My reaction to the changes

I am trying to keep an open mind about MyLot. I will still check in from time to time to learn about my friends, if they are still here. On the other hand, I will be more active where I actually earn.
I appreciate that they are honest with us and are letting us know, without suddenly dropping the payment option with no explanation
I am not here for the earning exactly, but I have used it as a way to keep score on my participation. I know others who depend on earnings here.
My good friends, please send me your e mail.
When it becomes okay to post links here for earning, I will do so.
I doubt that I will contribute very much however. I have been very proud of what MyLot has been, but the time I put here could earn me much more elsewhere. I certainly do not plan to put my best content here, it will not pay. I love knowing friends all over the world, and there are some newer international sites on the horizon, that also have rules about content.
Mylot for me was a wonderful introduction to the world of online earning and sharing. I am proud that I have been here this long, and sad that it is going.

Those who depend on earnings and are an asset here vis-a-vis their wit and intelligence will leave and then this will be a sapless site.

I have not heard of these new changes. Where can I find information about them? I don't come on here often, only about once a month. I used to make good money here, but some of the anti-American attitudes turned me off as well as other things. So, I write for other sites and make good money with them. You can PM me with more information about the changes if you want.

It is sad Gerty, and I am glad we are connected outside of MyLot, and if I leave permanently, I will have to go through my friend list and see who I am not connected with and want to keep in touch; otherwise I am staying, just not as active..I know one person I am going to connect with now, and that is someone who was going to help me make recovery disks for my laptop, I want to make sure that if he leaves, that I can still contact him.

I am glad we are connected as well. I am communicating with quite a few to let them know where else to find me. I need to eat lunch and write a Textbroker article. I am taking hubby for a biopsy this afternoon. Say a little prayer.

We will not have results for a few days. It went easier than I expected. Bubblews is still light writing. You post just about the same things you post here. They are a new site, like about six months. I like that you are earning for everything there. They try to keep the spammers and plagiarizers out. You have editing options and also options to report things.

You and I are connected on Gather (which is another site that seems sadly dedicated to its own demise). Are you on Bubblews as well? Facebook?
Over time, I've tried to connect with some people on multiple sites, because the "captains" of certain sites seem determined to aim straight for the iceberg.

I am on Bubblews and I know it is supposed to be undergoing some revisions that hopefully make it better. I am GardenGerty there as well. I am suggesting my friends go there and as I tell them, I could use them as a referral but I would rather keep them as friends so I am not posting links. It is second best to MyLot for me. I will still pop in here, and at Gather, but I will have more time for Textbroker as well. I am on a site called Sidetick, which has its glitches, but I get paid there maybe four times a year. For a while it was once a month.

I think I'm still a member on Sidetick, but I haven't been there in a long while. It had become too spammy, so I'd drifted away from it.
I'm hoping that the changes to Bubblews will make it a stronger community and easier to find quality content.

I can see a mass exodus on the cards where people will leave Mylot in droves, it will be interesting to see how long it does survive once the earnings have been totally withdrawn. It's a sad day indeed and I know many Mylotters have been let down greatly, plus the sudden change with little no notice. I will also wonder if I will lose a lot of my friends this way. I certainly will NOT be turning to bubblews as an alternative, it's a poor relation and I found it very abysmal to be honest. Still 7 years is 7 years and I am fortunate in that I have been around for most of those 7 years, if not earning a fortune, but making some wonderful friends, contacts and getting the support and warmth from them. Sad day indeed!

I feel the same way too. I have made some wonderful international friends here, more than I have on Facebook.
While I'm glad that we were notified, I wish we would have learned more details about the changes coming, like how long discussions were start or respond to will continue to be paid for. I know people for whom their earnings are a necessity.
I'm not sure if I'll continue here; most likely not as actively as I've been here. The money was definitely an incentive, but if I can earn more elsewhere, I'll be sure to stop at the other sites more frequently.
It's definitely the end of an era, that's for sure.

GG, I have your email address and I hope we can stay in touch. I doubt very much I will continue here...might check in from time to time but that will be once in a blue moon. All these years gone. Our fun 'unique' site is just as common now as the rest of them. It was fun while it lasted.

Well, i'll be darn, that's quite a big change. I have never been here for the money & have made alot of good friends here . I have some money built up, guess i will lose that. Don't know how to go about getting it to be honest it's been so long since i ask for any. I have always let it grow & not take any out. Thanks for your discussion. I wouldn't have been aware this was going on if not for it.

I am very sad to see you go. You were one of my early friends on mylot and a great help to me. It must be a real shock for every mylotter to read your postings. I think that you will be taking a lot of people with you.
I am not on mylot very much these days so I do not understand the problem. Are we no longer getting paid at all? Where is the announcement? Obviously, I have missed something.

You need to check for an alert in your mylot area. I am not sure how to find it if it is down. I saw it as a sidebar on this discussion. I am not totally gone as it is hard to give it up after seven years. You may be able to promote your other sites here after the change.

I never earned that much on mylot so I will still participate even without earnings. It sounds like mylot is becoming more of a social bookmarking site where I will be able to post links to my articles. That I would like.
I am hoping that mylot is being honest with us and that we will get our earnings next month. I hope that they are coming back up and not shutting down. I am excited about seeing what the changes are.

I have been gone a large part of today and am just responding to this discussion. You will be paid May 15. I will still come in now and again. I am being open minded here and as one of my friends has suggested this may be a way to promote our other sites.

OMG...sorry, but I find this a VERY, VERY sad day! I do know that the dear friends, (and I really mean that, GG) that I have made here, will slowly drift away. It, to me, is almost like a community in a rife! You've just explained how we will be losing you...and the first thought that hit me was "Ms.Hatley"...so productive here, so respected, and she really needed the financial input...this is a heartbreaker, and already I feel lonely!

I am afraid that a lot of people will be leaving this site and make an exodus to sites similar to mylot. I just hope I wont end up talking to thin air when the time comes. I will stay since I manage to stay to a community that doesnt pay its members for 10 years. I am not sure if mylot will stay the same if many people will leave.

I feel sad at the thought of many of my friends will leave here.However I am glad that you will still stay here though you are not as active as you used to. Yahoo e-mail will pull out of China,so I was told that my mailbox have to be changed from yahoo to Aliyun.So far I haven't used the new mailbox and am not sure if it works.

There are always changes that tend to pull us away from friends. I have said, I am at Bubblews, and I do not know if it pays, but I know a lot of people who have been paid. It is international as well.
