Memories

At my childhood elementary school there sat a wooden house on a playground. It was made to look like a cabin but small enough for kids to play in and on. I loved to climb on that wooden house and daydream. I was all of six or seven years old. I vaguely remember the thing now but loved it nonetheless. The little play area was magical as it was surrounded by trees and shaded so euphorically. I often let my mind wander, just sitting there for however long we had to play. Kids were screaming and having a grand ol' time around me but I was there in my own little world. The teachers didn't bother me too much, atleast that I can remember. I guess they realized I was content and happy in my own right. I vaguely remember them trying to encourage me, atleast I think I do. It's so many years ago now, and yet I can still remember a semblance of those little day dreams. Day dreams of a happy and bright future. It's a recurring daydream I've had for many years. Day dreaming has been my way to cope with so many of the ups and downs that go with life. Stress has no hold on me as long as I have a song and story in my heart. Just like now, I'm sitting here content as can be as I remember that little girl who sat on the wooden cabin as if it was the top of the world and a grand castle in the sky. What gets you through life's stresses?

I eat and write. Have some fantasy daydreams from time to time too.

Fantasies like that one episode of Roseanne where she's in a luxurious bathroom with herbal essences shampoo models doting on her? (not sure why that popped in my head, I haven't watched the show in years).

@ScribbledAdNauseum ......Because it stuck in your brain. That is as good a fantasy as any I can think of.

Yeah..eating is good, but my dressing table is right behind. It shows me how fat I am getting.

Sleeping as an escape is bittersweet.

I was more of a tomboy growing up. I guess you could say I still am as I am not very girly.

I day dream as well. Every time there is something bad or unhappy I even try to steer me towards pleasant day dreaming prospects. I guess that is what has helped me too. Some day we will be recognized as pioneers of day dreaming therapies. Till then

That will be the day huh? Day dreams are definitely therapeutic. Gardening day dreams, though not my thing, I can see as being very soothing.

One can actually spend time in a good way going back in time and reliving those times. I do that often.
