Yep. Jane Seymour will appear at the Grand Motel on Mackinac Island off the coast of Michigan on October 15th and 16th. It has always been one of my dreams to visit the place ever since I saw Somewhere In Time. You see some fans started an annual meeting there. Quite often Jane and Christopher Reeves would make an appearance at this special event. It is a big deal at the hotel. A fancy dinner and a dance after ward when everyone dresses in vintage clothing of the era the movie was in. I am such a fan of the movie it is on my annual must again see list. Now if I just had about $8,000.00 extra this next month.

It would cost a lot to go both ways. I would need a make over. I would need vintage clothes for the dinner and something to wear while I am there. I would need to pay for about three or four days of staying there. It's a fancy hotel and expensive. Then I would also have to pay for my ticket to the dinner. And, I would want to have a little extra just incase.

It seems a little expensive?
Around $1000 night everything included
200 room + avg 25 x 3 meals (around 100) + golf fee 50 = 350 per night
That means 1000 - 350 = 650 extra for special halloween package
even with extra's say costing $150 that leaves $500 unaccounted for?

@Bluedoll .....Well, to me if I am going to go I want to go first class. Nice room, nice clothes, nice package, good food, great make over, 1st class flying arrangements. No golf that is for sure. And I may want to do some shopping, buy a few souvenirs, tip a cute bell boy, and I like to juggle room incase of an emergency or I decide to stay another day.

No, that wouldn't work. This is one of the top things on my bucket list. If I did it I would want to go the full monty and do it up right. I would have to stay at the Graand Hotel. Life is expensive, that's why I am not in it much.

@celticeagle If you really want this you can make a plan. I would save some money per month and make a long term plan for an event like this one. I don't know if this event will still be organized when you manage to save enough money but I am sure you can at least erase one thing out of your bucket list.

I don't think i have ever seen this movie..now i'm going to have to find it and watch.

If you are into vintage you will enjoy this one. It is all done in the 19th century clothes and all. Very nicely done and a lovely romantic story. It's on my must resee again and again list for sure. You might find it on Netflix.

I wanted to go when he was still alive. The two of them came to it a few times if I remember correctly. I love it all--the move, the era, the actors and the place.
