The computer is so much company to me & when something happens to mine i get all bent out of shape..My computer decided to expire this week. I called the nice guy who works on it for me & he came & took it away.. It is old & i figured he'd call & say it could not be fixed which he did but he was teasing w/me, grrrr.Told him i was going to kick his tail when he brought it back but was too glad to see him to do that, lol. Do y'all get all bent out of shape when something happens to your computer?

Yes, I do as it is my gateway to friends and information plus work. When mine is down I feel so lost without it. makes me wonder how I used to manage before. I know one thing for sure though - I was less stressed.I never got around to telling you my plans. I have finished paying for my car and if I put every cent on my house then I should be finished paying for it end of December or end of January. When it is paid for then I am going to give 3 months notice so that the owners have time to select the right person. I just heard about another little job that will only be for a few hours a month but will bring in about US$200 a month so will go to that interview in October. I should get it easily and every little bit will help. So I am happier now that I have a plan.

These plans sound like they will go along with the staging of real estate properties that you were going to do. It will be very satisfying, I am sure, to tell the bosses "good bye".

Thanks gardengerty, I feel that this is the right time. I just feel it. I am moving on the the next stage of life and hopefully, I will enjoy what I do. I just feel sure about the move. sometimes I sit here and my heartis palpating in fear - not a good place to be. I am well in my 60"s now and this is not helping to extend my life in any way.

I know exactly how you feel, Jo. My computer is my only toy and companion. And I donĀ“t have the money to buy a new one if smething happens to it. THanks be given that your technician friend could fix yours. I would have to spend all my day making jams for noone if I did not have this machine

My world ends when I have computer problems. I am surprised I don't sleep with it sometimes! Maybe I do, since I was up till 2am the other day (finish school work) then back on at 7am to start all over! I gave up the guest bedroom for a computer room! The other day, my daughter walked in and I had books and papers all over and was typing away and she said "is that all you do all day?" I never even heard her come! My best friend asked me if I lost weight! Must be a computer diet, can't eat if I am on the computer! Yesterday I got a phone call and they had been to house and I didn't answer the door so they put a box for me on the hood of my car. Again, I didn't hear anyone. Guess she should have sent me an email saying she was coming that I might have found! I went camping for a week this summer...no computer, think my world half ended!!! Decided when I got back I NEED a lap top that I can have internet with from my phone that way I can take it with me! I think I am to old for all this!!!

Yes Anti, I do get all bent out of shape when something happen to my computer. My computer is my friend too it keep me from getting bored, it is great company too me. I do a lot of research on it. From Bible study to do-it yourself fixation. I have a friend that I call when I have a problem with mine that I can't handle. Thank God I haven't had to call him in a long time. Be blessed and have a wonderful weekend.

Yes I get up when my computer acts up! Right now it is running slow! I can't afford to take it to a computer store to get it fixed. I have a brother who is a computer programer so mhen my computer is invested with viruses or something happens and I can't use it,it goes back to him! He doesn't live to far away so I can take it to him or send it through UPS if I don't have time to drive it to my brothers.

Whenever something happens to my computer, I start to worry so much. It's not because I won't be able to use the computer for a few days, but rather that my computer has so much of my favorite music, and photos, most importantly. All those memories! One time, my laptop completely would not turn on and the hard drive was basically broken. We had to take it in to fix it, for a whopping hundred dollars us, and thankfully, they were able to recover my photos. But everything else was gone. That's why now, I back things up multiple times. I'm so scared of something going wrong with my computer!

I know how you feel. My computer got a virus last week and I couldn't get online at all. My friend is a computer expert, so he took it and tried to fix it. It took him a lot longer to fix it then I thought. Six days later I got it back, and I'm so happy it's okay now.

Oh yeah, except I can't afford any computer guy, I rely on my son or help here on mylot to help me fix it. I had a problem not too long ago and I was able to fix it through another mylotter's help.. However, for the last few days, I have been watching this red line grow on my monitor and I hope that when it reaches the top, I will still be able to use my computer. The line is obviously from damage to the screen whether I did it over two weeks ago when I was angry trying to do my math or whether my son did it playing one of his games, I don't know, but so far my husband hasn't said anything, that is the day I dread more than anything..

It's a computer guy for me. I have no other choice. U are lucky if ur son can fix it. My power supply inside my computer had gone out so don't know if ur son could have fixed it or not or had the part.As for your husband i think u need to buy a roll of duct tape & put part of it across his mouth. Thanks for responding.

Well my son could only tell me that my computer was not at risk, but it took a mylotter here to help me fix the problem of a site not being my home page..As for the power cord, we have lots of extra cords and parts, in fact my CD in my tower wouldn't open anymore, so my son took the part out of an old computer and replaced it and now it works perfectly.. As for the duck tape, I thought you were going to say to tape the red link on the screen, you really got me with that turn around..

Since I am retired and have medical issues I am dependant on my computer. This laptop is a refurbished one because my other one that I spent about $1200 on went by the wayside about six months ago. Thank goodness I had a good warranty. I just don't know what i would do without one. Although I did do okay with one for about three days when we were on vacation back the beginning of June. If it had been much longer I think there could have been some withdrawal symptoms though. LOL

Hi ya ANTIQUELADY I hate it when something goes wrong with my computer or the service provider. I am always nervous about changing the company that provides my internet just in case it all goes wrong and I am without connection. Once my kids are in bed my computer is my company and I would miss that dreadfully if I didn't have it of a night time!

Speaking of computers, mine is on the fritz. It needs a new hard drive, I'm hoping the hard drive in my daughter's lap top isn't broken when she messed it up. Once that's taken care of, I just have to see if I can get windows back up and running and I should be good as new. I'm currently using my husband's laptop, and miss mine so much. So yes, I get bent out of shape really bad when something happens to my computer.

I get all bent out of shape when I have computer problems. I do not know how to fix it sometimes plus I earn money on here daily and have alot fo things saved on it. I do not want to have to buy a new one either or have to pay a technician to fix it either.

hi dear Antiquelady I am glad your computer could be repaired and you dont need a new one now. I also would not be too happy if my computer quit working but I could then also use my husbands computer which is bigger and faster than the laptop I use right now.

No, because if something were to happen to my computer I would know it was my fault but it usualy wouldn't matter because I have messed my computer up so many times that everytime it broke down I wouldn't take it in to a shop to get fixed I'd take the time to figure the problem out and fix it my self it's kinda like a puzzle for me so overall it doesn't realy bother me but i do hate it wen i mess it up when i need to use the computer for school or something.
