SOme of you will remember back in June when I had a run in with the cell company. I had had a fiasco with the land line type phone company and had decided to go with the cell phone. Had never had one and thought that I would go ahead and trying it out plus I got a USB port so I could get internet. When I set it up I made it clear to the guy that I wanted one account. He said he couldn't do it then but when I got the product I needed to activate one of them and then call him and he could put it all on one account at that time. When I got them I activated one and called him . He wasn't there so i talked to another gal who told me the amount of GB's I had on the USB port and all the ins and outs and supposedly put it one account. Anyway, I had a certain amount of minutes and it just turned out that my granddaughter was using way too many minutes and I just didn't care for the plan. SO, I go back to the store and take their products back to them within the 30 day time limit so I don't owe the large amount they are going to charge you if you quit. The gal that helped me took forever to figure up my bill and apologized a couple of times because it was taking so long. I told her that was okay, just be sure to figure it all correctly and give me the FINAL BILL. Right? After two and a half hours she brings me the total. She has me even write out four different check so that each of them would go to the right place and all would be right. Fine, I did that. Okay, so that all I owe, thanks for your business and I leave the store thinking that chapter of my life is over and I will go back to cable like I had before and was totally devoid of any problems. The next month I get a bill from the cell company. Hmm? Probably just cycling through and I just ignore it. Next month I get another one. I set there and went over it, could make no sense out of it. I figured on a sheet of paper what each months service amount would be, added the restocking fee and even added twenty or so for those extra fees they always add on, and I go into the local 'store' and talked to the same gal and then the manager. He has his little notebook on his lap and goes over the two bills and looked at the bill online as well like he is seeing if they match. At one point I run through the list on the sheet and the total I have come up with. I ask him: Why is there an extra charge when I have added it all and what I have as a total is even LESS than what I actually payed that day when I brought the product back to you people and payed the FINAL BILL. He looked at the addition I had done, looked over the bills and said he honestly did not see a reason for the bill either. So he said what he was going to do was bring my balance to zero on my account, there would be no collections or anything. He showed me what he had done on his computer and told me if I had any problems or questions to come back and talk to HIM. So, I left thinking this was the end of it. Next month, yep you're right- I get another bill! So, this time I call the local store and talk to some girl that looks it up and says, nope, zero balance, Dont know why you would get that bill again. I asked her if she was sure. Oh yes, zero balance right there in front of her. So I hang up thinking it must just be that cycling thing and I just have to ignore the bills until it cycles through. Then the NEXT MONTH I get a YOU ARE WAY PAST DUE bill and I call the 800 number. Talk to a guy that says the same zero balance but he is in one department and he will connect me over to so and so who can check for sure and see if there are some other amount going on. So I hold on the line until this other gal comes on and she goes through and calculates the bill. She says can you hold? Sure. She comes back on and says YES. YOU DO OWE THAT AMOUNT. I told her I want to see an itemized bill showing me why I owe this amount. And I tell her my other experience. She says she will call the local store here and explain the situation and then I can go in the local store and have someone show me the itemization. Ok, fine. So I called the local store today. I just happened to get the guy that the gal had explained every thing to on the phone. I told him I WANT TO TALK TO THE MANAGER THAT ORIGINALLY TOLD ME HE WAS TAKING THE BALANCE TO ZERO AND NOT TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING AND IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS TO COME BACK AND TALK TO HIM. Well, you know what I was told? Ugh, unfortunately he is on VACATION this week but if you come in the store any of us can help you. I told him NO huhuh I WILL WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK THEN WHEN HE GETS BACK FROM VACATION. So, my question to you folks is this: Would you even pay this bill? I want to give this manager guy the riot act and ask him the same question I am asking you. How can I trust them now? Are they scamming me? The only explanation they could give me on what I owe is from when they FINALLY merged the two accounts into one I wasn't billed completely on the one because it supposedly went over to the other account. Well isn't that their mistake? I do not feel that I owe them squat! What are your opinions? I am so enraged over this.

No, he said he couldn't do that. I have receipts stapled onto the checks. But that was a different time. When I took the products back and supposedly got a final bill. I am thinking that is how I will handle. One reason I want to talk to him and one reason I think he is conveniently on vacation. They don't want me to talk to him. Just how I feel.

hi my opinion is that you should put this down on paper, find your local better business bureau and also write down all the pertinent stuff address of company, and names of the people who led you down the primrose path and how you could not get any sense out of any of them. could be you are being scammed. go see the BBB as soon as you can. lol

I don't know what to tell you. I have avoided a cell phone, other than a tracfone, as that is what works for us. I would be upset, and I would see what agency would handle that, like maybe the BBB or FTC.

Oh wow, well I am really glad that you got all that taken care of but that was a lot of bullhockey to deal with! I would be really irritated with them and yeah I don't blame you for wanting to talk to the orginal manager who put your balance to zero as he's the one that told you originally all would be fine after that!

And after the third bill I got saying otherwise and wanting to charge me x # of 's I called the local office and they said that that sure was weird because they showed me at zero balance. So I decided to expadite things(Ya right!) and call Corp. Customer Service. In talking to the lady there she said, no, that I actually did owe money. That they had never merged both bills and had me on the wrong program. No, No, No!! She even called the local office and told the manager on duty that day what was going on and what I owed. I went in the office the next day and the manager explained it all to me. No, No, No!! I owe zero! I told them I wanted to talk to the original manager that had desiphered the whole thing for me two and a half months ago! He was on vacation. So I went home telling them I would come back when he was on duty. And I did! I explained who I was and the fiaco, even had all my bills and explanation of the wrong account with me and that he had brought my account to zero but for some reason it doesn't show and I keep getting the bill. He took his own good time and did bring my account to zero again. I haven't recieved a bill from them since. Thank God! Do you see why I don't get another cell phone? I am still recover from my first and only experience with what I thought was the best of the best of cell phone companies!!

I think it is too. The manager didn't seem to really delve into the bills that deeply. I remember it was busy and I really think he was just appeasing me so he could get back to the other customers. I don't know but I am very upset and I will not let it lie. One tells me all is ok and then the other comes up with some reason for me to owe money.

I would consider not paying it but the bottom line is that it will appear on your credit report when you least expect it and when it will do the most damage. I too am one of those that have settled for the prepaid plans to avoid just such problems. There are other options available like consumer advocates and such. Hope it turns out alright for you.

I think this is why I am very grateful I went the way of a prepaid phone.. No contracts.. no people.. Ugh.. Wow, thanks for reminding me why I don't need those fancy cell phones either. I don't think I would pay it either.. How can they keep charging you? Why is it your fault if you ask for a FINAL BILL, that their system is not set up to accommodate the customer who no longer wants to be one?

I just can't believe it. I think it will get alot of decisions made when I go talk to the same guy who told me he took it to a zero balance. That will happen some time next week.
