Over 50 topics within an hour?

I was flabbergasted to see my inbox flooded with notifications from one user who had posted more than 50 topics on different subjects within an hour? What would be your reaction? Would you go through all of them, or delete them, or keep the notifier off. How can anyone ever have the ability to post so many topics on different subjects and so quickly too? Please help me solve this mystery.

Yes that user got added to my watch list. Never ever going to get a response from me! How they do it and why they do it is one mystery that I really don't want to know the answer to!

I can visibly see who you're talking about and I wonder about that too. I have to wonder about any sort of copy/paste activity going on, topics that they posted elsewhere in the past. I could never post so many topics in such a short time frame, I have trouble getting my articles written for a website I write for. Doesn't make any sense to me, and makes me a little suspicious at the same time.

I responded to one of them, but no others. I wonder if they'll respond to this one.

I have a pretty efficient 'net connect' but this speed is beyond me!

My speed can be quite poor at times, and I have a hard time posting even one topic in 5 minutes, let alone 50 in one hour.

I have seen it done with copy and paste before. I really do not think they can be good topics, unless this user has been writing them on paper and then just typed them all up in an hour. I question how they can properly discuss in these conditions. In the same situation, I would read them, possibly reply to some of them, and when I got tired, before I left the lot, I would delete the rest.It is too much.

If one goes to the 'friends started' section finding just one user's topics on the first page and even on the next few pages is not quite the thing users would want to see.

There is nothing mysterious about it. Perhaps this user had periodically written and saved up many topics in her Word document and one fine day when the mood took her, she just posted them all together . I would turn off the notification if it is a repetitive thing because I do not fancy so many unread mails in my box. However, I would respond to topics that I like by checking into the "friends' discussion".

I guess how it would have been with mail after mail popping in. But, as I had mentioned earlier,. if the user had opened multiple tabs, used 24 clippings from her clip board , and pasted from the saved up topics , it is no strange thing isn't it?

That is the sad part allknowing! If you notice it is the end of the month and this user may have gone a bit overboard to get some cents in. "Too much of anything" would always not fetch the desired results. A few years ago I had noticed this practice by a user[cannot even remember the name now] when there were far too many discussions from the same person. I just did not feel like responding because it was a bit boring. Nevertheless, because it was a friend I posted a few responses.

Why would anyone want to do that kala when that is not the style of participating here. If there was some benefit surely all of us would have ventured into such an activity but did you see not many are happy with this.

wow 50? lol i cannot even do more than 5 in a day. Sometimes i find those tooo overwhelming..its like i know she wouldnt be able to respond to all of that..i mean i cannot even reply to my previous posts because i am sooooo busy at work.. but i still promise i will reply. (sooner i hope) But really, its overwhelming to see such and at times, its drains the heck out of me.

It is not the question of being able to post so many topics as that is not how it works here. This is a discussion site and every topic needs to be discussed inside out. Can you imagine such a thing happening with 50 odd topics posted at one go?!

50 topics! I couldn't start that many and to keep up and answer, that is a mystery to me. Just browsing to find something you want to answer can be time consuming. It's a lot of reading. (just realized there is a bird in your avatar!)

That bird is a cuckoo. I have several of them visiting my garden. My garden is designed with birds in mind! Being a camera enthusiast I have enough subjects to capture in my garden

I would have to give up a lot of time to sit here to do 50 dicussions and keep up wiht the answering/reading part. Man the dust would pile up and dishes would never get done and my child would wear dirty clothes! That is so wonderful to have a garden that attracts birds. I have a small garden, we have many small birds come and many butterflies. We also try to attract bees, I always feel sorry for the little bees and bumble bees many people do not grow a garden anymore and the bees suffer for it. This year we had so many dragon flies that my daughter complained that they kept landing on her hair! I too like to take photographs, I forgot it when we went to the zoo and my blackberry phone camera captures some excellent pictures :)

Probably because that users knows how to give advice and likes to help others that he/she knows what he/she is doing. Maybe they only reply to their favorite topic the "discussion from my interest." I think I am able to post 50 in an hour but I don't know. Unless they are scamming and posting whatever response that may not be part of the discussions. I hope not though because that way will make me not want to post here anymore making think a lot people will do that.

Oh was that the problem... haha then yea, I usually "try" and comment if people post a comment of my response or comments back on my last comment. Haha yea, people post on their effort and we cannot judge them. I hope I am on the right track here

This is a discussion site and there are topics here where a discussion runs into pages. Merely posting topics and allowing them to languish there is not what this site is about. Also the more comments one makes the more one earns.

This is not something that happens every day and so I created a post seeking user's views. Whatever be it while it is definitely an effort it will not be taken well here as from experience it has been observed that those who put up many topics rarely come back and comment on responses received.

I am also very surprised, could make the discussion very much, just a few hours. There are several members of MyLot, in my friends list, which is like this. I want to admonish, but I do not want to create offense.

