What Does Your Car Say About You?

I drive a mini-van, it's white and I never wash it
because I live in the desert where we get dust swirls all the time. I know, excuses, excuses. The inside is usually clean and uncluttered. So my kids say it's time to sell the mini-van because I'm too young for it. Sweet huh? Wait . . . so my car says I'm old, I don't like taking showers and I always clean up on the inside. It's all good.
So any ideas what you car might tell you about yourself or what other people might say?

Well, if stereo types are true you are probably a serial killer. LOL My car is a mid-size one. It is a Subaru Legacy that I have had since the mid 90's. It is coming apart literall but I can't afford a newer or different car. I would think if I saw this car that the person driving it is poor.

It has been a really good car. I can probably drive a while longer. I doubt I could afford a new car when this goes down so hope it lasts awhile.

Like yourself, my car looks old on the outside because I hardly wash it, safe when it rains. I do bath everyday, you know. I guess when people see my car, they probably walk away with the idea that I am a "cannot be bothered" kind of guy.
They can say all they want, and yea, I cannot be bothered.

Yeah, I'm getting to that place where I don't really mind what people think. My little mini van is pretty dependable and it apparently hauls a pretty good load too.

Our cars are all old, so either we appreciate the classics, we are incredible frugal, or we just are plain old poor. My husband sells, and uses a product that is a waterless car wash. Our cars do not have a garage, so they get dusty, but they always clean up easily.Just wipe them off. Even the glass gets treated. Our vehicles collect a lot of stuff, inside so I guess we would say our cars are an extension of our homes. I like to have extra water, cloth shopping bags, paper towels and toilet paper, just in case, so maybe I am a Boy Scout in disguise. We have a red Chevy Cavalier, a white Mercury Capri convertible and just traded an ugly old truck for a Chevy Astro Van, light blue. We are hoping to have time to travel a lot.

I would stick with the we-appreciate-the-classics reply. I've never heard of a waterless car wash. Sounds very intriguing. Plus with all the stuff you keep in your car it just sounds like you're prepared, especially now that you want to travel. It's a good thing.

I drive an SUV. Oh yes, I like it very much and enjoy driving the car. When I go to work driving it, I can sense my colleagues at work saying "there comes the dirty guy" !! Ha ha ! Because my car looks so dirty and muddy. I have not been taking it to the "car wash" frequently !! In fact, that's not because I am lazy. It's because of the weather conditions.

Dirty, muddy and cool, right? I use the weather conditions excuse/reason too. And Hiccup . . . Viagra????

A purple car? Hmmm, I'm not sure if I've ever seen a purple car. Very psychedelic.

My daily transport is a Land Rover Defender, truck cab. It has rock sliders, axle guard, tank guard and in summer it is open topped.
So, what does it say? Well, like your car it is rarely cleaned, occasionally pressure washed to remove mud. So I guess the same inference applies!
It is the worlds best production off road vehicle and the most environmentally friendly of vehicles. It never breaks down or lets me down and brings a smile to the face of the driver every time they use it!
all the best urban

I have no Idea what My car might say about Me,and I'm not bothered by that!
It's neither fast nor flashy, but there's few of them on the road around here,so it's distinctive in that way,it'll take me 400 miles on a tankful, and it can go anywhere, being small and nippy! And we get plenty rain around here so that it doesn't see a car wash that often either!

Sounds very fuel efficient. Have you ever washed your car in the rain?
I do it all the time in the rainy season. Rain alone doesn't seem to clean our cars here in the desert.

I haven't had a car in a few years... and I'm not really too picky when it comes to buying them except that there has to be room for me to be comfortable behind the steering wheel.
When I was young and had a much smaller build, I drove a Dodge Challenger, Chevy Nova, Ford Escort, some smaller than usual station wagon, and an S-10 pickup truck.
After packing on some weight.. I ended up with a Lincoln Continental, Crown Vic LTD, and a Jimmy. Much more spacious behind the wheel.
I still REAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY miss my Challenger though :(

You've had quite a few cars. I love the new Challenger but sporty doesn't seem to suit me anymore. I used to have a Fiero but now a mini van. Mmmmm.

Right from the choice of color it shows what our preferences are. They are expensive so we can't change them whenever we want to.You are clean on the inside which is a lot better than just cleaning the exteriors.Your kids have a nice way of saying your looks and age aren't suitable for your present car. I wish you'll get a car which suits your style and taste.

Awww thanks. Me too. I think I would look and feel great in a Hummer. But my kids get mad when I say that because it's just one of those gas guzzler. I like the one that can go through rivers and flooded areas and I would feel so safe in one. Oh well, hopefully one day. Thanks picjim, have an awesome week.

Let's see....I have a white cane, a membership to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, and I ride a bus or a taxi. LOL I guess my "car" tells the world I'm blind. ROFLMAO As for the white vehicle in the desert. I know the feeling. Hubby had a white pick up truck when we lived in AZ.

Well that does say a lot then. I don't think I can pull of a Mustang. Hummer, maybe.
So you're forever young and very clean and tidy?

Hope one day soon you'll get a newer car, unless you like the old one. Sorta like a favorite pair of jeans you just can't get rid of. Or something like that.

but this could help in assessing one's self. i am not yet cranky, my car is.
