Hi everyone... I think all of you have this experience that i am about to say here. You are in your dining table and discover a piece of hair.... oh. no. I have found several times in my home and i don't know from where it comes. It's really annoyance having hair on your dish. Sometimes apart from hair you may find cockroach, ant, spider or some insects. How did you cope with it. Did you change all the plate or just throw away that annoyance item and ready to take it again? Share your experience. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

I might have experienced a small piece of hair in my plate which falls off from my own head, i will take it out particularly. But there are no possibilities for insects or ants like that, because we have a clean environment and surroundings are very impressive as we clean our house daily. so, no insects have abandoned my house !!!

Hi guna... If you are sure that the hair you have found is your, then nothing to complain and easily can eat the rest but if it's a long hair similar to a girl, then? Okay, there is no chance to have some insects in your home but there are lots of chances in outside. Perhaps you have not that nasty experience ever. Have a nice day and sorry for being late here.

Hi dear, It has mixed feelings. As you said, it is a regular experience and many people must have been faced with the same issue, especially, in the case of piece of hair. Frankly speaking, in my experience, I would should on this issue and making some notice, I remove it out and continue eating (this is only if I am at home). Luckily, this is not happened in the last 3-4 years now. Sometimes, there may be some substance, hair like things which comes in sugar and all but such things also I have got it, but I realize that it is not hair. Also, small ants, are another thing, which I have seen in sugar at times. But I don’t mind small ants been seen in food. I have never seen the ants inside the food, but when I was small, I have experienced it with black coffee or black tea. My father was so particular that if he gets a piece of hair in his food, he never continued to eat the food for the time. He never takes different plates or continue with the same food. He just gets up and stop eating, may be at lunch time or dinner. As this was known to my mom, she was so particular to avoid such a situation. Still, it happened some times as there are girl children are at home. Also, if I get a long hair, I will not use the same plate food at any cost. Best regards, Thank-s

Hi friend... Well, i have faced a plate with hair several times in my home and the food is made by my mom. there i am sure that it's my mom's hair as she has hair fall problem. I have no complain either just tell her to be conscious in case of guest. I continue it as you just by removing that here. If this situation takes place in hotel or restaurant, then i can't continue and ask for a replacement. I have found ants several times in my milk cup or tea. But here is a saying that if you eat ant then you can swim well. My mother told when i was a kid and it helped me to continue. But now i just remove it with a spoon and continue. I had a friend who vomit if he finds hair on his diner plate. Thanks that i am not the same. Have a nice day.

Hi dear, Yes, surrounded to home, it may happen. Especially, when we get the green leaf veritable from market, some time it may be rolled out with long hair. Few years back, it happened 2-3 times and then we stopped getting such veg. leafs from the market. Also, few weeks before, some ants got into a honey bottle, which was not properly tightened the cap. Many ants got into it and it was a 1 kg bottle of honey, which I bought from native place. Even though my wife asked me to throw it out, I didn’t do it and I filtered the honey and kept it. I think the small ants are not dangerous so that I didn’t throw it way. But as you said, if we have some gusts or some additional people from outside, it is advisable that keep away from ants and hair in food, even accidently. Thanks for your response. Regards, Thank-s

Of course you are very correct. We have faced this situation atleast once in our daily meal times.Hairs in our food should really be avoided. It doesn't do anything to enhance our eating experience at all.It is unhygienic and also too unappetizing.I have had hairs on my food plates many times and each time it really feels bad.But I have to finish my meal as I do not like wasting my food.Unless of course what I found in my food was not hair but some very bad things like insects.

Hi nikhil... No, lol. i don't think that it happens atleast once in our daily meal times but most often... If a hair goes straight to your stomach then be sure you are about to suffer from dysentery. In case of home there is no problem to take the rest just removing it but in outside, no way.... I can't remember when i got insects in my food. It would be more awkward experience ever. Have a nice day and sorry being late here.

I had experience on having hair in meals several times. My mother does the cooking and she is not wearing a net so that's explain why. I encounter a hair in a soup on canteen and they replace it not realizing that it may damaged their reputation.

