I have always had a small waist, so when I started to gain weight there I started to get serious about getting rid of it. I have lost 15 pounds, and I hope to lose ten more, then I will be fine. I don't care if I am super skinny, I just want to be healthy.

As long as the being fat still on the acceptable form of being healthy and not so overweight like just having a chubby body or cute tummy. Since, being fat at the maximum levels attract lots of disease it is consider a case of malnutrition in which the intake of food is abnormal and in order to be healthy one need to follow the pyramid of food, the go, glow and grow food to obtain maximum health.

Very true, it is hard to be super skinny, and a few extra pounds are no bid deal, as long as the heart is health.

In the biblical Hebrew, the word for 'healthy' also means 'fat'. I think that a little chubbiness is healthy, but obese is a life endanger.

Healthy does not mean FAT at all. It means you don't have any kind of disease like High blood pressure, diabetes etc which are very common. Since you are immune to all such diseases you are called healthy which does not mean you are FAT!! Of course obese people will always suffer because of the extra fat in their body. There are people who exercise daily but still remain FAT but of course they are healthy because they do regular exercise. So what if they don't lose weight, they are Healthy!!

I think somebody can be overweight and heavy, but if they are obese the chances of being healthy are less.

That's funny... I was watching the same program. I just happened to have the tv on that channel and that show came on. I think you can be a little overweight and still be healthy. But, I think the more weight you add, the worse you start to feel. I weigh the most I ever have and I can definitely feel it. My body hurts in weird places sometimes. My feet really hurt. I also have acid reflux which I think would go away if I lost some weight. I think people should try to maintain a healthy weight. I don't think somebody should be overly skinny either. I think that would cause problems as well.

i dont know but i guess for me fat is not healthy as they are prone to risk like high blood, diabetes, and other kind of illness due to over weight. some of them think they are healthy in a way that they didnt feel anything but im talking about the risk factor attributes of being fat so its not really healthy at all. if they cant help to lose weight or control their weight then exercise daily is the best and choose the right food.

Well, it's not the same thing to be fat than to be obese. Having a bit of extra fat doesn't mean that you're not healthy, and that extra fat isn't a risk for the body. However, when that extra fat stops being a little and turns massive, that's when it becomes a risk for the body, I mean, being obese. Nowadays as is more common to be fat, people think that the limit for obesity is higher than it actually is, so it's better to be careful with someone's weight if you want to be healthy.

Yeah I have to agree with you. One of my old mentor with wished me to healthy. He said, "Health is wealth my only wish for you may be healthy". He explained me to be a fatty is good health but a sound body and mind with workforce is must good health. Now I realized that he was quite right.
