What would you do tomorrow to help an unknown person?

OK, imagine this: You make a decision to be a "Go-Giver" in live instead of a "Go-Getter" because you realize that it is better to give to receive. So you decide that each day you will somehow find or run across at least one person in your day to do something that makes them light up with an unexpected smile. How would you go about that? What would you do? I need some ideas as I have decided that I want to do this!

I think that is a wonderful thing to do each day! I like the ideas above, they are all things you could start with... some little things that you can do are paying for the person behind you at the toll booth (i personally love this one),give a couple hours of free baby sitting to a friend, family member, clean up graffiti, send handwritten notes of thanks to soldiers or anyone for that matter, put coins in someone elses parking meter, walk your friends dog, pick up rubbish in your neighborhood... have fun and be excited with whatever you choose to do each day, and smile... a lot!

I just hope that whoever is helped, appreciates it.

I do not need to feel appreciated when doing random acts of kindness. It is nice to see people pay it forward but certainly not necessary... in my opinion.

Just keep your eyes open. Everywhere you go there's always someone who will need some help somehow. And it may not even be directly, it could be indirectly just like the person above me said putting coins in a parking meter for someone is an indirect way. I applaud you for wanting to make a difference for someone and leave them with a smile. And at the same time your conscience will feel really good.

Very true. I do not mind helping people if it is appreciated.

There are really hundreds of different things that you can do in each given day to make a person's life a little bit happier. Some examples of simple things that you can do are to donate food to local food banks or clothes to clothing drives. You can go and visit the residents in a nursing home because many of those people never have anyone come to visit them. You can also simply take the time to talk to people that you encounter in your life.

hi:) yeah that I think is a great Idea, give some random kindness everyday to strangers so in return they also will help others, like pay it forward movie. that's nice, well me personally I like to help old people in the bus or in the streets, I feel pity for them especially when they crossing the streets alone.

Sometimes it is the little things that help. In the grocery store I often find things for people who are elderly and cannot find them. I also am tall enough to get things off of the higher shelf if need be. I have helped people in Wal Mart as well. You can let people go ahead of you in lines, or give food to the food bank or to a homeless person. Participate in charities through churches as well. I have also heard of going through a toll booth and paying your own toll plus one or more behind you. Have fun doing this.

I have done this so many times for people. They have all, in return, bashed me and treated me like crap, I hate to say. I do not go out of my way for many people anymore because of it. I love to see people happy but they just do not wish the same for me for some reason.

Hello KizzyCatfish! Ive always wanted to help others especially poor people who were lack of foods, shelter, clothes and money. However, I know that I am not capable in helping those people as my salary is not enough to provide the needs of my daughter and pay my bills. Ive always wanted to help because I know how it feels to have nothing. My heart was crushed every time I saw little children begging for foods in roads which we knew that most of them were syndicate. And it hurts me a lot to see babies who were carried by there mother while begging for food and money in streets and sleeping anywhere. I know that it is impossible for me to help those people but every time a child approached me and asked for food or money, i always gave what i have like biscuits or any food, I dont gave money because I know that they needed food even more. I am always praying for those people because I know that this is the help that I could give to them.

I can think of something. Showing goodness to others can be a grand gesture or a small one but it is still the same in the eyes of God. I do try to treat others with kindness even if we do not live on the same level of life and maybe a profession not like mine. It does not take much to show others that you care. A kind word when somebody is sad can lighten the load or just being there to touch and show that there are still people around who knows what they are going through. I have my share of miseries and what makes me bounce up is the help of others.

Give a genuine compliment...it has to be honest..like telling them color of their shirt/blouses looks great on them...Don't made stuff up.. be sincere. Everyone has something special going on..