Ewh.. not just once or twice but a lot of times that I found a long hair on my food from a different restaurants. I remember once when I was eating my food at one of my favourite restaurant with my fiance' and I was happily eating and talking to him at the same time when he told me to stop and not to eat the food. When I looked at the food on my spoon, I saw a long curly hair around the food, and I mean it was really long that half of it still curling around the plate and the food. I thought I was going to puke that time. I felt bad for returning it to the waiter and also complaint about it but what could I do. When they offered me a free replacement, I had to say no because I have completely lost my appetite Have a nice day

Hi kodukodu... I think no one can eat again in a restaurant if he/she finds a hair or something else on his/her diner plate. In case of that curly hair, i think it's hair of someone's armpit. Lol. Don't vomit please. Have an experience like this with your fiancé is always great and hope you will remember it after your marriage as well. hahaha. Have a nice day and sorry for being late here.

yeah, all of us have experienced such kind of annoyance. but different from you, i experienced this in restaurants rather than at home. my mom is extremely careful with this. when i discover hair or insects in the plate, i would ask the server to change it immediately. most servers have good manners and apologize to me, but some are quite rude. in such cases, i just refused to pay. i always believe in one thing, that is i pay for good service.

Hello Shibham, To be very honest I just can’t tolerate all these things in my plate and I will be ready to tolerate my hunger than having the food with all these nonsense. Hair can be tolerate if it is on the plate and a small one, but if I get in between eating it is very much difficult for me to handle. I can’t eat then. Regarding the insects, spider is very dangerous one, its poison can spread to our body if it is in the food (if it falls when prepare food). All other insects are not dangerous but see the same in food is somewhat disgusting. Anyway I am happy that these things are not happening with me. I am very much careful while preparing food and even after the prepared food (kept as properly closed). I don’t have the habit of entering into the kitchen with open hair. I have been taught the same since my childhood’ if you are coming to the kitchen your hair should be properly tied’.(this is mother’s advise) I am following the same now also. I got special appreciation from my Mother-in-law when she was with us. She told that it is happening at home (village) as the ‘Well’ is opened one, hair may get in water and little distraction of attention can get the same in rice pot. I think all credit goes to my mother as she taught the discipline to me.

Hi sree... I know how a person may feel after receiving a hair on the dinner plate. If you find it lying on your plate at the very first sight, then it easy to tackle. But if it enters to your mouth and your discovered it, then it's really disgusting. Yes, spider and lizard are dangerous and there are some instances of whole family hospitalized after taking that meal. Thanks that you have a great habit heritages by your mom and mom in law. Have a nice day.

Hi shibham, I feel almost all of us have at one or the other time discovered such annoying objects in our food plates. And hair is quite common. Those lizards, cockroaches, and insects like them are not so often found unless the eating environment is unhygienic. Some people are too fussy about finding some foreign objects in the eating plate. As for me, I have never thrown away my plate only that there is a string of hair there. I just remove it or them and go on with my mission eating. It could happen and what happens is mostly accidental.

Finding hair in my food is not something I relish. I'm sure it is there by accident, but all the same, it is there. If I would see a hair on my plate, it would probably be the end of the meal for me. i would have to get something else to eat.

Hi ebuscat... Is it a co-incident that i have started this discussion just after you? lol
17 Nov 10
Yes, Yes, Yes, this happens so many times, i have long hair and i guess some times when i am cooking i must catch my hair too much when pushing it away and some must fall, although sometimes it can seem that the hair that is on my plate is not my colour, it also isn't my son's and so as nobody else lives in my home it seems a little strange. I do continue with my food although i obviously do throw the hair away, i wouldn't want to waste my food and all the time it took to cokk and prepare it but it does stick in my mind and i do not enjoy my food as much then. I really am curious as to where the hair really does come from, maybe i have ghosts in the house that want to play some form of trick on me, lol.

Hi craigy... Nice to meet you again. I think the ghosts are really playing with you. Perhaps the hair comes from the raw materials that you buy from retailers. Thanks for that, i love thinking that hair in my food could be from somebodys armpit, lol, Oh, what a horrid thought, your making me make sure i check everything all the time now, lol. Point is hair from others can easily get on the things we buy, and even in tinned food, that is part of life, but it is not nice to have.

