Yesterday was not a good mylot day for me so I wrote this.

What do you do if you cannot access MyLot, due to technical difficulties on their part? I try to find a way to work around it. Not always possible. . . So then I go work on other websites, not as interesting, but still something to do online. In the end, I make up posts and send them to myself or put them in notepad, or some other thing, like Microsoft Word. Then I go do something else. No use in getting mad, or upset. I think I will go make lunch now, and then crochet, and then plant some tomatoes and peppers. It is still a good day.

I like to be here, but I can always find something else to do. I did all those other things yesterday, and I worked today. I did merchandising in three stores and then from 2-8 pm I did a sampling event. I saw that MyLot was back up and I had two discussions written and ready to post so I did, right before I went to do sampling.

MyLot has been playing up a lot over the last two weeks and I never got mad. I started getting busy elsewhere. I have a few site where I was a member for years but had never done much - well now, thanks to myLot, I am active on those again now too. In fact I got quite busy - but the ironing still didn't get done, not even this time

Hey Diana, speaking of other sites, is that you on FB who requested me? This Diana is in Italy, but there are no mutual friends and I am always cautious if someone requests me and not only so I not know them, but we also don't have any common friends.

Yes, I should have gone to some other sites. I actually am trying to figure out how to get funds to Alert Pay, when I am not wanting to go send a wire transfer. I have an investment I want to do from there. I have worked around MyLot however I can when it is acting up. That is why I composed two discussions last night. I knew I would want to post them as soon as that run time error quit acting up, and I did, in between other things I had to do offline today.

I'm glad you were able to do something productive when you were not able to get into mylot. I just wish I was more up to doing this. Unfortunately with everything going on in my life I lucky if I ever get in here any more. I guess any day I am able to get out of bed is a good day. I have a final project I need to knock out by Monday night so I'd better get at it. Have a great weekend!!!

I am mostly working this weekend. I am going to try to figure out when I can go to the blood donation center again. I have some regular small jobs I do on Monday and Friday and sometimes a bigger project as well as I did today. What subject is the project in?

I have to put together a powerpoint presentation and a 7-10 page paper for my class on culturally responsive classroom. I should have been working on it for the last couple of weeks, but because of health issues I was not able to. Now I have to rush and probably won't do very well, but oh well... That's what I get for trying to attend grad school when fighting cancer...

Though I was wondering what I had done to my computer, I was glad it happened on Thursday for it the day of the week that I have the least time for the computer. See, one can survive without Mylot but I don't know for how long.

That worked out okay for you. I have less time on Monday, Saturday and Friday. I think I missed the last time it went down for that reason. We do miss our friends and the interaction.

Really I just stew about the fact that I cannot access the website for a brief second and just move onto other things that I had to do. Really, there is nothing more than I can do. Yelling at the website will not make it come up any faster, any website for that matter. I should know, I really have tried to do that a few times right in the past. So yeah, there are articles to be written, blog posts to be written, things to be done elsewhere, so really while I had intended to do those things later, things just got switched around. I do really hope that when myLot or any other website is down, it is up later in the day once again, so I can really just do what I intended to do then. Of course, there are times where the entire day is lost but oh well, just roll with it.

myLot is like the ice-cream truck: sometimes when you're out to get some ice-cream, it's out there too. Sometimes it seems like it's out there every day. But when it's not, it's not like there's a "schedule" that the truck-driver has to keep for you! It's just 'not a day for ice-cream' ... there's other stuff to do. myLot's just an extra thing like that---something I do between YouTube, Xomba (kind of an open news/opinion journal), Blogger (where I have one blog on random stuff, one on word-histories, one for grown-ups, and a few more I can't remember just now), email, Facebook and Hi5.

Glad to hear that you didn't let the fact that MyLot was down keep you tense and upset. You continued to be productive. You have varied interests which I think helps. What are you crocheting now?

I am working on an afghan that should have been done ages ago, but I am doing a very tight single crochet out of baby yarn. It is for the three year old granddaughter. I am expecting a new grandchild soon, so that will be the next project. I swear, I will do broomstick lace or hair pin lace so it goes together really quickly.

