Labor Day 2015

Labor Day

Labor Day here in the US is always celebrated on the first Monday in September. After violence related to the Pullman Railroad strike The government and President I think it was Grover Cleveland wanted a Federal Holiday to honor Labor. Today there are fewer parades and more activities and also shows us the end of the summer is upon us. A lot of people go to the lake and even more go on picnics, some just stay at home and enjoy their day off. What have you done this Holiday weekend.

I did not go anywhere, but I was thinking a minute ago for all those who went on a picnic today here, a short little storm just blew in and right back out. It must have blown paper plates all over the place ahah Happy Labor Day my friend.

Thanks Ocean and a Happy Labor Day to you also. A short storm I bet there were lots of paper plates blowing all over the place. Yesterday it rained and then would stop and then it would start again but did not dampen our day and it was not a heavy rain.

Did nothing special, stayed home and relaxed. I have been on and off the computer today. The lot is very slow, guess everyone is out having a BBQ.

We did what we enjoy doing. Absolutely nothing. Both me and hubby hate crowds and hate being on the roads during the holidays so we stayed home, watched movies, and just enjoyed the weekend.

Sounds like a lot of fun especially not have to contend with crowds and traffic jams. It is fun just staying home and relaxing watching movies and just enjoying your Holiday weekend.

I wanted to stay home and cookout and go swimming, but we never did get the ladder fixed on the dock, so we went to my brother in laws for a cookout. It was fun, but I spent most of the time studying.

@Marcyaz I've been to a BBQ with few of my friends , that's what is usually done in my country. I myself enjoyed it even better because I'm still a student with no day to day job so it was literally a short holiday for me.. hehe.

For the rest of the month it seems all I will be doing is moving. We ordered a new refrigerator and freezer too. We saw the beginning staging of the parade in Florence.

I did no labor. LOL Just kept my grandson busy early morning so his mom could sleep in. No workers here so it wasn't a real holiday for us. Hope all you workers enjoyed having it off.

Well I know Labor Day is over now. I had a BBQ with friends and family and we all enjoyed ourselves. I never go away on these holidays. I always stay home. Ever since I was a child we always had every holiday home with lots of family and friends.

That is great to have friends and family come by on Labor Day. We used to do that but now since moving to this State we don't know that many people and have very little family.

I remember when Labor Day meant the end of school vacation--now the kids go back in August which I think is a shame! Very few picnics here--it is rainy season--a lot of bbqing at home!

Yep Martin things sure have changed in the school terms oh heck in the school itself. I haven't seen anyone on a picnic here either and bbqing does smell so good. It also rained here some, dang it.

My labor day weekend, has been spent at home. I didn't need to go out so I didn't. I live alone, so I don't go out all the much, unless i have the mony to do so.I have spent a lot of time in here too. I would rather be in here than go anywhere or do anything else.

We didn't really do anything as neither my brother or I were feeling very good. We did have a ham dinner which was excellent.