Good evening shibham, Hair on the head is the most wonderful and beautiful thing but hair on your food is disgusting. If I find a hair on my food I can not eat it anymore. I can't just take the hair off and continue eating it, just not in me. I have tried and I just gag on it. I went to a restaurant for breakfast one day, with my husband, and I was served over easy, runny eggs, the way I ordered them, but with a hair on them. I returned my plate and followed the waitress to the kitchen and watched her take the hair off and turn around to bring me the plate. I stopped her and said no way, I wanted a new order made. I couldn't eat the eggs knowing there was someones hair on it and how could she try to re-serve it to me. If I wanted the hair just taken off I would have taken it off myself and not returned it for another order. I talked nicely to her about it but she freaked on me so I talked to the manager and had a new order made and got my breakfast for free. I didn't want my breakfast for free, I just wanted my breakfast made over again without someone's hair in it. I can't eat my food once I find a hair in it. Cheers and TTYL my friend , Chris

My daughter and I both have long hair. We find hair everywhere. There was a notice on one of the sites that I frequent that said there was a recall on some Baby Formula because they had found cockroack debre in it. Ugh! And I had a cup of milk the other night and went to drink it and found a fly in it swimming around. I was totally grossed out.

Hiya shibham, Quite a long time back I was eating a piece of wholemeal Bread and I found a piece of wood in it. Lucky for me I did not swallow it. Second time around I bought from the Bakery another piece of Wholemeal Bread and the same thing happened again. So this time I stopped buying the Bread from there as simple as that. With things like Lentils and Beans you also have to check there are no little stones or bits of gravel in them although they come in very clean Packets. I am usually quite careful with my Hair when in the Kitchen so as not to annoy anyone. It´s like you mentioned to your Mom she could have Guests and not realize that she might have to tie her hair back like I do sometimes in or wash hair and with towel wrapped around your Head when you are doing food it´s much safer. But things do happen though. Again I am careful even if I don´t wash my Hair at that moment I take precautions to keep it all free from that kind of happening.

Hi angel... Ohh... wood. I remember that once i got a stable pin and once a fishhook and perhaps it came from the fishes that caught in stream near in my village but don't know from where the stable pin came from? small pieces of stones and bricks are quite common here and there are some instances of losing or breaking teeth of customers. Actually my mom ties her hair in a shape of ball just on the head yet there are chances of hair fall. Most often hair comes from the raw materials that we buy from market. Have a nice day and sorry for being late here.

Hiya shibs, Well you were lucky not to swallow any of that were´nt you how lucky to have found it beforehand. They really should be more careful. We sometimes get bricks in the Lentils so it´s always best to clean them before using them too. Too easy to break our teeth it seems and you can´t get back the original ones can you once they are broken. Oh I know what sort of style she wears then. But there is more danger from those sharp things they leave around in the Food just not on is it?
• Pamplona, Spain
22 Nov 10
Hiya shibs, Thank God that you did not swallow it or anything like that the distress it can cause must be quite alarming to say the least. I am also careful to scald all the vegetables as there has been two scary tummy viruses going around here so I scald all the greens and root vegetables no matter how safe they are supposed to be I add a bit of salt and two cloves of garlic. Okay you might lose vitamins a bit but that is much safer than relying on tap water itself. Think precautions like this are a must and also to eat much more slowly too. That way you are more likely to come across anything odd that should not be there. All Moms take good care most times but we are not perfect either. No worries I don´t worry about all that either just follow guidelines and take it easy (grin).

Hiya shibs, I am having to be very careful with the lettuce now and other greens that come in plastic wrapping. I have put them all in warm water, Sea Salt and a few drops of Cider Vinegar and let them soak. Being in Christmas I think there is much more likely to find nasty things like you said. I have just washed some Grapes too ready for tonight and had left them to soak a little earlier on. There can be lots of little nasties to be found in common things like Lettuce. You just can´t know until you unwrap it and cut it into four halves and find it half rotten with those horrible creep crawlies inside. Happy New Year to you Shibs. Take care now.xxx

Hiya shibs, You can find them here too in the Food. Yesterday I did well to soak everything extra. Now that we don´t know where the greenstuff is being grown anymore and where the water itself comes from I am extra careful. So just to make sure better to be safe than sorry. Lettuce for example holds lot´s of parasites or can hold I will say can hold because I have not got a microscope to check anything out. It looks very clean and yet it is not. People get fooled into thinking it comes in plastic so it´s clean already not so. Makes for plenty of nasty tummy upsets if you are not wise and clean. Take care now.xxx

That is so gross I would definitely throw the entire food serving away because if it is found in one plate it is bound to be on another. I also have found things like that in fast food places and of course I get so grossed out I toss it in the trash and never go back to that place again.
