Sometimes Crap Happens

Yesterday while here on myLot there was a power outage in my town. Everything went dark, no computer, no TV, no light so I could at least paint. I picked up my iPad and played games off line until the electricity came back.
I don't live in the boonies but my town is small enough we won't know what happened until Wednesday when the local weekly paper will come out. We did hear sirens, a lot of them during our timeout with electricity.
I was heart broken when the electricity came back and I couldn't get on this web site. I was told buy the computer my email was already used, my name was ok and my password was ok but I tried dozens of time and got no where.
I went back to another site that does not have a private message option and let two friends know I was in trouble here on myLot. My friend @rebelann responded to my call for help and said she would tell someone here that might be able to help.
In the mean time I found a web address for this site and took a chance someone would read my call for help.
Just now I took a break from painting to look up something on line and while here I checked my email.
I am a happy camper, there was a message and I am back on.
Why couldn't I get on the site??? Because when I signed up I dropped a letter out of one of my names that needed to be there to get me back and I didn't know it.
It was pointed out and I really appreciate my old friends who did what they could to help me and I appreciate the nameless person who sent me an email from here to let me know what to do.
I'm Back, I'm under a time crunch so will go back to my studio and paint until my eyes hurt. Later today I will be back to visit my new friends, look at your posts and leave comments and return comments.
I did mention i am a happy camper - a very happy woman right now.

@PainsOnSlate You are welcome. GoAskAlice did reply to me and said that you'd left the t out. What a bummer - now you have to live with 'Pains'!

Thanks, the big show is this coming weekend so I'm just finishing and doing touch ups. After that show i will just have to keep the stores stocked until the snow flies, that's when my sales drop drastically and I take a vacation from J
anuary to May

Something happened similar when I joined that other site and I never got it fixed. I had to delete my account, sign up with a different name and email address and start all over. If that was fixed like it was here you would know me as paintsonslate instead of campinsanity

@PainsOnSlate They didn't seem to fix much over there and what they did seemed to take forever to get fixed.

So funny when something so frustrating turns out to be such a simple little mistake!

My goodness, I hope they will compensate all residents for the inconvenience.
I think such blackout will be terrible if it happens in places such as New York.
If my memory serves, New York did experience huge blackout for a couple of days.
That is really terrible.

I live in a small town and the power was off just for a couple of hours. It was an inconvenience
but noting earth shaking EXCEPT I was on myLot when it happened and I was kicked off the site and couldn't get back on without help from Support.

So glad your back, I just looked at the message I got from @goaskalex_admin who mentioned the problem, would you believe I never even noticed it? All I saw were the bold black letters not the tiny blue ones, go figure.

power cuts always hit at the least convenient times. Glad you were able to paint through it all

Have you ever shared any of your paintings before, Marilyn? If you have on the other place, then I totally missed out on seeing what it is you do or how you paint on slate.

@PainsOnSlate Good point, I hadn't thought about those that are only interested in stealing with no thought for the author\artist.

I occasionally use one of my paintings for the photo while on that other site. I have a few of them on Pinterest but I don't usually put them on line because no one would buy one, they just copy them. Even at craft shows its amazing how many people walk around with their cell phone to copy instead of buying. I do signs and sell them in local wineries and gift shops. I also do two big shows every year. I use roofing slate. I can buy it new or I can buy it used. Mostly I do signs with funny sayings but I also do welcome signs, patio signs etc.

Me too, I was sweting bullets. I really didn't want to have to sign up with another name... So happy all is well.
