If i am ever asked how heavy i am, i usually say about 9 stone.Even when they ask at the drs and the hospital i say 9 stone.Well i was shocked to find that i weigh now 8 and a half stone.I am pleased that i have lost rather than gained weight, but each time my weight changes i have to tell my dr as the medication has to be altered.

Hi jugsjugs, I have to admit that I am obsessed with my scales. I know what they say, that you should not weigh yourself everyday, but I don't listen. I weigh myself every single day, because when I don't, I notice that my gaining weigh gets out of control. If I see (what I call the 3lbs danger zone) that I have gained as little as three pounds, then I get a little stricter with cutting out the junk food for awhile. I never consider myself on a diet, because I don't want to be controlled by any certain way to eat or what to eat. I just eat what I like and I let the scales be my diet guru.

I do not really think about my weight as i know that with no being able to do any exercice the weight will just pile on.The scales just happen to come out and i thought that i would have a stand on them like you do,it was good that i had lost rather than gained. At the hospital i have had my weight checked and i have lost yet another quarter of a stone,so that was a bonus in one way,but i can not work out how i have lost more weight again.

Hi jugsjugs, I hope all is well with you. I do this scales daily because I love to eat and hate to exercise to burn it off, so that is my one way of controling my weight. The three pound danger zone is what check my weight in check.

They put me on the scales at the hospital and i now weigh quarter of a stone less,so now i have a lower dose of meds, which is great until i gain the weight again.

Congrats on losing the weight! That's the best way to lose weight - without knowing you have done so as it's not as much work!

How much is a stone? Fourteen pounds isn't it? So gained three or four pounds is not that much. I think you have a high metabolism and whatever else is going on in your body. Are you underweight or are you just worried on a personal level as to how much you have lost?

My meds made me ill that they tried to put in through a drip, when i say ill they made me not want to eat as food made me sick,so that is why some of the weight i have lost i can account for,but i am sure that it would not make me lose that much.I have since lost another quarter of a stone, aswell.

Congratulations on losing weight and not even knowing it! That is the best way. It is a pleasant surprise! I have been trying to lose weight all of my life. I am not heavy, but I have difficulty walking and have to pull myself around with my arms. The less I weigh the easier it is. I used to get weighed every day. Sometimes my weight would fluxuate 3 pounds in just one day. Now I just get weighed once a week, and it is not as frustrating! It seems like I hit a certain weight and then the next time I weigh myself, it has gone up a few pounds. It's like my scale doesn't go below a certain weight! This week was my birthday and it seems all I did was eat. I am sure when I get on the scale again it will have gone up quite a lot.

I still try to exercise but can only do certain things now. I used to do aerobics but that is out of the question now. I do a lot of sit ups and push ups and use hand weights, things that I can do lying or sitting down. The therapist gave me some exercises that I can do as well. I am not sure what is wrong with me, but so far the only thing the doctors seem to agree on is that exercise is the only thing slowing down the degeneration of my body.

I think it is dreadful for any women to have to speak about their weight and or stand on a scale in front of anyone, no matter what size we are. I believe it has to do with something stuck in our mind. Good Luck to you with your medications. Hope all is well.

Thank you.I had to laugh when i saw i had lost half a stone as i have not been able to stand much let alone walk to be able to lose the weight. My diet has not changed so i can not think why or how i have lost anything,as i would have thought that i would have put it on.

I am pleased that you have lost a half a stone. Is that about 8 pounds? That is very good. I am also glad you realize the importance of keeping the doctor informed about your weight changes.

