Don't it make your brown eyes blue...

No! Really! Permanently change your brown eyes blue! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/02/brown-eyes-turn-blue-iris_n_1070429.html?1320242812&icid=maing-grid7%7Caim%7Cdl18%7Csec1_lnk3%7C109432 Would you do it? My eyes are kind of a green/hazel color so I don't know... But most of the people in the world have brown eyes - would you change them if you could? Mind you, if you didn't like them, your kind of stuck with it!

I used to wear blue contacts.. but I think it would look unnatural if it was forever since, I'm Asian. But I guess it will be pretty unique!

I can understand wearing contacts... but always? I don't know if I'd want a laser around my eye if it wasn't to improve my vision

Wow. You learn something new every day, huh? (Especially here in myLot ) I have blue eyes already and wouldn't want to change them to brown if the reverse were possible. Green maybe but not brown. I'll use contacts, thank you. Heck, I don't even like the part of the eye exam where they blow a puff of air into your eyeball! I've watched those commercials about that stuff that makes your eyelashes longer and thicker but there's one possible side effect that I am not willing to chance; they can change the pigment of your eyes to brown, if they aren't already, of course, and that can be permanent. I'm happy with my blue eyes, even though there is some gray in there as well. (Doesn't this not receiving notifications suck? So far, all the recent downtime from myLot has resulted in negative things. I hope this gets fixed soon!)

It does it to the eyes? I thought it changed the pigment of the skin on the eyelid. Wow, the change in the eye color is even creepier. Kinda good news about Latisse, that eye lasth product you are talking about. First, did you know it was originally an expiramental glaucoma medication? They noticed it made people's eye lashes grow, and thus decided to market it for that. But, the good news for me, is that Latisse has also been shown to regrow hair on the heads of women who have lost their hair due to PCOS. And that is me. The research is new, and insurance won't pay for it, and I can't afford it right now, but maybe someday I can get the hair back that is now gone.

I hadn't heard about the hair regrowing thing, and I don't think it worked that well for glaucoma.... Heck, there's a wart treatment that was in the studies as a cancer treatment, but when they gave them the shots all their warts fell off... now its a wart treatment...

Hi AP. Yep, they say it CAN cause the eye pigment to turn brown and that it MAY be permanent. That's a lot of "if's" though. The color change to the eyelids will always go back to normal but your eye color may be permanent if it changes to brown. That's AWESOME news about it regrowing hair that has been lost due to PCOS! Who knows? Maybe they'll find a way to charge it to "reconstructive" treatment instead of "cosmetic". That really would be terrific. I didn't know about it being used to treat glaucoma. I've always been so afraid that they'll tell me I have it during one of my yearly exams. Now that I know about this and IF I ever do develop glaucoma, I'll be extra excited about receiving Latisse because it'll also grow my eyelashes back to the way they were when I was young. I think I could handle my eye color changing to brown if that happened to me. Besides, there are always colored Contact lenses! Maybe I could have those ocean blue eyes I've always wanted (instead of these blue-gray eyes).

This is not something I'd be interested in doing, since I am Filipino with black and and brown skin and blue eyes just don't go well with that. There are people here who wear blue or even violet contact lenses for fashion's sake but since I am not into fashion as well, the colored lenses don't appeal to me. Another thing is that this procedure of changing eye color will most likely be expensive, and I guess I'm just not willing to shell out a lot of money for an aesthetic procedure. If I did have the money I'd have my eyes lasered so I won't have to wear glasses.

I hear that! except I don't need glasses for distance... this year... just reading, can't see a thing closer than 3 feet clearly!

Oh my case is the opposite. I don't need glasses for work since my computer screen is just about 2 feet away, but I have problems seeing things that are far. I don't often wear my glasses as I don't like them, but I always end up not noticing people I know who are already smiling at me from ten steps away.

see, I went to the eye doc in Jan and he told me to stop wearing the distance glasses, my vision was 20/15, but because I'm closer to 60 than 50, I can't see up close anymore...

