There are loads of new things that they bring out each and every christmas. Each year there are also new colour themes as well.A friend of mine went to a sale that they had on and she got chatting to a few people and they had all this craft stuff for making cards. What my friend did was had a look to see if there were things in it that she knew i would use and bought the lot.She said that she had a great christmas gift for me,also to make some room for the craft stuff she got for me for christmas.

I think that making your own cards is a great idea. We don't send a lot of cards, so seem to carry them over each year- and I probably e-mail more that I send as paper cards. It's also a way to make them more of a personal gift rather than just something bought from a shop. I hope that you really enjoy making them.

I have made a few extra cards and i was glad that i had, as no sooner that i had made them people were wanting them.It is a great way to chill out and relax of an evening. It is also a great stress reliever and helps me to cut down on smoking.

Yes it helps me for not being stressed.

That's a good point on stress. Perhaps I shall try & see if I can get any further with one of my model aircraft. I could certainly do with chilling out a bit.

I wish I had the knowledge of making gifts for Christmas. I had thought about making a scrapbook for my duaghters but I do not have the money to buy the materials to make it with. I also had thought that I might make a quilt for one of them, but I do not sew and I would never be able to finish it. I do plan on having my youngest daughter make some crafts for friends and family for Christmas.

Hiya jugs, You will be busy then won´t you with all those Craft items and ideas that you will get to make different things. Nice to see that you have a Friend who helps you out too. She is able to get what you might not be able to get in one go. Where do you manage to keep all of that up the Loft?

Oh ya thats a great idea. You could also try making greeting cards for your loved ones this christmas. IT does not cost much as you can buy colored paper in bulk alongwith some decorative items. And your cards will be really special since you can personalise them with your messages. So do give it a try. Happy Christmas to you in advance!

I agree that making holiday cards is more personal and it's a fun thing to do. This year I am affraid I won't have the time to do so as I am working on my final paper and I am also working a lot. If you are into crafts, making decorations for your christmas tree is a lot of fun too. You can make stars and angels from scraps of cloth, it's a lot of fun!

Yeah. I buy many of my craft kits at Michael's, Borders, Barnes & Noble and Jo Anne's Fabric Store.

It is a tempting time of year. I just went and bought some fabric to make some hot mats with. I want to use a quilt block pattern. I want to make them as presents. I think you have a very thoughtful friend.

Most of my friends are recycling old used stuffs from last christmas.. haha =D After all, it's only once a year, and it's a waste of money to be buying similar things on a yearly basis. ON top of that, things are getting more expensive every year and so it makes more sense to recyle, reuse.. haha =D Most people here, will prefer to buy ready made gifts than hand made. haha

How nice of your friend to do that for you. I wish I was more crafty then I could make some interesting gifts for my friends and family. I guess it misses a generation because I can't sew, embroidery, knit or nothing. My mother could sew and knit and not even use instructions, just figure it our for herself. My daughter is very crafty too.

I love crafts for Christmas. It's funny because the other day I was at Hobby Lobby and I saw this cool loom for knitting socks on. I would have bought it but it was 25 dollars and I wasn't sure that would be a good choice for me to spend money on. Instead I bought yarn and a jewelry making kit. When I saw my grandma (who taught me to knit as a child) I told her about the loom. She had this gleam in her eyes and said it sounded neat. Two days later she texted me that she was on her way to Hobby Lobby is that loom what I wanted for Christmas? I said yes... so now I know what she is getting me for Christmas and I'm so excited! If I get good at using it I will have to sell some socks on Etsy to make some more money.

I only send a few cards at Christmas, as I have difficulty writing. I already bought a few. I wanted to make them but I forgot. It would be more personal then store bought cards. This might not have been a good year to make them anyway. I was making a blanket for my godchilds baby and just got it done in time for the baby. So I really didn't want to start anything else for Christmas. My friend has a birthday in March and I am making her something. Maybe I will make her card!

Hi Jugs. I love going to see what others have done but it is to see if I can make them too. I love making things to give for Christmas because it seems to me that if a gift is hand made it means more to a person. Well it does mean that to me. Thanks for sharing.

We don't really celebrate christmas over here. IT's either we give some presents for gift exchanges, when we are having a small party in someone's house, or we will be out celebrating in a group, making merry, counting down and drinking. Much as i'm close to my bf, we don't really celebrate christmas alone together because we both think, it's more fun to have more friends joining us.
