When money is a concern, getting free stuff is always a good thing. Especially when it's things that you need. About a month ago, we were blessed with a lawnmower, now I don't have to borrow the work mower to get my grass cut. I can't always get a hold of it anyways when I really need it. All I needed was a trimmer, and I'm picking one up tomorrow. I don't know what it will be like, but I guess I will find out when I pick it up. On Sunday, I will be picking up a treadmill. This will help me in my recovery of my broken foot, and will also help me in losing weight. This is tricky as it is, so the treadmill will help. I've gotten a lot of free items over the years, and it's great to be able to save money not having to buy expensive items. I look forward to getting more free items that I need in the future.

kris...Do you use "freecycle"? That site lists free stuff daily. You've just got to go and pick up the stuff?

Yeah, free stuff is a blessing to me, too. The only free stuff I ever got was a really cheap DVD player from one of the company Christmas raffles. That was 5 years ago. I know this girl from work who owned an xbox and kinect, and would use one of the dance games to work out. She was passing by a mall one day and saw that a contest had been set up inside the mall featuring Xbox and Kinect, and specifically that game that she played often. First prize was a fridge, second prize was a blow dryer, and she didn't remember the third prize. She was actually after the blow dryer since she needed a blow dryer. Long story short, since she's had enough practice, she won the contest hands down. There was a little confusion about the prizes since she wanted the blow dryer really bad, but she won first place. In the end, the hosts agreed to giving her the blow dryer. Lucky for whoever got second place to win the fridge! That costs way more than a blow dryer, and if you're going to get your own house, you're gonna need a fridge!

I feel you. I like free stuff too. I have found some sites where you can order free stuff. It has been fun as can be. I think it's God's blessings, and we should not pay if we don't have to.

I have often gotten free things that I need, and it is good. We actually have a free exchange place at our transfer station. They call it the Share Shack. My stove was free, and I get some other neat things as well.

I love free stuff too. About three years ago, I had a rather lucky experience. When my husband came to Canada, he could not bring his computer with him, because he didn't have enough room. For a whil, we shared mine. Anyway, one day I was walking to the cafe when I literally stumbled over a perfectly good monitor (not a flat screen), and a tower. The tower was stripped pretty clean of componants, but my hubby is a creative geek, so it would be useful. Since I was on my way to the cafe, and on foot, I called home, and then called a taxi. I stuck the tower and monitor in the cab, gave the driver $10, and sent it home. Hubby recycled all the parts, and is still using the wonderful monitor.

I love free things, too. It doesn't matter what it is, I am interested. Of course, it has to be clean. If it is food, it has to be within the expired date. I have received all kinds of things. And I test products and in that way I get free things. I love it!

Im glad that you have that kind of free stuff there in your place, I don't think we have that here in my country. I love free stuff too but most of it is from friends, they told me they like to give me free stuff as they knew I was very careful in handling things. They like to gave me dresses and bags. Sometimes when they change some furniture stuff, they always ask me if I want to have it rather gave it to others.
