oh no Im about to hit the unlucky's!

Im about to get to 13000 posts here on mylot and I just can't have that. That's an unlucky number and so you bet your bottom dollar you'll be seeing me a lot more lately. I hate being on an unlucky number. I remember when I was on the devil's number and how quick I was to make another discussion just so I could get off of it. Call me superstitious but I just don't like being on unlucky numbers!
Anyone else jetpacked their mylotting just to get away from that?

Since you are commenting that it is a superstition then yes keep posting to surpass it. I rarely would think that a number is unlucky for me. Life in itself at times is sort of unlucky for me and well all we can do is keep going.
Congrats though on 13K, before you know it you will be yet higher.

Yeah well I know it's a silly stupid superstition but it's one I've had for a long time. I don't know how I'll manage it but I used to do really good on mylot. I've got determination though, I need the money! lol! Thaks!

I was like that when I hit the number 666. I will be like that again every time thre 6s come up or any number 13s come up. I am also superticious. My husband and I both hate those numbers and whenever they show up on the car's speedometers we drive around until it goes past that.

Yeah, I am glad I am not the only one with that superstition. For me it's just 666 or 13. On June 6th of '06 I rang up an order that was $66.66! that was kind of odd and scary for me!

I am supersticious too! No, I didn't or haven't jetpacked to get away from a certain number. I notice it but barely and just move on. I am glad to be the number that I am. Worked rather hard for it. That is alot of posts. I will be working hard to get some more under my belt.

13 or any number may be unlucky from person to person, based on individaul experience(s)
Ever seen the movie "23" it sort of gets into the nature of numbers, and explores superstition & other things that you may find interesting.
Test things out for yourself, and discover what effect 13 has on your life(If any)
This will of course, vary from person to person.

Yes I know some people consider it to be lucky, hehe, I'm just not one of those. I realize it's a silly superstition, or a curse long past, but well... I'd rathe rbe safe then sorry. Yeah 13k is a lot, and it's taken me five years (I believe I've been here this long) to get there.

Garden, I also just go to my profile and look down where it says "been a member since" it won't tell you what day or how much you earned but... that's my lazy way.

I am actually at the same situation like you.I am at 178 while i am typing this post.And now i am in a hurry to get rid of it.Just 2 more post and i will get rid of 17 number.I hate 17 number because many people find it unlucky.
I dont believe in superstition but i some time succumb to believe in it.
Thus when ever i come near such numbers or thing i just speed up myself.

Well I am glad I am not the only on with an unlucky superstition. I just don't like the number 13 because I feel it's an unlucky number. I believe that the original reason it was unlucky had to do with the templars and so any curse that may have been on it is long gone, but still....

it's just amazing how long this has lasted, I mean to say that we even know about it today when the templars were cursed centuries ago! It's amazing.

The curse was on templars and since we are not templars we dont have to worry about it.And also one more thing is that templars themselfs are no more.
Just be positive and get past that number.i know it will be along journey but there is no substitute.

No, not really. I guess I just count myself lucky to be doing as well as I am. I hardly look at the numbers at all. I hope you get to where you will be comfortable again really soon. I wish you luck in all of your endeavors outside of mylot as well.

Thanks Garden I really need that. I am hoping to get a job soon but no way to get there but walk. The job I want to get is a 3 hour walk for me, I did it before and can do it again, but not looking forward to it if I have to do it every day for two weeks (until I get my first paycheck).

I don't find the number 13 to be unlucky or I would have to think that my whole life was unlucky. Why do you ask? Because I was born on Friday the 13th in the month of October, so for me I find it very lucky. I however, hate the number 666 and it freaks me out whenever I see it. Whether in my car, or on a sales receipt or even here at mylot. I hope you can "jockey" past it quickly.

I think for me it's just a superstition. Someone explained to me once how it's not really an unlucky number, if I remember correctly it was on Friday the 13th and they explained how it had to do with the Templars if I'm not mistaken. I know that I have no real found fears of it. I guess it's just a fear because of the superstitions.

friday the 13th was never bad for me.Actually it turned lucky for me instead.I got my dream mountain bike on that day.Using this bike i lost 4 kg in just 1 month.
While i went to buy i never looked at the date and after buying i noticed that it actually friday the 13th.
After that day i just felt that it was just a superstituos.

There's still a long way to go for me to get to the 'unluckies'.
But I do remember when I was at the devil's number. It too prompted me to respond to another discussion right away! I'm not that too superstitious, but it felt better to get away from that number.