I'm so glad to hear that you've managed to stay within your desired weight! Nowadays with all the goodies and temptations out there that can be a hard thing to do. Years ago I learned not to weigh myself from an article I read on weight loss. I have since learned to go by how my clothes fit, how I feel in my clothes and what weight I feel comfortable with. If I told you how tall I am and how much I weigh you would probably think I was incredibly overweight. In fact, I get a real kick out of telling people how much I weigh and they give me a dumbfounded look and say, "That can't be!" I'm 5'7" and weigh nearly 200 pounds and yet I am not fat. I'm very slender and fit very well into all of my clothes. So, you ask, how can this be?? LOL! Well, first of all I'm big boned and have been very strong ever since I was a child. Also, as an adult I joined a gym at one point in my life and worked out with free weights and weight machines. I did this for over a year, 3 to 4 hours a day, 6 days a week. This whole time I only lost 5 pounds of fat, but, I gained about 60 pounds of muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, yet, muscle is leaner and looks tighter on your body. To this day (many, many years later) I still have much of the muscle tone even though it's been over 20 years since I worked out! I tell women all the time that the best thing you can do for yourself is lift weights. It really slims and firms your body up and even though you may weigh more from the muscle gain your body looks very good! So many women are afraid of building muscles. I keep telling them that there is a way you can lift weights where you don't have to look like a body builder at all. Just tighten and firm up your body. Have a great day! good for you if you lost 1/2 stone... the last time i enjoyed standing at the scales was ten years ago when i was 20 lbs lighter that what i am now. I wanted to lose weight but with all the things that i have to do first, i always forgets my personal goal. I wish I can say the same thing about looking at the scales the way you do.

That’s great! I am envious! I know I’ve gained weight lately and I purposely have not jumped on scales because I’m afraid of what they will tell me! I know I will be surprised too but not pleasantly! It is good you haven’t gained any weight as long as you’re careful not to lose too much. Weight loss almost always pleases women as long as it’s not too extreme...Take care of yourself...

Congratulations to you on the loss of weight, you must be very happy about that. However, I can see where it would be a pain in your butt to lose the weight as well because of having to have your medication doses altered. I think that there is a range of weight through which certain dosages are correct, so when you talk to your doctor, you might want to check with them and find out how much fluctuation you need to have in your weight to warrant your medication dosages being altered.

Hi Jugsjugs!. Gees I don't know how many kilos is One stone. Here we use kilograms. I think its fun to loose weight especially if you don't have to work hard to loose it. At least now you can take less medicine to consume.

I don't know how many kilogram is a stone. I have always had this weigh problem. I loose two kilograms, then gain three kilograms, I loose four kilograms then in another two months I gain three kilograms. Just like that all the time.

Hi jugs, I don't know actually how heavy a single stone is. Thanks for giving me such opportunity to brush up this measure of weight which is abandoned for long after using the unit of measure of lb and kg. After doing the net searching I come to know a stone is equal to 14 lbs or 6.35 kg approximately Here in my place gm and kg are the units of measure in trading. We are not allowed to use stone and lb for measuring unites in trading in any market. I do dislike to gain weight as well. It's always much healthier to have the appropriate weight to match the height. Anyway it's nice for you to inform the doctor about the gain or loss of your weight so that the doctor could give the right medication according to the health situation Take care and have a nice day

I do not regularly check my weight. But my weight does fluctuate a lot. I am not sure what is the reason. I have never been able to maintain a steady weight. Dont know if it is because of my good habits or lack of exercise. I have not checked my weight for a long long time now but my trousers are getting tighter day by day.

It was 3 years ago I really gained weight. And what i get from a Christmas present from a friend is a weighing scale. And I am very conscious to what I eat since then. I adjusted to my way of life. I exercise everyday, dancing and walking. Having a tea after dinner is so nice. I maintained my 49-50kgs until I get pregnant last year and now my weight is still ok. As we grow older near or late 30's or even earlier we must be conscious about our health so we need not to worry for the years ahead. Happy myLotting!!!

I try to not eat all those fatty foods and just tend to treat myself once a week.I am trying to keep the weight off as i am unable to exercise at all.I think that there must be a way that i lost the weight to begin with, maybe it was through worry, but i think that when we feel worried or stressed we seem to comfort eat.I have also lost another quarter of a stone and i can not work that out either.

I am pleased that i have lost the weight,as i would not have known if i had not stepped on the scales.I think that it was a nice shock rather than the one of putting on the weight. At least i know why one pair of my jeans feel lose now.I have now lost yet another quarter of a stone. The best thing is not having to do anything tpo lose the weight.
