Last Friday, on my way to repair shop at the mall the good looking man approach me to have a minute, he's a representative from WWF Philippines. I refuse and said that I am busy, it is still my working time, I was run for an errand but will straight to home after that. I even see the newly wed Kristine Hermosa-Sotto and Oyo Boy Sotto shopping at Toy R Us. Anyway, after my transaction I rush to the exit. I saw the guy again while I'm walking and texting and he said that I am not busy now so I pave way to him and let him discuss his matter. At the end of the discussion I found out that they only accept donation at WWF through debit or credit card. I told him that I don't have either. He can't believe what he heard, he said how did I received my salary, I told him it's a cash basis, I encash check on the bank and delivered the payroll in cash to my office mate. I can't have credit or debit card cause I have a low salary plus I can't save my money cause I help my mother in house expenses. There is no way for me to save money. It's sad bad true, but I really don't like credit card, I still manage to shop and buy in cash. Does any one here still don't have any cards?

Yes,I do not have any credit card and never planned to have one. I can buy my things using cash so,why the need of credit card then. You are right, that would be so hard to save money if you are debted and you will surely be tempted to use the credit card even if you don't need those things that much. Better don't own one to save us from over spending too. have a good day jaiho®

Hello Laniekins! I too don't have any credit card with me and I don't even plan to have one! I have got debit card which I use for taking out cash from ATM! Credit Card is a extravagant expense for me! When I can manage my budget well within my resources what is the point in availing credit card facility and pay the interest for no reason! I have seen many people who spent a lot just because they have Credit card without giving any second thought, later on just to repent about such acts! In fact there is a big catch in the credit card. The accumulated money in the form of credit attracts a lot of interest which one has to pay through one's nose! In case of failure one can face legal proceedings against him/her! Just to keep away from all these head aches and to keep away from Debts which I hate most I never go in for any credit card and I am happy with my debit card and cash transactions! Thanks for the discussion!

We have the same outlook, I don't like paying huge interest unless extremely important.

I have a debit card. This means i can only spend the money in my account. I do not own a credit card and i don't know if i am even allowed one as my credit rating stands i don't know. I don't have any big bills in my name but i do have bills i am not looking at paying anytime soon because i either can't afford the amount required or disagree with the debt all together. Either way my credit rating had probably copped the wrath. I do like to pay cash also, it makes you feel bossy!

And kinda rich haha! It's less hassle to pay in cash than credit card. You have to wait to process and sign on it.

Hmmm about two years ago i didn't have any cards. I have cut ties with my credit card as i don't think they're useful for me. I have a cash card though and a few months ago i opened a debit card. A debit card is as good as cash anyway so that's why i have it. It's not a burden at all. I wonder how you are able to withdraw your earnings online without any cards.

The problem is I don't have money to fund debit card so I really have to stay with my cash. For now I've used my Paypal money by buying items on ebay and upgrading so there's no bank transfer and whatsoever. If I have enough fund on Alertpay, I might use my bf's atm or I will apply for eon card at Unionbank.

@Gavrilovich I agree with you, maintaning a credid card makes you buy whatever you like and you will wake up in a pool of debt plus the hassle of paying in the bank and the never ending problem with credit card. My friend has it for quite a while but she terminate it when she got problems with a big debt. While, when you have no card, you can control your money, I guess the only problem when having no credit card is the Emergency situation.

i don't have a credit card, and i never plan on having one too. Many people in my country end up getting trouble because they cannot pay the interest and also sometimes the debt collector make it worst by physically abuse the people who cannot pay.

Physically abusive collector? That's bad! They should report it at the bank office. Having credit card for me is time consuming.

Of course! there are many who doen't have any credit cards.. I think those WWF you were talking about are scammed because they only wanted your credit for them to transact. Even me I don't want credit card anymore because it is a temptation even how hard you are going to budget and manage your money you can still think and depend on your card. Although on the other hand cc are useful because you can use this to purchase online shopping... No worries if you don't have it because you are safer from big debts and interest.... LOL...

No,I think it's legit, that's the only way they can get the donation quickly. He might think that all working single and even not single has it, besides it is a techno modern world but still I am living in the past :)

I still don't have a credit card and I can't really say that I ever intend on getting one. Although it would be nice to be able to have some funds that I could use when I was waiting to get paid or something like that would be nice, I would rather just not have the reminder of how easy it would be to spend money that I don't have. In my opinion the whole credit and credit card thing is nothing but a big scam. Pretty much any loans or services that charge interest are all big time rip offs in my opinion and I would rather just avoid them if I can. Right now I'm trying to pay my way through college and I really don't want to use student loans because I don't need interest piling up on me while I'm trying to better myself in education. Overall I wouldn't be to worried about not being able to save money or having a credit card. I think the best thing we can do for ourselves is to try as hard as possible to not worry about money and finances. Financial situations are stress that is unneeded and I know that it is one of the biggest worries and frustrations in people's lives now a days. By not letting this paper called money control us is the only way we will ever truly gain power over the material world we have created for ourselves.

