I am having a tough time on something....

I wrote a message to my kids to water the cat and feed the bird seeds..
Well that just got them in giggles but i was gone so didn't know about it till i got home...Hence they have been ribbing me about it since..
Of course i meant to give water to the cat and to put out bird seed but it was almost like my shorthand way of talking and forgot i have some smart alec children even though they are adults..
So after you stop laughing from what i posted...
Should I?
!..stop talking to them
2. Ignore them
3.Put their baby pics online
4. Laugh with them cause we all need laughter in our life!!

By all means put their baby pictures online (or threaten to)! Then you can laugh with them (make sure they remember some of the silly things they've done, first, though, and warn them that, when they get to your age, they will be laughed at by their kids for just the same sort of thing!
Everyone knows what 'Water the cat' means and surely they didn't think you had some bird plant seedlings out back that needed plant food? It's FAR too late in the year to be sowing bird seed! Those baby birds won't ripen and fledge before the winter!

@Rosekitty Of course, if you can wear your hair in a bun and look at them sternly over the top of your glasses, wagging your finger as you do everything I've suggested, the whole performance will be 132% more effective!

The laugh part I can still do, but the dancing and the singing have long left my capabilities. As far as putting baby pictures on the Interweb, I've been trying, but my much older relatives are doing that to me for some strange reason.

I would start out by laughing with them, but would be sure to remember to laugh at them when they use a unique turn of phrase.

Stop talking to them just for the time you are busy uploading those baby pictures and that says it all.
And incidentally I am trying to decipher the message and still cannot get it. Where did the bird come from. I can understand feeding the cat and watering the seeds. Never mind. I still don't get it but your kids are smart being used to such 'faux pas' from their beloved mother.

Definitely laugh. Laughter is always the best option and like you said we all need laughter in our lives probably more of it than we most have already. Three could also work. Especially if they're older and have Facebook and you can tag them in the pictures. This makes sure that basically everyone they know will see them. You should choose the especially embarrassing ones.

4. Laugh with them cause we all need laughter in our life. A friend once told me to choose my battles wisely and ask myself is it really worth disrupting relationships, is it worth the stress it can bring? Some things are just better left unsaid. Keep it simple Keep it easy and Laugh a lot

If you start verbally talking like that and your children heard you, well.. it's time to put ma in a home. At least that's what my uncle and mother did to their mom and I did to my mom. Nothing personal, but a watered cat might lead to other unusual things like fill the lawn with gas or cook the baby.
