Yard sale or garage sales..

I've been waiting to have a yard sale or garage sale for months now because it is just way to hot to have one. I have many vintage items, incense, herbs, books, boxes of costume jewelry and just an idea of what i have. I even thought maybe i can do these online sales that are for each town..you know Yard sale or barter groups. Seems the ones who are interested live farther away and will either have to mail or wait till i find another buyer interested. Have any of you ever done well selling online?..not through ebay or etsy, just only how i mentioned. I don't want to sell where i have to pay fees..to me it defeats the purpose of selling cheap for the buyer and me.

With the Offers around the corner at Mylot, things can become easy for this. Btw, don't sell off that cupboard. Remember the discussion where dear @TexanTornado has offered to adopt you and I in the cupboard go in the package deal

@thebusysids What if I bought the cupboard from her? Then that way you won't have to worry about being left behind or simply pushed off on someone else.

No, I have never done that. I am not big in having to wait on someone else. I like doing things in my own time and way. However, you mentioned books? What genre? Authors? You could send me those.

I joined many Facebook Yard Sale Groups - some are in my county and others in surrounding counties. We had a big yard sale a year go and the items that didn't sell I put on those groups and little by little we have sold all but one item. I even sold a Orek vac. cleaner sight unseen and that's a high end item. Just join a few, read the rules and take good photos!

I haven't sold anything on the FB "neighborhood" yard sale pages. I do sell things via ebay, Amazon and Half, though. I'm doing books currently, but also have some games and a silverplate serving bowl I need to list.

I agree with you . If you have to sell second hand items i would just do it in actual not online , because i believe there will be still other fees when you sell online.

I have not had any luck selling online. Try to go to Facebook and set up a trash and treasure page for your area. That works here. Good luck.

I have not done this. I will say that I have noticed that many people choose not to have people come to their home, but arrange a public meeting place.

I posted 10 books on Amazon and haven't sold any of them. I have been holding off on the garage sale because a) it means getting up so dang early; b) it's a lot of work; and c) the weather has been unpredictable. I have to de-clutter this house though.I wish some magic fairy would come in, clear out the clutter and leave some money behind.

A yard sale is a fun thing, and you can sell things cheaper and even lower prices just to get rid of them. Maybe you can do a neighborhood yard sale, having it larger attracts more people and you can get things sold more quickly. The Autumn is the most active yard sale season here.

No I've never done a yard sale, when I was living abroad and had to move back I donated most of my belongings to charity. Currently, I don't have much to give on a sale because I am still trying to decorate my apartment and buy furniture. I would be interested to go on a yard sale though, it's a shame that they are not popular in my area.

My wife tried some online selling of "collector" plates she'd bought but only sold one. The rest we wound up donating to the church yard sale.

We have a local yard sale group where people list stuff on the Facebook page and it seems quite successful. Sounds like a great way to sell stuff and I've seen that people meet in a secure location to exchange their stuff

@Marilynda1225 i don't care if people come to my house but for some reason they want my vintage items real cheap..if i go to a vintage site no one sells anything..so weird..
