I have been responding like crazy on a rainy sad looking Monday and found one of my favorite mylotters also responding. The first part of his Name "Unforgettable" sparked a memory of a song sung by Nat King Cole that I loved and still do although I do not remember how many years ago he sang it.The song " Unforgettable" now is running in my poor mind although I love it, its still a bit distracting., Just got all my marbles back and now this! Your take : fellow Mylotters.

My mom absolutely LOVED Nat King Cole and though I was turned off by his singing (As a kid, I never liked anything my mom did) yet I know that song well and I think I will do what I think you should do, look it up on youtube and let the music begin!!!

The music is probably as much as I can go, still can't handle drums right now and that is so unlike me, most of my music has drums, including drum wars..lol Actually I am feeling better. I stopped taking the anti-nausea pill, because it did give me an awful headache and I'd like to stop the inhaler, except my coughing is still not productive and then I read on the instructions, "Do not stop taking this medication" Huh? I have to stop sometime...lol

I think that my generation knows that song mostly due to his daughter remaking it in the early '90s. That was certainly how I was introduced to both the song and to Nat King Cole. Be glad that is the song that you have stuck in your head. I can think of quite a few songs that I wouldn't want to have stuck in my head.

hi wilson yes indeed as like the Oscar Meyer Weiner one for example catchy melody but sappy words. I loved the wa Natalie sang that and she had as much talent as her dad. I heard them sing that together on television one time and it was unforgettable to me too.lol

I do remember this song very well and loved Nat King Cole singing it. I saw him perform in the mid sicties when he came to London. I was a teen and I so enjoyed his performance. But unfortunately I now dislike the song. and yes, there is a reason. During my long complicated recovery from surgery, my sister would begin drinking at 6pm sharp every evening. By about 10 pm she was so drunk and then she would blast this song at the highest volume and play ot repeatedly. During this time, she would often stumble into my bedroom and I would pretend to be asleep whilst praying that she would not fall on my chest So 'unforgettable' brings back horrid memoreis now instead of beautiful ones

I feel for you and them. She must ha ve been lacking som ething and thats why the divorce.

Oh yes I remember the song quite well. I can not place the date but it was certainly a long time ago, even I was young when that was popular. I am certain that it would not be the 1960s because I followed the charts avidly then, so it was probably the 1950s. I do have a decent collection of recordings from the 1950s, such singers as Marion Ryan and Pat Boone, but was never really fond of Nat King Cole.

That is a little earlier than I would have guessed, but of course it was one of those songs that never seemed to die out and was played frequently over a long period of time.

It was published and recorded by Nat in 1951. The "duet" with Natalie was released 40 years later in 1991.

I was in my eary thirties. Our son was born a year later. lol Yes the duet was much later and Natalie really was talented too wowl.

I get music from choir running in my head. Have some now in fact. I understand it is disturbing. I also have a loudly purring cat on my lap while my brain is singing "It happened a long long time ago.in a town called Bethlehem". I never know what triggers mine. Is it possible for you to replace that ear worm with another song?

hi Gardengerty ohI do love the sound of a cat purring. Yes I was thinking of that song about Bethlehem where the man dreamed of standing in the village square. But I can never remember the rest of it. "I dreamed a dream so fair" that is about all I remember now. We used to sing that at Christmas doings in our church when I was growing up .Odd we always went to church every Sunday all through my childhoor and teen years. Now I never get to go to church. i loved singing in the choir both in our home Church then in a b aptist church ewhen I was in college. The Baptistchurch was very close to the U of South Dakota so we all ended up going to the college group in that churchl I was not a baptist but I enjoyed going there anywayl

SoI will use our search engine and in six year of not getting a reward will I get one? I doubt it.

Hi sweetie! It's gray and cloudy here too, plus rain..yuk. Doesn't give a good background for my little Christmas tree, lol! Beautiful song and I do really like hearing it on the radio. I did look it up for you and some say he sang it in 1952 while others say 1954, so I'm not quite sure. All I know is I remember hearing it all the time when I was little. His daughter did a great job with it too in the 90s.

Oh, Raja... I know that song too (too old yes, but I know it) It's a bit frustrating when something's running in your mind like a song or something that has happened a while ago...and you cannot think of the others that you would like to think. It happens to me sometimes when I heard a song and then suddenly it just keeps on playing in my mind.

I love this song as well and in fact, I have collected both versions of this song where the second is a digitally mastered version duet sung with Nat's daughter, Natalie Cole. It is a very touching song and I would recommend you watch the song's MV which is really enjoyable. In the movie, the Ultimate Gift which stars my favorites James Garner and Bill Cobbs, there's this particular song "Crazy" sung by Patsy Cline which is really nice too. I would recommend it if you had not watched this movie yet and listen to the song.

It happens to all of us. I remember that song growing up. My mother used to play those old songs. I also heard plenty of Frank Sinatra also and my mother loved Jerry Vale. Me, well, I am a heavy metal kind of person. Not that I dislike those old songs, its just my era. I get songs stuck in my head all the time. And it is always something that triggers it.

hi john if you marry try not to marry a smoker, they will break your heart. I know nicotine addiction is tou gh but my own dad stopped c old t urkey so it can be done b ut my hubby ref used toeven try. the stuff ruined his heart. do marry if yuo c an so you will not be lonely.also one thing we both had is that we were both believers ih God.

I suspect she might have got the allusion, but the local culture in the 80s was to ignore anything that smacked of the Bible. Sorry smoke killed your husband. Strangely, whilst filters can protect the lungs to some extent, I have the impression that they endanger the heart more, because the carbon monoxide level increases. At least you made silver - If ever I marry, I wonder if we(whoever she is)'ll make that.
