Have you ever thought about deciding on your own Birthday age?

I was talking to a friend here and told her I decided instead of being 64 tomorrow i will be 21.. I could eliminate the bad from my life since i already had been there and what i had learned from my mistakes. I guess i could have picked a more mature age but i was pretty mature at 21 even though i had two children by then. So if you had a choice to decide your age this year, Which one would you pick and why?

I was 21 until I hit mid thirties. Now I'm 29. I will be for about 9 more years. If I had to pick an age..... um..... either this one... so I didn't have it all to do over again or 16 when I was just starting out. I think I would miss a few things if I changed what I've done though. * listens to the kids "reading" in the back room * Hmmm... rereading your question.... not sure I answered correctly.... here's my second answer... if everything is as it is but I can change MY age I would be.....the right age to play with each of my children on their level.

@Rosekitty Yeah, I'm kind of attached to them... somedays I start to wonder and then they do something to remind me why. The little monsters.

Honestly, I am happy with what age I am. Getting into a time machine and transferring me back to an early age will only imply that I have to relive all that I have gone through. I do not think I will have the courage or the stamina to face it all over again. For the sake of the discussion, if I had to choose,I would choose to go back to 1994 when I was 20. I had just completed my graduation and landed up with my first job. By the end of Dec 1994 - I had dreams, I had vision, a kind of commitment and definitely a road to tread on... Definitely, this should be the right time to go back to. Prior to this life was more fun, no shocks, no sadness - friends, movies, eateries, do anything anytime and no one cares attitude, no doubt, but still I would stick with moving in to 1994. Maybe sometime in July (after the Grad Exams were done with).

Glad to know that you enjoyed the year 1994. Yes, we would like to go and live again on that happy part in life.

It is easier for a woman, because women are aging only until 20. After, they are 20 years and a few weeks old. I am 18 in my mind, but I prefer my grey beard to the red one I had before, so I keep my 56 years.

Hmmm I could say to go back to 18, before I married my ex, but then I wouldn't have my 3 boys with him, so no go there. I think I am content with my age. It's been a long curvy road, but I am here, so have no desire to go back and do it all over again.

@TexanTornado..one reason i picked 21..just after my 2nd and before my 3rd, 4th and 5th..one thing i know i'd never marry this time..lost too much on community rights to the ex..

@Rosekitty Ah ok, gotcha. Well, I stopped at 3, and got blessed with 4 more, from my present hubby. I said the same thing when I divorced my ex, but I found the love of my love and we married, and happily.

I will be 30 because well, I guess that's the age you could say that I "saw the light". Don't want to go back to young and dumb no way no how. 19 was the happiest year of my life so it would make sense to choose that, but I really want to strangle my 19 year old self if I ever see her. Somewhere in my 20s would make some sense too because of the birth of my daughters, but I was also still married to my ex and I also want to kill my 20 something year old self.

I would leave my age at 50. It was fine then and I was at my hilt. But without the person I was with then.

I would like to be age 26 again because that is when my first child was born and I would like to see if I had done things differently with him, if he would have made the same unwise choices that he is making today.

I don't think I'd go back and change anything. I've had 27 years of a wonderful marriage and we've raised to exceptional sons who've made us very proud. I think I would leave things just as they are.

I would pick up 20, just before my marriage. It's not that I am not happy to have married my husband, but I would wait some more years and enjoy my life as single at least until I was 28.

@Rosekitty Nope - I don't waste time on things I can't change! That's why I don't get all hyped about things other people fuss and argue over. But to go back in time...I'm fine where I am.

OMG! That's like asking me to pick a lottery number! I could add the two numbers of my age together and be a pre-teen (sometimes my sense of humour is at about that level) or I could multiply them and be what was probably my 'golden age' (maybe that means I've reached platinum now). Yes, I think that mid-thirties is about right, now I think about it.

I read all the answers here, most of them want to live again in their 20s. But for me I had nothing fun in that age. If I get a chance to go back I would like to go to the age of 25.

When I hit 40, I just knew, I was not looking forward to it. My mil says after 40 it's all downhill healthwise. My daughter said 40 was old. I didn't feel old so I didn't want to be 40. I had my health issues long before 40, I just didn't know what they were. Stuff that mattered before seems insignificant. I think I will stay 43. I am smarter and wiser. And it's number. My husband is 45 and feels old. I am a couple years younger and I don't feel old. Even when my shoulders hurt or my hips ache, I still don't feel old. So, I'm good.