My grandma used to make shawls of hair pin lace. It is worked on a wire frame that is bent like a hair pin. Somewhere I have a set of them. The lacy strips are then crocheted together. Really pretty as I remember. I have even seen instructions online to make the wire frame. Broomstick lace was real popular in the 70's. My mom made my son a bunting. It can be worked on an old fashioned wooden broomstick or usually it is done on a size 50 knitting needle. You make loops and bundle them together with crochet stitches. Either of these work up fast.

I usually either go in and work on either bears or jewelry. Yesterday I worked on the neighbor's yard and did some planting in my yard. Plus of course I did some sewing. My attention span isn't what it should be as I am getting very nervous in the back of my mind about the trip on Tuesday. I wasn't prepared for the test results that I got so I am worried about what the treatment will be. When I get desperate and have discussion ideas, I will write them in the Microsoft Office word so that I can copy and past them in the Lot.

I posted a discussion about what happened with the cardiac testing I went through a week ago Tuesday. It was during the time that the Lot was acting up and no one's discussions were getting through to their friends. Short version is that I was diagnosed with Myocardial Ischemia. When I was developing in my Mom the muscle that was supposed to be behind the artery to the heart grew in front of it. Normally it doesn't affect people but in rare cases it will cause the artery to the heart to close down so that the oxygenated blood doesn't reach the heart. They can treat it either with bypass surgery or they can treat it with beta blockers and I think maybe blood thinners. Of course with my luck it turns out that I am one of the rare cases where the artery is blocked. Because of it I am tired more of the time and have other symptoms like lack of concentration and loss of appetite. I find out what is going to happen on the 15th of this month. What has me a bit concerned is the fact that I had the testing done on May 1st and got called on the 3rd about the results and am getting into the cardiac clinic on the 15th. With all the clinics I have been to at Stanford it takes at least 6 weeks to get into a specialty clinic. To get into one in two weeks is unheard of! Hopefully I've gotten you all caught up... Except that I get to spend Mother's day enjoying myself sewing teddy bears...

I try to type out any discussions i think of to post for later - i tend to forget to post them though! Its not useful getting mad about it being down. It would be awesome if there was some sort of explanation as to why it keeps going down. Are the tomatoes and peppers you planted just seed or already started and ready to be transplanted? Too cold here at night still to put our plants out.

Our last day of frost has passed about a week ago. I bought plants, and will probably grow them in containers. I got lazy and did not get them into the containers yet. I am trying various heirloom tomatoes, because they usually have more flavor and they just intrigue me. The only thing I actually got in where I wanted it was a pot of rosemary.

Hi GardenGerty, I do not mind that Mylot is offline for a couple of hours, since I have other sites to work on. I just hope that the downtime takes place during a quiet time, and not a time when so many people are online. I think mylot is still going great.

I am in a way grateful to "Run time..." which is the only way we can get over the myLot addiction I did so many chores which were pending since long. The only thing which was not something I liked was to check frequently if all was well. If there was some indication from myLot informing us when things get back on track that would indeed be a great boon.

I do not know if they could have sent out some mass e mail. Maybe they were so busy trying to fix things they did not want to take time to notify us. Maybe they will tell us eventually what went wrong. It is very freeing to know that you cannot do something on here so you must go do something else.

This happened to me yesterday. When I logged in mylot,a notification popped up:"Server Error in/ application".I haven't thought it was due to technical difficulties then,I thought there was something the matter with my computer instead. It was annoying me very much -so much for my idea of replying to my friends'comments. However I didn't resign myself to it.I logged in my Yahoo inbox and read every comment my friends made.Fortunately, they put it right today.

Mylot has this run time error since two days ago. I think it's the same everywhere as I open this site everyday. Since it has happened before, so I wasn't panic or something. I mean, when the first time I found this error last week (I guess), I was surprised but I didn't do anything. I have read a lot that mylot sometimes got trouble, but which site that doesn't? So why panic? Besides, I got a lot of things to do to keep me busy and forgot the run time error. Heheheh...

