A Handful Of Cashews

It has been rightly ascertained by healthcare personnel that taking a handful of cashews at least five days in a week could effectively bring in a welcome reduction in LDL cholesterol levels and an apparent increase in HDL cholesterol levels. Having a close watch on the minimum quantity of consumption of cashews provide reduction in bad cholesterol levels.

So this means cashew nuts have the same benefit as that of almonds. I love cashew nuts a lot so although I have no issues pertaining to cholesterol level I eat cashew nuts just the same. At least this is cheaper than almonds. However, the problem is I was told this is rich in uric acid so since I have some arthritic pain on my fingers I have to minimize eating these.

hmmmm...i honestly believe that foods which are high in uric acid must be eaten in moderation regardless of the age of the consumer. uric acid is responsible for those body pains which hound people from all ages. it must be wise to do a research on herbs which will help us get the uric acid in our system go down the drain.

Yes, nuts and legumes are very good for us. Walnuts have Omega 3 in them. They are very good for us. And almonds are good too. Kidney beans have iron. Yes, they have alot of good things in them. Nuts have oils in them that make them caloric but they are good for us. Everything in moderation.

This is true and to be very healthy, you should go with non-salted nuts. Walnuts and almonds are also great choices. They are all high in protein too and give a little energy boost. Sometimes it is hard to get into a healthy diet routine and the best way to stick with it is to make it a routine :)

i love consuming cashew nuts. however, they are quite expensive. it is a good thing that they are always available in the supermarkets considering how difficult it is to remove the meat from the shells. yes, i have tried doing so myself only to be convinced that it is better to buy those ready to eat ones. now that you have confirmed that indeed, cashew nuts have been declared to be good for our health, i believe that i should have more reasons to consume the nuts all the more. i have read though that the fruit itself is a health food, too.

I don't care about my cholesterol levels - I just like cashews! But why are they so expensive in the West? If I ate a handful each day, it would soon cost as much as an air ticket to Goa! Now that would make a pleasant holiday!

Isn't amazing how many healthy foods there are that actually taste good as well? I like all kinds of nuts. This discussion is making me a little hungry for cashews.

I love cashews and I did once have high cholesteral. The only problem for me in eating cashews is that they are high in fat, and I am trying to loose weight,. I know it is a healhty fat, but in terms of weight loss, fat is fat. I take fish oil capsules to lower my cholesteral, and I also have cheese that helps lower it. There used to be a low cholesteral bread, but I haven't been able to find it for a long time. I did also hear a few times that cinnamon helps lower cholesteral.

That's great news because I absolutely love cashews! It would be hard to stop at a handful but I think I can handle that if I know it's good for me. I'll make up the extra calories somewhere!
