The good news is that the sibling of Kismet was caught today.
The bad news is that the sibling is going to the Cedar Park pound...
The good news is that its no kill - the not so good is that we have to hope they have a way to foster the sibling until its old enough to be adopted...
The good news is that its not coming to our house!
The bad news is that Kismet is not going to have a same age playmate...
So, I don't know if I'm happy or sad...
what would you be?

hi elicbxn I probably would be sad about the sibling going to Cedar park pound but happy its no kill so guess its happy and sad like most situations are. I remember sitting in the ER wondering what the h was wrong as I had blisters on one side of my abdomen and my right side hurt so I thought diverticulitis and allergy to medication. so the er doctor
comes in,Mrs Hatley I have good news and bad news. the good news you do not have to be hospitalized with diverticulitis bu t the bad news is you have shingles. whoopee I thought. this was almost four years ago but whenever someone talks about good news and bad news I remember that day and that doctor and his sense of humor.shingles was not a whole lot of fun either, very painful in fact.

My doctors never know what it is. I often think I know more than they do so all those years in school they have over me really didn't do them much good, did it? Oh...yeah...I guess they do get to charge an arm and a leg since they have that piece of paper while I have to suffer with a fixed income.

I would be relieved, I guess, not to have one more pet to care for. Kismet will find others to play with, I imagine. It might have been serious sibling rivalry. As another member said, you did not say why she cannot stay at your house.

Well sad really...but maybe happy if they find a home.
Have you tried freecycle to find homes for your babies. It is local to your area. You find the freecycle in your local towns and they take what you don't want. It's freecycle.com
That way you can know who gets your baby.

It's too bad your local freecycle is that way. I'm so glad ours is not.
I'm glad you have a place to turn to that is good.

Our local freecycle doesn't allow animals, heck they don't really like posting live plants either but don't stop that one
Kittens do pretty well finding homes so that's good - maybe the sibling will also be siamese marked and those place even faster

You don't say why the sib isn't going to your place.

I'm sure that the big cats can hold their own with Kismet.

Seeing it is a no kill shelter, I would be happy. It always rips my heart out to have to walk away from a shelter that kills. I usually donate old towels and stuff to the local one here and I hate going because I want to rent a truck and take them all away.
I'm also happy they caught him..he wouldn't have made it out there alone.

its good news for me, I won't go over my personal limit (30)
Kismet is already adjusted to playing with herself and some of the big cats... the good news is that cats really do have pretty short memories about a lot of things and Kismet is a baby, and their memories are even shorter...

I would be relieved that Kismet was caught, sad because the other one is going to the pound and extremely glad that it is a no kill shelter! All this would be topped up with disappointment that Kismet has lost a playmate. So all in all it would certainly be a mixture of emotions but the main thing is that everybody will be taken care of and that has to be good!

Good to hear Kismet's sibling was caught!
Nice to know it is going to a no kill shelter! To bad you couldn't foster Kismet and the sibling! Kismet I am sure would of loved it!
At least Kismet is around the other cats you have! Kismet at least won't be lonely!

I would say relief as then you will not have one more pet to care for, but then as you say Kismet won't have a playmate. So my thought is can you foster another one? If so that may be the solution.

Well, I'm not a Cat person, so I would be happy that the other one went to the pound. I hope that someone who is a cat person will adopt him though.
Are you going to keep Kismet or try and find a permanent home for him?

I'm a bit confused, haha, so what else is new.
I just saw Kismet today on Facebook and what a sweet looking kitty!
So this is what I'm confused about. How did you acquire Kismet and not the sibling? And seeing you have the sibling, couldn't they just bend the rules a little bit to keep them together?? Wouldn't that benefit both kitties to begin with? Or am I way off on this? I mean, I would want to keep the babies together as I think they would do better, no? Was there only 2 kittens?
Don't mind me, this just sounds like such an interesting story, lol! I think I would be sad about this, but on the other hand, I think you will come across another tiny kitty that needs help. And this way, they can help each other, sweet babies.