MyLot is my favorite hangout but when it's down like it was yesterday, I keep busy (although I kept checking to see if it had come back up.) I never seem to have trouble finding things to do. My daughter came over in the late morning yesterday and we planted more garden, then went to see the house she is going to buy. We went grocery shopping which I'd put off forever, then I came back online and wrote a few things for Textbroker before uploading some files for Dollar Stretcher where I work very part time.

I don't write as much for Textbroker as I could, but it gets boring after awhile. Dollar Stretcher is a site about living frugally and personal finance. It's at stretcher.com and that's not a referral link! I make nothing by telling others about it.

I do not write as much for Textbroker as I should. I am not ranked as high as I should be and so there is not as much for this average girl to do, or I am not there at the right time. I have been busy because one of the agencies I worked for as an independent contractor has been acquired by another company and I have had tons of paperwork and training to do. What is Dollar Stretcher?

hi gardengerty ohmy me neither. I did answer a lot of my emails from my best childhood chum. we got back together via email and my sons web site where she found my email add y. Although she is miffed that I did not still vote republican and did vote for Obama she has overlooked my treachery for the most part, and sends me interesting articles and the ones that are intended to show me my ills as a democrat I just read and not comment on. why should two people who were always close let the damned politics upset their friendship?any way I am so glad to get back on mylot. I think I also cured another problem . I was getting a message mylot cable unplugged mylot now connected and kep tgetting it. finally it eve stopped my getting my mail so I shut off my computer and reset the modem and the router and maybe cured the problem I hope.I bet a ton of mylotters felt like we two did.but its up now and running. yea.

I actually did some of the surveys and other things I had put off to catch up on Mylot. I have started writing for another site too so I did an article for that. I was alittle weirded out that it went down. It was short and then I went back to Mylot. BUt low and behold it went down AGAIN last evening and I was sure glad to see it up again today when I got up. Now I need to really make up for lost time.

I really miss mylot when it goes down for a long period of time which is what happened yesterday. I was getting ready to post something and found that there was a server error. Now that is ok for a short while. I have other sites that I am on and spend more time on my other sites. I went to work. I kept trying to access mylot but could not. I began to feel frustrated and lonely for mylot. I continued to keep checking to see if it was up. Finally, I gave it up very late and went to bed. However, I did not sleep well and got up in the middle of the night. Would you believe that I checked mylot and it was still down. I was feeling a loss and I began to get just a little concerned that just maybe mylot had called it quits. I thought about you and my other mylot friends. I really missed mylot. Eventually, I went back to sleep. I had a real busy morning. When I next tried mylot, it was up. And I felt really glad.

I somehow never think it is gone for good. I guess because I have been here so long. I do miss my friends here, and that is why I have stayed so faithful Today was a day when I was really busy all morning so I was glad when I got on around 1:00 the site was back. I am very tired right now and have to go to bed. Unfortunately I cannot be here tomorrow very much, but I feel like I have begun to touch base with my friends today.

I forgot to add that I wrote about mylot when it was down. I think that you know that I am on a few online writing sites. When mylot was down, I wrote about having fun and earning some money on mylot for Triond. It was 2 a.m. Mylot had been down since the afternoon and I was unable to sleep. It was a very positive and upbeat article. I have had a few views. I have some very busy days and not a lot of time for mylot but I try to post at least five times a day minimum.
11 May 12
I have been in that position over the past couple of days! Although I haven't been a member here for very long, I have persisted in trying to access MyLot and been disappointed when I've not been able to get on. I usually start looking on Pinterest and looking for possible ideas for pinning or boards. I'll then check my forum posts as I am a member of many reptile forums. Next up I'll look to see if I've been sent any survey invites...not always any there so if there isn't, I then attempt to do something productive! StumbleUpon helps me burn time, I love it sooo much! Of course there's a lot of rubbish but rating the sites makes the content better after a while.

Those are some good choices. Compared to some other sites I am on, MyLot is very seldom down. It is certainly making up for it this last week or so. What kind of reptiles do you have or are you interested in?

I keep gecko species - Eublepharis, Uroplatus, Rhacodactylus, Paroedura, Gekko...too many to mention! I keep tarantulas at the moment too, a way of exposure for my fear of spiders. Funny thing is I love tarantulas but still get a bit antsy around those little tiny house spiders!
