Music In My Mind (Classics)

I woke up with music in my mind. Not just any music, but, music from classic movies that I grew up watching. The first song was "Tomorrow" from the movie "Annie" and the next song was"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from the movie "Mary Poppins" . I have been humming them or softly singing them since I woke up, not certain why, because I have not heard those songs in forever. Do you remember these songs and movies? Have you woken up with music in your mind, that you hadn't heard in a long time?

Yes, I do remember those movies and the music. This morning I had this song on my mind "It's a long way to Tipperary".

I was singing that song yesterday, @marlina. Very few people sing such songs these days.

I always wake up with music in my mind and it's different every day. Today it was Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, but yesterday it was "In the year 2525".

@bluesa I haven't listened to either of those songs in years. I think my brain misfires.

Oh yes, that also happens to me, and if it is a nice song it is fine, if it is some jingle that gets stuck in my head though, then I think, oh goodness please let something else replace it soon. :-)

Hee hee, Janet, I might have made a boo-boo, but, there is a timeless quality to these movies and songs, I mean I was young when I first saw them and still they catch my attention. :-)

Many classic songs that came to my mind like Outsider by Cliff Richard, Only You by Platters and Oh Carol by Neil Sedaka remind me of my younger days. Many songs by Cliff Richard is featured in movies during that era. Memories will never fade when the songs are played...

I like 'Summer Holiday' by Cliff Richard. Yes, music and memories are tied together for many. I can hear a certain song and remember sunny days from years gone by.

@bluesa Usually the people around us that complains because we keep on humming or keep on singing some lines repeatedly. Haha! I just laugh at them when they are complaining.

I think I must try to watch Mary Poppins again, but, then I will probably be humming along to all the songs in it. Did the songs keep playing through your mind for a few days after watching it? I would drive my family insane singing it through a day.:-)

Funny. I worked at the preschool yesterday, and we were all (well, me and about four kids) singing Tomorrow from Annie. We had the CD in, but I could tell some of them had it memorized.

That is funny. Maybe you all singing Tomorrow from Annie, travelled through space and into my mind! Oh, but wait, I had Mary Poppins singing through my mind too, so, uh, never mind. It is great that they seem to have memorized such a timeless song. :-)

Yeah, it is also great memories for me, of my Mom and I watching them, and singing along. Now we watch reality shows together and there are no great songs to sing along to. Though we did sing along to Mama Mia recently. :-)

I don't wake up with music on my mind - just coffee - lol. I did sing "Tomorrow" last week, or rather hummed it. It was on my mind as I thought of Broadway show my granddaughter had seen.

True that there will be a song now and then that was the furthest thing from ones mind that will somehow end up running through it.
