I am trying this again. (It didn't post right before.) I recieved this email this evening: This is a personal email directed to you. I am Dave Dawes, my fiancee and I won a Jackpot Lottery of £101 million pounds ($156 million) in October, and have voluntarily decided to donate the sum of £1 million pounds ($1.56 million) to you as part of our own charity project to improve the lot of 5 unknown lucky individuals all over the world plus 15 close friends and family. If you have received this email then you are one of the lucky recipients and all you have to do is get back to us so that we can send your details to the payout bank. Contac me on: (some hotmail address) Can you believe it? She provided a link to a UK newspaper about them giving some of their winning away. I would think even that can be copied some how and anyone can makeup a email address with their name on it. I am going to email back right away with the name of my bank, account number, routing number and oh, ya, maybe I should send my social security number too just incase my bank info isn't enough. NOT!! LOL I also recieved a Yahoo Failure Notice afew days ago from some weird guy. He was actually using my main email address and I got the Failure Notice that a couple of his emails(SPAMS)had not gone through. Had his name on it as being the user on my email address and everyhting. I reported it and changed my password to about 15 digits. lol Now this. So what do you guys think? Funny or what? You guys getting anything like this lately?

Not funny. These scammers wouldn't exist if they weren't able to actually fool some people out of their money.

I have these e-mails that keep turning up in my spam box. Today, one got through to my inbox. I guess spam filters are only so good. Plus people keep figuring ways to get around them. Vigara instead of viagra, etc.

about those sms and emails someone told me, they may be from some terrorist group and they use some hidden code language which only they can understand, they send such mails and sms in bulk so that police can not catch them..

Hi, I also receive such massages many times. But I delete it immediately. They say that you win the lottery and you have to send money for further procedure. These are all scams we shouldn't bother them.

Don't believe it. I get lots of those e-mails. Most end up in my spam guard, some go through to my e-mail. If you were to respond to such an e-mail they would ask you for money up front for fees and taxes etc. There would be one demand after anotherr. You would never see your own money again or any of the so called winnings. The golden rule is if you did not buy a ticket you could not win anything. Glad you checked it out.

I have received these kind of emails and deleted them but to my total amazement a few years ago, a very business savvy GF of mine was tempted to send out her private information. She said that it may be true. I told her to let them deduct their take and send you by FEDEX a cheque with whast was left of the money. She did this and of course no response. I am so astonished that she nearly got taken in by this.

Nope I haven't received any emails like this, but yet, I haven't been checking much of my emails lately. That is funny that scammers think that most people will just up and give out all of their personal information. Although I have known that a few people have fallen for scams like this and then all their money was taken out of their account. Oh wow, 1.56 million dollars though, what would you do with the money. Wow, sure with that amount of money, I'll give you whatever you need. Yeah right. These people are really ridiculous huh?

there's always a lot of fraud emails and pretend you have won to something yet the odd part you didn't join any. I used to received also such kind of email and never bother to open there's a humor before a wide spread of net virus once you open the anonymous email it eat ups the files from the software so be careful and it's one way from these people to steal or do crimes to other fellowmen so be careful.

when im receiving that kind of mail, I ignore immediately. because if you let your mind reading it,they only want to attract you. there's might be a chance that you follow them and give all of your personal data/ accounts. im 100% sure that those kinds of mails are scams, I receive that kind of mail too for many times. better to ignore it or else all of the money on your bank account will lost.

Yeah, I've gotten a few of these. One of them claimed to be from Coca-Cola, claiming I had one their international lottery sweepstakes. Another claimed to be from an FBI agent saying that I'd won a different international lottery. I just have to laugh when I see these and feel sorry for the vulnerable people who fall for them. The way I figure, if I didn't enter any lottery sweepstakes, than I can't win one. You have to play to win!

I had a scammer on Craiglist about a year ago. I was tryint to sell a product and he emailed me first as a guy, then a women, back and forth. Was going to send me this huge check if I would cash it, take what the product cost out and then send him the cash. Right! That was a funny one. And he was ordering me to do this and that and was a real jerk. I reported him! Most of them I just delete.

Yes, this is also an usual thing to me. I think I have received atleast 100s of such e-mails in my inbox. Once, I was surprised when such kinds of promotions were forwarded to my mobile number also. I never respond to such spam and unauthentic e-mails because there is some possibility of getting into trouble if i responded to acquire those attractive amounts. :)
