Late nights

I have never fancied late nights not even in my teenage years. I am a 'early to bed, early to rise' kind of person. Some prefer to go for late night shows, be it movies, dance shows or whatever bragging about it the next day announcing they had a full night out!! Where do you stand. What is your opinion about spending late nights outside rather than sleeping cozily in one's bed!

I have never been fond of late nights out. I like coming home rather than spending a whole night out. Even the days when I was living in a hostel I always ensured I was back on time.

There was a time when I had trouble sleeping. Even in that phase I would not think of spending that time out of the house.

Some people enjoy spending nights out with friends, drinking, gambling. Actually such tastes eventually destroy families.

Sleep is a precious commodity that many long for and it is a wise thing to choose to sleep as early as one can.

I would prefer to be early in, as that is how my natural body clock operates, however my job requires me to be out for late nights. I still wake up relatively early. I think more of us should pay attention to what our rhythms are. I would love to be up very early every morning.

When there is something going on, for instance, if I have guests, etc I sometimes sleep late but get up at the same time as I do everyday. That I suppose is my rhythm. What was your rhythm in your younger days?

Even as a teen I would get up early. I enjoyed getting up at 5:30 and having coffee with my dad. I tend to wake up around 7 now, even if I have worked to midnight. I really feel as if I am losing the best part of the day. I am really sleepy about ten in the evening. I am doing a no no right now. I came home from work and got online. It is way past time for me to be sleeping.

I had been sheltered by my parents. So, I missed a lot during my teenage years. When I met my husband in College, he wouldn't be asking me out on late nights as well. I am fine with that coz just like you, I sleep early and wake up early, too. But sometimes, I would be wanting to join friends coz I felt that I had missed a lot of getting myself to enjoy being with them. It is very seldom however that I join them. And when we do get together, we part ways the next day---around 6am!

We too had a sheltered life but what I really wanted to do was dance and had this dream of my first dance to be with my husband. But my husband being shy never danced in public and so I have still not danced in public excepting what they do solo these days and that to very rarely. I have had late nights not out of choice but while on holidays we would be taken to places to watch plays and stuff. I remember watching the skyline on Fremont Street in Las Vegas a spectacular view running miles and miles of it, standing on the road side. And ofcourse some times midnight mass, watching the year end on tv and so on.

if it's not due to work, then i'd also have an early night. during winters when it gets too cold, i want to get under the covers as early as possible. i usually wake up early so i prefer to sleep before midnight.

maybe all of us who responded to your discussion have had our share of late nights when we were young. i'm in my late forties and i don't enjoy staying out late now.

#when I was young I used to like going to a party on a Friday night and then I married and we enjoyed our weekends with friends. I like the odd night out enjoying myself with friends but don't do it often now I really don't think that I could manage two nghts in a row though without soending half of the day in bed rsting. Not necessarily sleeping but resting

Did you have a group of friends that met at these parties or was it just you and your significant other? What dances were in vogue during your time. Any tangos, waltzes, foxtrots? Who did you save the last dance for?

I have this habit of staying awake till late night since i was a teenager.Actually i used to study at night when its peaceful, then in holidays i used to watch movies at night with friends. Then i started working on ships and had to work lots of times at nights. So due to all these factors i became habitual. However this is not a good habit, i mean sleeping late, its best to sleep early and wake up early.Only spoiled people like me do it

You had more reasons than having got spoilt that you got into this habit! Now it is just a matter of getting what you want. With a bit of practice you can change your schedule. "Early to bed, early to rise makes one healthy, wealthy and wise." If you have this in your mind and go for it you will have a new schedule before you know it.

i dont like night life either, if there something i enjoy about staying up late, that is fireworks. other than fireworks on new years eve i wouldnt opt staying up late. i dont really understand why a lot of people are so enthusiastic about sleep deprivation.

Most of us have just a selected few nights when we would stay awake and that too in the confines of one's own home. Fireworks would certainly be a good reason for one to be spending a night out!

i had some trouble sleeping in my teenage days. but now that i am a working person i hardly sacrifice my sleep or stay up all night just for a party or hang out with friends. i would go out and have party but i follow a a curfew i set to myself. i normally leave them by 8-9pm that's the latest.

It seems that it is only those in their teens fancy late nights as once one has to face responsibilities their priorities change.
