Breakfast Burrito

I am resorting to frozen foods a lot right now. They are fast and simple and cost less than eating out. El Monterrey has come out with large packages of individually wrapped breakfast burritos. A dozen in a package for $10.98. I bought a package yesterday and that is what I had for breakfast today. It was sausage, egg, potato and cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla. I served it with sour cream and salsa on the side. It was fast and tasty. Princess kitty enjoyed the left over sour cream. I am serving on disposable plates a lot, for simplicity. That is another advantage. My final consideration is that it is a breakfast with eggs in it. I eat those for protein when I can afford them. I just am not finding them for less than $3.50 per dozen. It is hard for my frugal self to let go and buy them. So, I have had breakfast and two cups of coffee. It is time to lift and load stuff. I plan to have everything I can loaded for hubby and I to deliver tonight. He was able to get the engine to crank on the "new" car that has sat idle for thirteen years.

We do not have a big breakfast, usually an English muffin with cheese or a blueberry muffin. I make the muffins myself.

I try to eat a large breakfast and then less in the evenings. I need to make some banana bread and other things while packing today. I try for less bread, though.

@LadyDuck I eat Special K with protein mixed with a yogurt and my husband doesn't eat breakfast unless he's on I think it's 3r shift but it isn't usually breakfast foods, except for once in awhile when we can afford bacon. I'll fry up bacon and eggs with toast O he loves that or corned beef hash with eggs he loves that too.

This one has eggs in it and so it is a good meal. Right now eggs are outrageously expensive here.

@GardenGerty Oh really, that is annoying. It is not that expensive here thankfully as I love my eggs.

Yes, the burrito sounds wonderful. My hubby would probably like it but my diet wouldn't allow for it probably over 30 grams of carbs, right?

When I was still working I worked for a part of HP at EDS in a large call center. I could get a huge breakfast burrito(with all you mention in it) for $3 and have it for breakfast (hungry!) and lunch(not so much). So for two meals I didn't think that was too bad.

I like to eat egg burritos anytime of the day , breakfast, lunch or dinner. I usually make them by buying the flour tortillas,, scrambling the eggs and then rolling the eggs up in it.

What are you loading or did I miss something, which is possible. LOL Where do you live that a dozen eggs are $3.50 per dozen??? Lord help us here food is so expensive these days. I know I need to work on fasting and prayers, but I may need to increase the time of my fasts. The deal you got on the breakfast burritos how big are they? I can't believe ice cream sandwhich's we buy them when they are on sale. Well we couldn't believe how small they were. Shouldn't have complained as a month ago when we bought them on sale their size shrunk even more!!! We buy a lot of frozen foods too as it is cheaper that way. I am in the process of losing weight and my doctor wants me to eat healthy like fresh or frozen vegetables and fruits. Well I can get a good deal on frozen fruits but the fresh veggies n fruits are just too expensive. Please help us Lord!

I live right in the middle of Kansas. I am moving out of my huge money pit where I have lived and hoarded for over thirty years. I am moving about forty miles east of here. Got a great deal on a one level duplex which I will convert to single family. Hubby is working full time, is older than I am and is on a post surgical lifting restriction.

I have not tried that kind, but I just love those frozen burritos. We eat them for lunch sometimes here.

@Butchcass4 I successfully lost weight with Weigh Down Workshop, but many things interrupt my life and journey. I think God has given us all good things, but we must not be overindulgent.

@mom210 I love the beef and bean burritos but they are high in calories so I don't eat them except maybe once a month. I allow myself something different here and there. Truth is I allow myself too many other things that I shouldn't eat. God is helping me lose weight. Over the past year I have gradually lost 51 pounds and I give God the glory as it is Him who is helping me. He has given me things I do to aid His help. Like 30 minutes power walking to a DVD I just love by Leslie Sonome, she is awesome and I love the layout of the power walks.
