It may not be much, but it's my little garden.

Garden - The only good looking spot in the garden right now.

I took one picture of my tomato plants today, not much else is really big enough to photograph, and there are lots of weeds surrounding everything else. With the soil as bad as it is, it's impossible to get rid of everything that shouldn't be there. But, with time, things will get better. I planted 3 pots worth of beans and peas today as I don't know if the ones I planted near the fence will do anything.

This is a good start for getting a real big garden! I have planted some carrots, a tree, some flowers and potatoes. I think it is fun to see the growing from day to day (or month to month) I think it also is exciting to plant new stuff that I have never tried before!

I agree. I think it's exciting to watch the plants grow every day. And then when it finally sprouts the vegetable it's like you're in awe!

Next year promises to be far better as I will be tackling it earlier on in the season and getting better dirt into it sooner. I'm looking forward to seeing what results I get this year, hopefully it will be good.

You will be able to do some prep work this fall before it freezes too. I love my container garden, and I just used fresh cilantro in a dish today. So yummy!!

i like the efforts you are making to your garden. every little progress counts. because that would turn to big triumphs one day. i wish i could show you our tomatoes, but my mom took them out last week when it got in the way of the construction of the kitchen extension. and i didn't have a picture. i guess we're lucky we have good soil. various plants grow in our garden and my mom does the magic, it's all hers. last april, we had about 80-100 papaya seedlings that grew from the seeds my brother gave us and my parents planted. 2 weeks ago, my father moved them out from our garden to the little farm lot just a block away from our house. they say in about 5 months, fruits will start to show. we'll see. i attached a photo of watermelon that grew just outside the kitchen along with the tomatoes. it was a great surprise really because my mom remembered planting tomatoes but not watermelon. perhaps it was our own habit of scattering seeds all over the place since we were kids, thinking that they will one day grow into plants and trees. and they do. at first the young watermelon fruit looked like a green tomato... until it formed stripes. goodluck with your beans and peas too.

watermelon - just one of the surprising things that grew in our garden. :)
funny... i attached the photo of the watermelon with my response but it went to another discussion about a bollywood film. i'll try again to attach it. hope it gets through at the right discussion. lol

It looks really good you must be proud. I am not good at gardening and I probably will never get there because I have no interest in it really. We have a small garden in my backyard, but I tend to let my husband take care of it.

Hey for getting it started. I am happy to hear you have something going. It is a lot with all you have going. But the end result will give you great satisfaction. Best of luck and have fun with the tomatoes.

I like gardening. I have 2 houses in the country and I like planting and recolting vegetables. I like planting them, and most of them, eating them :)) The vegetables from my garden are healthier than those from the supermarket. I wish you luck with your garden and have at least 10% from the garden that I have!

I imagine some of the ones on the fence will come up, but maybe not as many as you would like. I have not planted any beans yet, but they can be planted up to mid July here. Peas are ready to start picking. I am quite a bit further south than you are, but I would not want to go any further.

Those tomatoes look healthy! I hope they take off really soon! I'm sure if you spend a little time each day that you will eventually get all the weeds gone. Good luck with that! Have a great week!!!

It's a nice start. It's the beginning of a garden. You have to start somewhere, and this is yours.

I like to look at all of the garden and vegetable pictures. I don't have the room to have a garden and usually get my fresh vegetables from the farmers' markets. Am really looking forward to this season's harvests.

Aw. It looks good. It'll get there. I remember we used to have a small garden in my backyard when I was younger. My father used to take care of it. It was cute. Give it time. Yours will get there! Good luck!
