having someone hack into your computer and closes your bank account, cancel your lease so you are homeless, writes horrible emails to clients and gets you fired, and who knows what all else?
That is part of the storyline tonight on CSI: Cyber. This brings stocker to a whole new level.

Oh you should watch Mr. Robot too and feel as paranoid about your life as the victims in the show get.

God forbids if it ever happens to me. I wish that someone should not go after me so as to get me sacked from my job and make me jobless.

It's a fictional story. They had to do it for the story.

Very frightening indeed. One should always disable 'remember password'

Why people would store their passwords online is beyond me.

@allknowing ....Yes, I think convenience and safety are two very different things.

You can never be too careful online. Hackers are getting smarter and smarter every day. My brother in law has a background in computer forensics and he told us so many stories. Scary!

I missed CSI last night but it sounds interesting. I imagine it could happen with these hackers and what they have been doing but I don't think they would just home in on one person.
That is one reason to change your password occasionally.

I recently had my Amazon acct hacked,
they were able to change the name and the email address on my acct. After more than a week I'm still unable to log back in. I'm going to have to get on the phone again to try and see what they can do to get me back on. I have had my email accts hacked a number of times. No I don't have a common password on my accts either nor is it the same password, yet it still seems to happen. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to have multiple accts, let alone everything you touched taken over by a hacker or a stalker.

@celticeagle, my account was restored yesterday afternoon, however all my information was wiped clean. So I just had to put all my information back in. Got an email right before that about my amazon digital has been cancelled do to credit card problems, because they wiped my acct clean and removed all my credit card information. Now I have to go and fix that. My daughter calls this morning telling me that she was trying to redeem the digital gift card I sent her last month for her birthday and she keeps getting an error that the code is incorrect. Amazon cancelled it, since I didn't include that in one of my last purchases. Well I can't see my purchases I'm locked out of my acct.
I'm so annoyed right now about the whole thing. This has by far been one of the worst things to deal with, almost as bad as a stolen purse.
My yahoo has been hacked a number of times along with my Facebook. I don't get it I don't use an easy password, I use upper and lowercase plus numbers and still I have a problem.

I had my AOL account hacked so many times it was a joke. I left there and went to Yahoo. It's never been hacked but my MSN one was recently. Ugh! I can't imagine having everything like in the showed hacked like hers was. Awful. Can't imagine having Amazon hacked either. Don't think I have ever heard of an account hacked there. Interesting. Hope you are able to get it all straightened out.

Very scary indeed. I watched the movie identity theft last night and it's pretty much the same exact scenery. If you haven't watched it you should it has Melissa McCarthy in it.

Too many people still cannot understand that everything shred online can be "hacked". It is hard not to use a computer in our days, but we must be very careful. I am glad that in our country personal documents can be required in person, nobody can change anything online.