I have blue eyes, and it's weird how many people have told me over the years they wish they had blue eyes. Why, I wonder? Is it like so many women dying their hair blonde because they think that will make them look better? I mean the most dyed hair color has to be blonde. But I'm off your topic. My sister has blue eyes, and the weirdo got green colored contacts. She read Anne of Green Gables as a child, saw the movie, and wanted red hair and green eyes. Thankfully, she's dropped the color from her contacts and sticks with her natural blue eyes. I don't think I'd go to the trouble of changing my eye color for anything.

I've seen contact wearers who got blue eyes, and they were lovely, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't do anything like that to my eyes...

Having the blue eyes already, I'm at a loss for words as to what choice I'd make. I do find I'm drawn to blue eyes...which is neither here nor there. That said, nothing really good has ever come from that nasty Huffington broad's Post. I wouldn't do it just for that reason! While I would love to have any different coloured eyes than my dull hazel/brown ones, I would not play around with them using a laser even if you paid me. That just sounds too iffy for me. You can always get some different coloured contacts.

Eyes - What color is yours?
My eyes are brown and would not change its color for any other color. I am contented with what God has given me. Even if most of the people in the world have brown eyes I really don't think this is a reason to desire another eye color. God gave me this color so I think He did not give this color to me if this color does not fit me at all. So by all means I'd keep my brown eyes because I always cherish whatever God has given me.

Well, I would like purple eyes, but I don't want to wear contacts to make them so, and I don't hear anyone offering to change them to that color! Besides, before I go changing anything else, I would want to change my weight!

I have hazel eyes and like what God gave me. Now, my hair, is now gray, so dyed another color, but if you want different eyes, and it's safe, why not? I wear contacts and can get them to change my eye color. I could not be bothered, but I would do it, if it was fun to do.

I think that's the color mine are, but since they are green when I'm sick and I used to be sick all the time, that's what's listed on my driver's license...

Wow! No changing for me...I have brown eyes that have the occasional hazel look. I love the way blue and green eyes look but I think it is just because I don't have them..lol...I might have wanted to change them when I was younger but now...I'll just keep them. I think that colored contacts is a better option to surgery. If one was really serious about it, they might wear some for a while just to see.

I would agree about trying the contacts. but I also don't see the point in changing the color - I think it might be something young people might do and later regret...

I am only wishing for better eyesight. I am quite satisfied with my brown eyes because it's the perfect shade that could match my entire look, my skin, my hair. I would not want to have to change its color. But I respect that other people would love to change theirs. I just hope these procedures are 100% safe and that the people who try to undergo this are psychologically prepared.

Changing eye color is fun! Mine are green/hazel and the keep changing from light brown to green, depending on my mood. Warm brown eyes are so pretty as well! Eye colors are so unique, though some people might have a reason if they want to change it so much.

I see no reason why someone want to change their brown eyes blue. How do they change them? The colour of people's eyes differ from race to race.We must take them as they were.

Hi ElicBxn, Personally, blue is my favourite colour. I would love to change my hazel brown eyes to blue. But I wouldn't. Because I am born with dark black hair, and yellowish brown skin, which goees very well with my hazel brown eyes. If I change my eyes blue, I will look like alien! That is very horrible. There are reasons why blondes have blue eyes, and have paler white skin. Whatever the scientific reasons, it does look better with blues eyes when you blonde and with pale white skin. Unless i can change my hair and skin colour too, I won't change my eyes colour. I want to look beautiful, not abnormal and weird.

Why would anyone with brown eyes want to change them to blue? Brown eyes are stronger. Blue eyed people are always told to protect their eyes from the sun, but brown eyes don't have to be protected as much.

My eyes are hazel and I guess I've gotten used to the color. But then when I got my first real job I found out I was partially color blind. It made me wonder why I took those Art appreciation classes in college. When I was young, I had a thing about girls with brown eyes but I got over it. I still like the Van Morrison song though (Brown Eyed Girl).

The thought of having any type of eye surgery gives me the creeps. If I wanted to cange my eye color, I would get colored contacts and not do anything that can't be changed back. My eyes are kind of gray and look blue sometimes, and I am too old to be worried about things like that anyway.
