I remember last year, I had an accident due to icy road, I lost control of my vehicle and hit on a residential mailbox on the roadside. Today, it seems like the same situation, raining in the morning and it was super - cold. The road a bit of icy and slippery. My co - worker called me up, and ask me if we can delay 1 or 2 hours to work. As radio broadcast, many counties delay the opening of school for students, and other workplace also delay the work hour. I was a dare devil, I still drove my car out to work but slowly on the road. I was cautious definitely, and I don't want to make the same mistake. Fortunately, I arrived at work safely, but while I parked my car at my usual parking spot, the car slipped. When I got out of the car, I slipped too.
Many people at my workplace come to work late, and it is understandable. Safety comes first. So, how was the road condition at your place today?

Horrible.....we had another 5 inches of snow this morning on top of the 11 we got last weekend. The problem was that the chemicals they used to try to break up the ice that came before the first snow didn't work as the temps got so cold. So under the new snow is ice. Lots of cars and trucks in the ditch and also one school bus went in this morning....crazy!

everything just went crazy. It wasn't that horrible here in Atlanta. But it might not be that convenient at other places. The temperature will be warmer this weekend though, hope that everything will be normal again. Happy Christmas.

The heavy snow last year in the UK last year did cause us a great problem. It took twice the time the students to get back to school and a lot of international students could not get back for lessons as the airports have been closed. When I was jogging on the street, it was with snow and ice and I almost slipped. I hope this year the situation will be better when I get back to the UK but I think the situation will get even worse as there has already been snow in the UK before I left school. Anyway, we have to be careful when moving on the ice and snow.

Dear friend,
In our place there is not much of snow fall, but during this season there is lots of fogs especially during the morning time. Mostly in the south India where I live. It is bit difficult to drive in high ranges where the road is also much curvy. But I feel the situation there is bit difficult that here. Yes safety is something we all wants.

My place in india is hot, we never have ice or snow, but i can picture the situation very well, it will be like driving on a road spilled with oil, better to avoid totally, the time we save by speed driving might be the last..
Thank you so much for this nice post.
Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .
God bless you.
Welcome always.

I am now in Philippines so its not a problem of ice. But I was in UK last week and it was horrible. The roads are closed and the snow is knee length. And the temperature is very cold! You should be careful. Our lives is quite short and it will be a shame to die because of the icy roads. I mean, it just good that you just hit the mailbox, but the next time, we don't really know what will happen. ;)

I THOUGHT it was going to be OK today - just cold as usual but then, it started to snow all of a sudden and qiuite a bit. Im all for snow, but not when it turns horride and icy! So I went slowly as welll. I remeber last year though there was ALOT of snow that I couldnt get my car out and had to stay at home. :D The worse bit of today was it was the last day of school and all the children were out at 12, thorwing snow. Not balming them but you have to be careful when kids are around!

Last year my husband was involved in an accident caused by the snow and the icy roads. Fortuneately he didn't get hurt, but our car was badly damaged and it was very expensive to get it fixed. We are still paying off the debt, and we have decided to be extra careful this year. We can't afford any more bills, and we are worried about the safety as well. The roads are very slippery at the moment and driving is dangerous. Last week we had a scary experience, because my husband was unable to control the car, but fortuneately the situation didn't lead to an accident.

For me here in the Philippines no icy ever since we don't have it even a single ice drop in the road when times of rainy days many are have an accident here because due to no break because lack of responsibility to check it first before to run the vehicle.
