So I'm going to start taking the apple cider vinegar diet plan. One teaspoon twice a day, I just took the first one. I know it works as it's helped me before. I'm gaining weight again, or atleast I was. Now that I'm working I'm probably losing a few lbs. atleast, but I want to lose more. Just one teaspoon twice a day isn't bad. I did mix it with lemon and water before and it was nasty, but I put more then a teaspoon in and it worked faster. I also thik the lemon helped with weight loss, I know it helps with allergies etc. I'm hoping to lose about ten to fifeteen lbs. or more. I am also trying to drink healthier. As I type this I have an almost empty glass of watermelon juice beside me. I've also gotten DHA Milk, gatorade's, crystal light flavored water packets, and yes some pepsi but I'm going to try to use pepsi only as a "treat". Have you ever tried / been on this diet?

Oh vinegar helps with leg cramps? That's good to know. I wonder if it will also help me with all the cramps I get after working. My feet and neck hurt after working a lot so hopefully the ACV will help there too. I just drank one teaspoon this morning, I can drink up to two per meal, that's what I've read. Of course there's many different opinions on it.

Apple cider vinegar made from the double fermentation of whole apples should be used, and it should not be distilled, filtered or pasteurized as these extra processing steps destroy many of the vitamins, nutrients and fermentation products that are thought to be important elements in apple cider vinegar's health benefits and weight loss properties. You can't just use the stuff you buy in the grocery store, it's usually pasteurized. You'll need to buy it at a health food store. It can't hurt you, but, if you're eating properly, and exercising, you will lose weight regardless.

I will have to check my grocery store. I bought it at the one I work at, and I don't think it's the stuff with the mother in it. I will check though. It's white house brand, I know that much. We sell a lot of organic / healthy food choices. I don't get time to exercise really as I work so much, but working is my exercising as I am a cashier.

apple cider vinegar IS a vinegar. I know I hadn't heard of it until a few years ago myself. It's supposed to help for more then just weight loss. I'm reading a forum now that says that any kind of vinegar works though. You just mix ACV with water or with honey and water, or with well anything I guess. It won't tase the best, but it does work, atleast for me. I've read stories where a woman drank a lot more then that and lost weight very quickly. Of course that's not healthy. It's supposed to suppress appetite and burn fat. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/specex/msg091233111293.html

Please don't use any type of vinegar because it can be harmful for your liver. Use only apple cider vinegar. It's natural and healthy.

I've used apple cider vinegar for weight loss before i didnt find it made much of a difference however it made a huge difference on my cholesterol levels and im no longer considered having high cholesterol. Rather than taking the apple cider vinegar i take it by pill from that ive gotten from health food stores. Its a little more expensive but without the nasty taste. I do take it otherwise by putting a tablespoon of it into a glass of water if i dont have the pills. How has it been working for you?

I have heard about this also but dieting is tricky and make a lot of people put on weight after they stop . I eat a lot and I dont put on weight because my metabolism is super fast . I think you should try to boost your metabolism instead . A faster metabolism equal means your body will used the food , you can eat whatever you like . Drink water to increase your metabolism speed. good luck

Apple Cider Vinegar also increases metabolism, but in a more, untasty way. I am going to be getting more fruits and veggies, making more veggie soups to eat healthier this winter, I've already decided that.

Bonbon is correct. You should not use any old apple cider vinegar especially not paseurized stuff that you buy in the grocery store. The effective apple cider vinegar is the organic one that you buy in a healthfood store. It contains a gelateneous mass at the bottom (I believe they call it the mother) I take apple cider vinegar because I am diabetic and need to stabilize my blood sugar and keep my weight from going up. Some of the medications I take will cause weight gain. With the apple cider vinegar I have not lost any weight but I am not gaining either which is a positive situation. The trouble is I often forget to take that teaspoon twice a day. I put it in a small glass of water and gulp it down. Good luck with your diet.

I work at a grocery store that carries a great deal of organic and healthy products. I got the white house vinegar as I know white house is a great brand. Their apple juice tastes wonderful. In any case, I'm not sure if this contains the mother, but I'll have to check. I don't think it's organic. I'll use this bottle up and once it's done, if I still need to, I will check into getting organic apple cider vinegar.

I've read that those take far longer to work then just drinking the vinegar. Maybe if you try the vinegar, though the taste is nasty, it will work for you.

Okey, as most of us agree, apple cider mixed with equal amount of honey is the best thing to do. it taste as good and won't affect your stomach. I have been doing this before and I love it.

No, I can't be on a diet with acid in it like that. I'd have to take an anti-acid with it like tums. I did go on a water diet where I had to drink a gallon a day and I spent lots of time in the bathroom. It worked and I combined it with a green salad at lunch every day. I had various breakfasts and suppers, but I made sure I used a small plate for supper instead of our huge ones.

I need to add a little bit of a mix. I've heard of the gallon of water a day thing, but not sure that I could do that. I like water, I just don't drink it all that much. A salad I could do though. The ACV isn't the tastiest thing in the world, and so I don't always take it..

Hey I have heard of this before and actually done it for a few days but i stopped I dunno why. Anyway the one I did was I had to mix a tablespoon of apple cyder vinegar in 6oz of water and mix it with a tablespoon of honey and had to drink 3 glasses a day. It didn't taste bad at all, actually it was kinda like a cool drink. And it was recommended to drink before meals. Is it the same one, the one you're talking about? And if it really helps weight loss, I would like to start doing it again. But here you have written "taking one teaspoon twice a day". Do you take just the apple cyder vinegar itself or dilute it in water somewhere? Sorry for so many questions!

It can also be mixed into chamomile tea with a bit of honey for a better taste!

I will have to try that. I've thought of mixing it with honey. I wonder if I can't pick up some of that diet tea and mix it with that?

Apple cider vinegar is great. I've been trying to take some everyday to see if it will help with my GERD, but I keep forgetting to take it, so I don't know if it helps yet. I did not know that it helped with weight, but that's great. Why does it do this? I have also never heard of it doing anything for allergies, but I know that it keeps mosquitoes from biting.

No, I have never needed to lose weight. Rather, I need to gain. I have a (naturally) high metabolism and eat a mostly healthy, mostly vegetarian diet; so, it is sometimes difficult to get enough calories in to keep from dropping pounds. Since coming to Florida, I've lost about seven or eight pounds, which means that a size 3 is now literally falling off me; it also means that I've started making a habit of seeking out higher calorie options. If someone really wants to lose weight and keep it off, it requires a permanent lifestyle change, rather than a fad diet. Doing so before one's metabolism starts to slow down is a good idea.

I have not tried that diet. Mine was no rice diet, but lately I have been so lenient with my diet that I gained additional lbs again.

I have also read that apple cider vinegar can help loose weight. A long time ago it was used to treat minor illnesses. I have taken apple cider vinegar right after having a child 4 years ago because of my acid reflux and it really cured it because it maintains the acid balance in the tummy. And now I am trying to get one because I will be having a baby perhaps next week and I don't want those acid attacks anymore and it might help me loose weight fast. I pour two tablespoons into a glass of water and take it 10 minutes before meals.

Hi. I use this diet and I lost few kilograms. Before I started taking apple cider vinegar I had to adjust my diet a little bit. Less carbs more proteins. Also I have exercise regime and I see the results. Please remember the flavoured water have some sugar, the same with pepsi ( lots of sugar). Try to change some carbs for proteins. I wish you all the best.
