Some People Need to Get a Grip

Ok, it's grumpy Dawn today... Some people take this online stuff way the heck too seriously. Don't get me wrong. Many of you are very real to me. My online friends have been there for me, gotten me through this divorce (well mostly through), let me bounce things off of them, made me laugh, etc. Thank you thank you thank you and But sometimes I just have to wonder about how seriously people get into some of this stuff. Screen printing everything said in chat and analyzing it over and over again. Getting pissed off because people don't follow some stupid protocol. Getting all your friends to come to your rescue when somebody's offended you. Telling people how they should behave or you'll delete them. Some people just need to get a grip, and go off and have a life when online stuff gets them upset. Unless somebody's actually attacking you, why take this stuff seriously? Deep sigh. OK, rant over.... Did any online nonsense annoy you today?

I get a giggle out of most of what I see online and when I see those who are getting upset I often wonder if they really are bashing away at the keys when they are spurting out their gripes. How sad I have a lot going on offline which is best kept there until it gets better and I can inform about the positives therefore when I'm here it must be fun. I switch off if it is 'heavier' than usual so that I don't get dragged in. Thank goodness for PMs on the days that there is a lot of bashing

Yea, I remember Yuwie. I did take it way to seriously back then. Had a stalker who went to one of my writing sites and threatened to mop the floor with my bloody carcuss. Remember him? Now, I just rant back at those who get way to bent over my opinions, and go on having my opinions. I am not one to let someone push me around, and I guess that makes some people mad as h3ll. I do try my best to be nice about pushing back though. I do wonder why people get so angry over a stranger's opinions. I am an opinionated person, but that's what posting discussions is about, opinions. What say you, dawn? Am I to opinionated for the public?

Not yet, but I don't think my sister is online today yet... But here, (where my sister is not..hehehe) if I see something that looks like it might get bad, I do try to say something so it doesn't get worse. If someone is on my post or directly says something to me I don't like, I either ignore them or fight back, depending on my mood and if I have good ammo...lol Other than that, I stay laid back, I need the laughs and light-hearted words to get me through my school..

Hey dawny! I only come to this site. Not on FB, where I'm sure I would be constantly annoyed so I stay away! I enjoy my time here or I wouldn't bother. I have enough drama in my "everyday real life". I love my online friends, sometimes more than my "real life" friends, of which I have done quite alot of "housecleaning". I don't have time for bullsh!t! I believe in telling it like it is, take me as I am. And I am not interested in playing games in any part of my life~

Hey there, I can't say anything has irritated me today or lately online. See that way I see it is that I have loads of stuff off-line that are quite and far more irritating so when I go online I do so to entertain and have fun. Contrary to what anyone may think going online for me is a stress reliever. Primarily, like here on myLot. When I read about a hubby recently diagnosed with cancer, a member off to her first chemo without any clue if she will live long and or a mother who's child was just raped. All of this reminds me that although my offline life is shaky while I am here it reminds me of the blessings I truly have. Therefore nothing here or any online site will I enter and or allow to irritate me badly.

Not today...this is one of my first responses today...heheh. Yes, I do have a few good friends online but I know the limitations too. I can't just pick up the phone and call them up anytime. But they do help me out...with suggestions...being there with a shoulder to cry on when I needed it...etc. And I don't expect more. I've always believed that it's easier to let go of things in the virtual world and move away...unlike in the real world ...when things happen to your face and you can't help but react. The examples you've mentioned are really petty...and if anyone threatened me to behave or else they would delete me, I'd just say 'Go ahead'....doesn't affect me one bit.

No, I can't say that it did. It does not usually. In fact online usually brings good stuff my way, or at least lets me escape the bad stuff. I would not even know how to take a screen shot of stuff said in chat. I have family who over analyze stuff and so I do not look for that in my online life.

Ya, I am online alot and I dont even take stuff that seriously. To actually analyze and go over it again and again. No, not I! I do like a good discussion but I am not one to delete someone because they don't follow my guidelines. Although if I find members I have accepted on my friend's list are scammers I am pretty quick to say bye bye. What ever happened to people having a mind of their own and letting them use it? Telling others how they should behave is alittle immature. I direct them to FAQs or the guidelines. Gheesh!

Actually yes. Some online nonsense did annoy me today. It was actually through mylot. I made a discussion based of this annoyance. I basically awake to an email reading nonsense and name calling. I got over it quickly, because it didn't hurt me any. But that was pretty much the start of my day. Luck me! lol

It's been awhile since anything has annoyed me.. online wise of course. Yeah, some people do take it too seriously, because they have nothing else going on in their lives. Some people crave the drama and attention.. I don't understand why. Perhaps if they picked up a new hobby they'd be less aggravating and aggravated! I can't imagine that's good for their health to get so wound up over something so silly.

Hey, Dawn...I still get annoyed occasionally when I see some of the political and/or religious stuff that's being argued/debated. I've had to just ignore the ignorance and not even add a response. These political/religious ranters get so incensed when they find people who don't agree with them. A few weeks ago I did reply to someone who was going to delete friends if they didn't post a photo of themselves so she could see what everyone looked like. Now wasn't that petty? I would say, "Delete away."
