The good we see in people and the other kinds of people

Yes, i agree on the last sentence, all the bad people get recognised but rarely the good. WHy? Most people think it's embarassing to do something good, even lending a helping hand to those who needed it. I have met my fair share of people, and it's true that i remember more people who mistreated me, than those who gave me help. Maybe it's some kind of mechanism in us humans, that makes us think in that way?

For me yes it is the way you can said you are good to your neighbor by saying your life you are good.

That is why it is so great to be on public forums where you can tell people about good things that happen in your life or your area. I know too much emphasis is often placed on the bad things and it is enough to make us all focus on the negative at the expense of all the good things in our lives.

i have had the good fortune to know a couple of really kind and caring people. I am also lucky enough to call them friends. One of them is on mylot and i won't embarrass her by naming her, but in common with my other kind friend, they both believe in god(which makes you wonder if goodness and godliness are interchangeable? perhaps another discussion???) but they are really tolerant people , they always try to see good in every body. and i wish i could be more like them. But i agree with you, the bad pushy people always get the recognition, my 2 friends do get sidelined and pushed back, but they still shine in their own way and I do count myself fortunate to have such good friends.

I wonder why that is.. Is it because people expect people to be good all the time?

I am an unbelievably nice person -and I do not feel arrogant saying this- so I feel I must comment that I do not think that are many nice people left. The reason we hear about bad people, I think, is not just a case of the bad being more interesting than good but because there really is so very little good left. I would hold the door for anyone and feel horrible if I never, give someone my spot in line, tip the crappy waitress because everyone deserves a tip and a million other niceties and no one hears about them and I don't think it's because we happen to only hear about the bad people -such as the ones that beat up the old ladies or do not hold the door for someone- but because there are a million "bad" people to one "nice" one and the fact there IS only one nice person to one million bad people makes it pointless to talk about good because it's almost relegated to the past anyhow. Once again I do not think we should be nice, I just rarely see anyone be friendly.

Yeah, it's easier to remember the bad than the good and i wonder why too.. haha =D Is it due to the fact that it's much easier to hate than love someone? When that's the case, it's of no wonder why there are so few good people in this world now, because whatever they do, they are not being appreciated.. lol =D Human nature, we want to be recognized for whatever we do, if not, no point.. lol =D

Yes your right that the good people go unrecognised. Even in the work place the good workers never get any praise and the wingers and bad workers get more attention than they should. It really annoys me that attention seekers get what they want. Cheers S ue

You are so right. For a long time now, I have been saying the same thing. I have felt that if the goodness in the world was more talked about, maybe it would help the world become a better, kinder place.

Hi jugs. I still believe that there are lots of good people around. I still see the world as a beautiful place. Honestly, I have heard people around me talking about what bad things people do to others, how ugly other people's characters are, how terrible some people live... arrgggh!!! I am sick of them. I am sick of hearing negative and judgmental people...It is a good feeling that there are people like you who still believe that good people exist. Somehow, I think that serves an inspiration to others not to lose hope and belief in the human race.

That is because bad news sells unfortunately. People like to whinge and complain, it is human nature sadly that people somehow feel better themselves about their own lives if they are reading about or seeing on TV the plight of others that are having a hard time. I do not buy newspapers, or watch TV news programs for this very reason. I would rather be oblivious to all the negative stuff that is going on in the world.

You are right and this is a large part of the reason that my husband and myself no longer watch the local news. We know that there are plenty of everyday heroes in our area, but they never get recognized on the news. Instead, the local news is an hour filled with doom and gloom mostly. Then there is also the sports portion that focuses on a select few people that were granted the gift of being able to play sports. I think that there should be one everyday hero that is recognized on every newscast.

Bad news gets better ratings than good news for some reason. Because of the ratings the media concentrates on bad things and people. I am not sure why people seem to like to hear about all the bad things in the world but it seems they do. Being disabled, I know there are still a lot of good people out there. I get offers of help all the time, and I am sure you do also. It is a shame the helpful and caring people don't get the recognition they deserve.

The good thing from this is that, the bad things that happen in the papers and the media only get highlighted and brought to attention because it is out of the norm and doesn't happen very often. The goods things probably outweigh and happen so often in normality that the media don't bother to put it in the papers! :)

Hello!!! i came across such people, when ever i find such people i really feel happy that day and some kind of feeling fills my heart, my dad is one such who is least both about himself and more worried about others.

Hi, jugsjugs. That is the common problem in the world today. Many of the good people are lost in the maze. All you hear about is the bad things that are in this world. It is very sad that good people are not made to be known. But they are well known by God. When the news comes on at night on my television, the new reporters talk about all of the bad things first. It is usually about five to six bad stories that they air on television, before they mention the good things. It is a shame how this world has became. When I hear about all of the bad things, I make sure that I assure myself that there are good people in this world too. With all of the bad things that you are hearing about, it will make a person believe that it is nothing but bad people and bad things in this world. But, I don't think that way. I will not allow myself to think that way.

In my community whenever there is need for help financially or prayer vigules people from this community reach out. I wish I could do more. It is so touching to hear on the news. Yes, for them it is never too much to do. It is rare that you hear about how nice people can be. It is good to hear and nice to know there are such good in the world no matter how slight.

Hi Jugsjugs, There are all kind of people in this world. Both good and bad. Unfortunately world is slowly and slowly being taken over by ruthless people. But if you look around you would find that there are lots of good people. If you want to find good people dont look for them in churches or temples but in daily life because those religious people would kill others in name of god. But if there are not good people left then the system would have been destroyed by now and the world would be under control of wolves with no one caring about others.

all people were born basically being good, all babies are good because of innocence but as we grow some people just fall out of the way, so let's continue trusting people because there is that good in all of us no matter how bad some may seem
