Baklava is a really really yummy dessert that I loved to eat when I worked at the Greek restaurant I mentioned in another post. It's what pecans I think? and filo bread or something like that, DELICIOUS as all get out. I loved it! Now you're thinking this girl must be fat lol, nah I didn't say I ate it all the time. Anyway, have you had this? what are you waiting for? ever made this?

I can tell by descriptions that it is yummy. I have never made anything that called for phyllo dough or filo dough. I think it is kind of tricky to work with. We have no Greek restaurants around here so I have not had it. Maybe sometime, though.

I think it's phyllo dough, I'm not quite sure. You should try it when you can, I've seen it in stores before, it's delicious. Very sweet though, and kind of chewy but very very good, and once you're done eating it you'll want more.

I have seen the dough spelled both ways. I know I would love it. I think I have heard that it also has honey. I am sure I would enjoy Greek food if given a chance to try it.

That sounds about right. I haven't had it in a long time, but now that I'm mentioning it the next time I get a chance I am going to get some. I hope you can try some greek food soon. I'd suggest a Chicken Pita. Gyro's are lamb and beef (I think it's lamb) and so keep that in mind. Greek Salad's are even good!

I love Baklava! There was a greek deli down the street from where I lived that had it. I tried it an it was love at first bite. It has been forever since I have had any though...I shall have to go on a Baklava hunt now.

This one I have tried. We have a greek church just down the street and they have a open house in the Spring that we go to occasionally. I try alittle of the different dishes but never knew what they were all called. I did try the baklava and I loved it. I would think it would be labor intensive to make.

Hello SomeCowgirl I have heard it and finally got a taste of it. I can say it was too sweet for me, but my son loved it. We have a Greek restaurant near my old house and finally after eating there a few times we finally gave it a try. I have not made it, since my son is no longer at home with us and since it was a bit too sweet for me I have not tried to make it. Maybe this one was not made right if it is not suppose to be so rich and sweet?
