Top five reasons to re-elect the President

United States
August 4, 2012 7:41pm CST
1. Kept promise, no tax hike on the lower 98% of earners. 2. No more combat troops in Iraq. 3. College kids not going bankrupt paying off their federal loans. 4. Trying to rebuild manufacturing through saving the auto industry, building green jobs. 5. People with pre-existing problems can't lose health coverge. Altogether these indicate a leader looking out for people in the shadows, or as George Bailey said in "Its A Wonderful Life", for the people who do most of the living and dying in this town. Now I imagine some people may disagree... some may even have more reasons to add to my list. What do YOU think?

Actually, he failed miserably at number 1. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/promise/515/no-family-making-less-250000-will-see-any-form-tax/ Anyone out there who does not have health insurance will have to pay his tax/penalty. 2. He promised to have us out of there within 16 months. It's been almost 3 times that and our troops are still there. 3. Since when did that stop happening. Go on and ask college graduates how their doing financially. Many of them don't have jobs and can't afford to pay the loans back. There's nothing saving people with student loans from going bankrupt. 4. Trying doesn't mean much to me in this case. All he did was screw the people by giving away our money and buying up GM while giving them an extra bailout to pay back the first. Meanwhile the unions made out like bandits. In the case of Chrysler, they're hardly an American company anymore. Soon they'll be an Italian company. 5. It was never an issue with those people "losing" coverage. The problem was that those people couldn't get coverage, or couldn't afford it due to preexisting conditions. Now he's basically saying that you can go without paying a dime into an insurance company for years, get hurt, sign up for insurance that day, and get treated, thus costing the insurance company, and people that already had insurance, more money to cover those that can now abuse the system.

Last time I voted against Obama; this time I will probably vote for him simply to keep Romney out of the White House. I would rather vote for Johnson (Libertarian); but, right now I feel that if I vote for Johnson it will let Romney into the White House

I feel like my 3 year old would do better than Obama. She sure as heck wouldn't mess this country up as bad as him! In my opinion he doesn't even belong in this country MUCH less RUN it!!!! I don't know about Romney, I really have to research what he is about. Why would voting for someone else put Romney in?

1. Epic fail. Perhaps, you should go research that statement again. 2013 will really confirm that lie with "Taxaggedon." 2. Combat troops are still in Iraq. Again, you need to verify your statements. 3. College kids are still going bankrupt. Worse, their job prospects are only sitting around 50/50 in this economy and the rate of return received on their education expenses is the worst it has ever been. 4. He should have let it go bankrupt. That would have made stronger car companies than the ones we have now. A lot of investors wouldn't have been as badly hurt either. 5. At what cost? News flash. Pre-existing condition health insurance is still very unaffordable for many people. I think you really should do some major research into President Obama's record before you create another top 5. Most of those five are either false or have serious flaws. Those are probably the 5 top reasons not to re-elect the President.

As far as No. 1 goes, that is just not true. His health care bill is increasing taxes on everyone. In to 2013 under that bill the percent of income that determines how much medical expenses can be deducted goes from 7.5% to 10%. Then there is the requirement that people have to get health insurance or pay a tax. Not to mention what will happen in the future with taxes because of the enormous increase in National Debt that he has caused. For 2. as someone else said we still have troops there and, also, it was the Bush surge that contributed more to being able to get the troops out that have been gotten out more than what Obama has done. Someone else covered No. 3. On No. 4, Ford took no bail out and is doing just as well or better than those who did. Everyone is having to pay for his so called saving of the auto industry. I agree with others above on No. 5.

I am not an American. But the one good thing he did for your nation and which required guts was discourage outsourcing. I know this sounds anti-Indian. But no amount of outsourcing is likely to help my nation unless our politiicians tighten their belts and do something about population and power. So outsourcing to India is like trying to fill a bucket with a hole. At least those who can survive, let them survive. I see no hope at this end. :)

Actually, one of his top jobs commission advisors is also one of the top outsourcers in the country - Jeff Immelt of GE. GE closed numerous plants in the US, throwing Americans out of work and then opened new plants in China! This is the guy advising the president on how to create jobs?!?!? Not to mention that GE paid ZERO taxes last year. Sorry, Obama is an epic fail on this count, too.

I said he discouraged. He did not ban I suppose. But there is a way to keep jobs home. Offer tax incentives or tax outsourcing business more. That is the difference. Predecessors didnt do that na.?