Since it is not a guidelines violation we cannot complain. I have already opted for the 'notify off' option so that I don't get notifications but one cannot stop them from clogging 'friends discussions started' tab on the home page.

Wow,that is too much. I remember one user here also who use to post topics in a row maybe 20 topics but not 50. I responded to few of his topic but since he is not commenting back and he keeps doing same thing I stopped responding to his topic. How can they manage to post numbers of topic and never respond to a single response. have a good day

luntian... has explained in box No.2 about how one can achieve this. But nothing much may come out of it as it is humanly impossible to comment on all the responses received for all topics.

Hi allknowing! I don't know if I will be amazed or irritated because of these numerous discussion. The most that I can create is three discussion per day but that seldom happens. I checked his discussion and it is mostly yes or no questions. I think he prepared it on his notepad and then copy paste it when he finished all of the 50 discussions.

hello allknowing, I got that this morning as I checked my "friends started" tab, I had to scroll down a few pages before I see a topic by another user. Once I saw so many posts, my brain automatically registered -- skip over all of them and that's what I did, I didn't read nor respond to any of them. Well, I'm not a techy, but probably that person has a lot of time to kill and the brain juice to match it. I wonder if his earnings would jump just by doing that? However ultimately he is hurting himself because people will be ignoring his topics, unless he shows his sincerity by answering to all responses. I'm curious to see how this turns out.

That will be another feat - commenting on all responses that the user would receive but from the responses to this topic not many seem to be happy and I therefore wonder if others too would skip as you have done

I also managed to write so many things in one or several hours. I write on various topics and answer other discussions. I think this is very nice and such people should be respected and valued because they love working here. I also love working here to write and reflect on various topics. nice day! Success!

If you will read the responses of other users here you will get an idea of what happens when a single user posts many topics with one go. The system gets clogged in that the topics of other users do not appear on the first page of either 'friends answered' and 'recent' discussions during the time frame when these single user's topics appear. Also these users who put up so many topics do not come back and put their comments on the responses received. No doubt we can switch off the 'notifier on' option so that we do not receive notifications in our inboxes.

Hello allknowing, That person is not on my friend's list so i have not got 50 notifications or so from that person but really thats not good to read those notifications in a day.One need to work hard even to check those notifications and even to delete those notifications from inbox. But one thing i must say that its not against the rules and one has the freedom to start as many discussions here and the best we can do is turn off ntoifier or even can delete that one from the friend's list.

You should have seen my reaction when those notifications appeared one after another without a breather and it did upset me. I was afraid my pc had a virus attack. I know it is not a guidelines violation and I have already opted for the 'notify off' for this user.

Ha! I'm thinkin' we all have the same person on our friends list lol. What I did when I found my inbox flooded was to go immediately to myLot here, search through my list of 'my friends' and turn off the notification for this person's discussions. My reaction? Bafflement. I don't see how starting that many discussions at the same time can ever get replies back. I have a hunch that once a discussion subject was posted, they will never come back to reply within the conversation. To me, that says it's all about the extra made from posting a discussion, and not caring whether it turns out to be a quality discussion in the end. Really, could YOU keep up with replying to 50 discussions at the same time and keep it a quality discussion?! There are a couple more people on my friends list who do the same sort of thing, and I turned off their notification of discussions too. What I wonder is where do they come up with all these different ideas for discussions? Maybe from other forums? It'll probably remain a true mystery, but I'll not turn my notifications for them back on!

I am an early riser and always curious to know who would have thought of me and therefore the first thing I do is open my main inbox for any such mail but instead what do I see pages of notifications from the same user. Hats off to this user for this impossible feat!

hi allknowing this is just ridiculous and probably a lot will be deleted for breaking ru les. fifty that's just plain silly. I will not keep them they are in my box too no wonder i have over three hundred backed up. I knew I was behind but fifty from one person. I think I would delete most of them rather than not be able to respond to my friends at all. I am going to go through and see whats going on.

50 topics on different subjects in just an hours? How could he/she be able to do that? Well I could only think of one probability. I think that User created and saved those posts first before posting them one by one. Now if I were you I will turn off the notification so your e-mail won't get drowned by notifications. I hope all those 50 posts are quality posts so that if I were the friend of that person I'd be very happy because it means I have lots of posts to comment on. Nevertheless, I always make it a point to turn off notifications because I don't want floods of notifications in my inbox.

There are several ramifications with this kind of activity the main being it clogs the 'friends started' section. It is not every day that one sees such a feat here in myLot. So I thought of sharing it with the community!

Yes its amazing thing that he starts 50topics in a hour that means a topic for every minutes. But simply i also delete all notifications in my mailbox. As i see what my friends started i only see in mylot. But sometimes when i see my inbox once in a week i saw messages flooded in my inbox.

if your are not interested with the topics just delete them from your inbox or just skip it. i think he needs to improve his work so he wants to write more.
