I am going to be a Grandma again.

It has been a really long time since I posted anything new about my son. Most of you know that he spent 8 years in the Army. I wanted to let you all know he was discharged awhile back. The majority of his unit came home safely. He really liked all the welcome home comments people left for him. Thank you. He got married a year ago on 9/11. I have written about my daughter-in-law. She is such a jewel. The new news is: my daughter-in-law just recently announced to the family that she is pregnant. She is going to be a mommy. My son is going to be a daddy and I am going to be a grandma again. This will be my third grandchild. I just love it when the family grows. *doing the happy dance* I will be crocheting a baby blanket for the new addition. What do you do when a new baby comes into your family??

Nice to see you here again - we missed you! I am so happy to hear that your son came home safely and that he is now discharged - it must be a great relief for you. And now, congratulations on becoming a grandma again, it sure is a great feeling! We are up to 4 grandchildren so far and hoping for more to come as our youngest son hasn't started a family yet! It's a great feeling seeing all your grandchildren, watching them grow, teaching them stuff, and there is nothing like having a new baby in the house to see all the love flowing because of that child. Enjoy watching your family grow with great joy - there is no better feeling in this world! I am so happy for you.

I have been a round but not as much as I used to. The last couple of years have been full of activity but in other directions. It is good to see you again. This new baby will be my third grandbaby. It is too early to know if it is a boy or a girl but we will know in May.

Update: Disaster has happened and we have lost the baby. My daughter-in-law had a miscarriage. This is very sad for our family. My son and his wife will try again later. Please keep them in your prayers.

Congratulations my friend. That is very happy news indeed. Are they living close to you. It will be an exciting time for them as they plan for the arrival of the new addition to the family. I sincerely hope that everything goes perfectly for them. I was living in another state when my 3 younger grandkids were born...I was visited during the pregnancies and I visited after the births but I was actually in attendance when my first and only grandson was born.

Ahh, royal my dear friend...how terribly distressing for you and your family. I guess the timing was just not right. I hope your daughter in law is well and that she and your son are coping with this sad event. I'm sending big hugs to you and loving thoughts and I will continue to hold you all in my thoughts. I'm so sorry this has happened.

Wow, my youngest grandchild is 5. I feel like such a newbie grandma when compared to you. I am sure you have this grandma thing down pat.

So you are an Auntie. You have spoiling privileges also. It is similar to being a grandma. Someday, you will be a Great-Auntie. I will celebrate with you when that time comes. As for your purring children, how many and how old??

Halloooo, long time no see. Hm, that reminds me, I want to pack up some of the girls' old things to send to the grandniece... Congratulations! Kewl... I don't expect to be a grandma before I'm at least 65. Maybe I can amuse the kid by making my aches and pains pop or something. :D

It is good to see you also. I have been busy over the past year so I have only posted responses. I have been around but not as out there as I used to be. It sounds like you have some time to practice popping things so you will be ready when the times comes to entertain a grandbaby or two.

I like making new things, usually blankets for the new ones. I like looking for special things to buy, as well. You are lucky if you get to seem them really often. All the best wishes on the new family members.

It is still too early to start any shopping but I am looking forward to doing that. Two of my grandchildren are in Michigan so I don't get to see them a lot but I do talk to them on the phone. I used to be able to spend a lot of time with them but then I moved back to Arizona. This new baby will live within a few miles of me unless I end up moving somewhere. I will make sure the family receives your good wishes for them.

Awwwww that's wonderful royal! Congratulations!! Are you going to spoil the little one? I bet you are!! I know I would if I were in your shoes. Babies are extra special because they're a new life in our world. They're so new to everything and watching them learn and grow is such a unique experience.
