Halloween is fast approaching. Are you ready? Do you go all out for Halloween? My grandmother used to dress up as a witch, even going so far as to have a wart on her nose, and greeted the tricker treaters this way. My daughter loves Halloween and decorates every year. She carves jack-o-lanterns and does them so early they spoil and she has to do more. And, she always bakes the pumpkin seeds and we enjoy eating them. My grandson and her go out treating and come home with a pillow case half full of candy. It is a family tradition to enjoy this night to the fullest. And, I enjoy the supernatural aspect as well. The energy. How do you folks celebrate it? Do you have certain traditions or....?

I don't think we are every too big or too old. Plus it is when the barrier/vail between this life and that of the supernatural is thinnest. I enjoy it a lot for that reason.

@BACONSTRIPSXXX ...It is the time of year and the supernatural energy that I enjoy the most during this time.

Since my children are grown we do not do anything and where we are at we have no Halloweeners coming to the door. We used to dress up and go out a lot when the children were small and it was not dangerous to go door to door now most people have Halloween parties instead.

I don't go all out for halloween. I dress up and go to my boyfriends parents party and that's about it.

Now i just usually stay home and let my children take their kids out to parties or fests..some still do trick treating..but there are many parties also so kids always can lots of candies..
One never knows who house you go to..not in olden days where everyone knew everybody

Those days seem to be gone. I like the time of year and enjoy celebrating it. Plus the vail between this world and the supernatural is thinner and I enjoy that energy.

Growing up in the U.K. it was not celebrated then at all.. Being Catholic it is called 'All Soul's Eve' and we attend a Mass. During the day the graves are blessed by the Priest.
In Jamaica it has gained popularity in the last 15 years or so and in some areas kids do go trick or treating. I do buy candy as I know that the kids where I live will come out but they come early- and then I go to Mass.

Glad to hear there is some semblance of ceremony.

@celticeagle The little kids love it and they come escorted by their Moms. They dress up too!

Heard and seen Halloween on tv but not celebrated here as such. Although we have "Bhut Chaturdoshi" that is the 14th day of the lunar calendar month when ghosts are said to be in close proximity. That is kind of a similar thing to Halloween here.

Halloween is rather new to the islands. I lived in Mexico for years so I do love to decorate for Halloween.