I don't have any credit cards myself right now. I have gotten more than my fair share of strange looks to say the very least. Perhaps one day but that day has really not come. I think that a lot of people think that having a credit card is a requirement but really when you think about it, it really does open up the floodgates for a lot of things in life. I'm sure many people can use the credit card right but there are so many things to go wrong to really say the very least. There is really a lot of times where a lot of people seem its strange for someone to not have a credit card. However it opens the door to abuse and ruining my life. Perhaps one day I will get one but I really hope that I never really have to. Time will only tell.

I were using credit cards when I were in my college. ha1 ha! Credit cards are really the powerful plastic cards. With those cards, I never have to carry too much of cash at all. Nowadays. there are too many of credit card fraud cases. It is wise for not having any credit card too. Because of my habit, I can not live without credit card whereby I am granted for 20 days interest free repayment period and I can accumulate the points for cash rebate or exchanging gifts. These two extra features are liked a discount for my daily expenses.

I happen to have one credit card when I was employed but when I resigned from my job I surrendered it because the credit card line I had was for employees and I need to apply for other line as regular client it was displaced in my mind so until now I have no credit card but I have ATM card wherein when I used it on Malls and Groceries it is automatic debit from my account. Credit cards are good but sometimes you did not control your spending because of this plastic money. But the good things of having it is when you go abroad most of transactions required credit card.

The humble way of your talking style is the reason I always prefer to answer your discussions. I had 7 to 8 credit and debit cards earlier. It was a craze to get more cards and having accounts with various known banks. Soon I realized that the cards are mainly to loot the people indirectly if we don’t use it wisely. Now I paid out all the outstanding except one debit card and all other cards I stopped the transactions. It is convenient and useful in these days in different ways. But having a number of cards and extravagance and high spending on unwanted things are the result. If we use properly and on unavoidable situations, card is useful. Now I prefer to keep only one (some time we may required one card at emergencies) so that we can keep one. In your case also, I hope you conditions would improve in the later life and I always pray for the same. If your things are done and managed by without a credit card, it is ok, and not a necessary factor at all. If found useful, you can get at any point of time. Thank-s

I used to have credit cards. Mismanaged and ended up in debt. So it's good for you that you dont have any. I do have a debit card though. I had to get it to verify my paypal account. At least with this I am sure that I wont overspend and even if I get the urge to shop I can only shop up to my money's limit.

I do and I don't think I will ever apply for a plastic. I don;t think I can sleep at night knowing I have a debt to be paid with an interest and monthly bill. I have enough worries for the bills for utilities. I learned from my elders that a debt, in whatever form, is still a debt. For all the advantages of a credit card, I don't want to kick myself in the bottom in the future for not fully reading and understanding the fine print. I am not a person who is well-versed in banking and I don't want to take my chances. Call me a backward or a coward but at least, no credit card company isn't going to be after my blood just to pay my debts. In the long run, I will save myslef from migraines and worry.

Yes a lot of people now a days still don't have any credit card yet including me.I knew a lot of people don't want to have credit card because they are afraid that they can't pay their debt and they can't resist in using it most of the time not knowing that they had increased their debt due to shopping and buying things that are not needed.

I don't have a credit card and not planning to have one. I consider it an "unnecessary" item. I can live my normal life even without it. These plastics came only into existence because humans created an industry for which they will be use. However, this does not make them a human need really. You've stated about that WWF guy approaching you telling you about donation and I am wondering how this guy had the guts to ask someone he doesn't know about financial matters. Anyway, to have a card or not is a personal decision. Care must be taken once someone has it because only the CARD NUMBER is needed for "electronic manipulation" and you're finish. You would end up charged for withdrawals or purchases not made by you.

I was wondering how this guy had the guts to ask some details about matters pertaining your income source.I am one of the few person who doesn't own a credit card. I consider this thing to be an "unnecessary" stuff because I would continue living even without it. Furthermore, even without that little plastic, I can still do my financial transaction normally. Credit cards and their use came only into existence because humans created an industry where they will be use. But still, that factor doesn't make it a necessity actually for me. I'm not saying that it is bad to have a credit card.. It's a personal decision to have one or not considering that although it offer some benefits, there are also dangers if not use carefully. Nowadays, there are a lot of schemes to rob the hard earned money from people's pockets. For these scrupulous individuals, all they need is just the CARD NUMBER. Once they get that, your history. So they now employ different tactics to get that number and for that matter, cardholders must be very careful. It's like the game chess, a player will use every defensive and offensive strategy to prevent the king from being captured.
