We did not get cheesecake

The leader of the food experience had an awful and tragic experience this morning. She was getting the pumpkin cheesecake out of the refrigerator to warm up to room temperature and it fell upside down on the floor. We did have a tea made with hibiscus, orange and rosepetals. We had lemon grass syrup to sweeten it. We learned how to prepare chicken stock from scratch and why various veggies, etc. are healthy. Foods we sampled included a potato soup with dill, a lentil soup, and a mushroom bisque (with or without sherry). To make amends for tossing the cheesecake we were given shortbread cookies, made fresh from dough she had frozen. I enjoyed the mushroom bisque the most. We were shown how to select the best mushrooms and how to prepare the roux for the thickening. The recipe calls for sherry, but she prepared it without because some people cannot have alcohol, then she passed the bottle of sherry for us to add as we chose. Served with the soups were lovely rounds of crusty bread.

I guess all's well that ends well but weren't you tempted to just go for it and scoop the cheesecake off the floor?

She had cleaned it up before we arrived. We all told her we would have eaten the part that was on top.

Well the cheesecake would have been nice. I'm not a huge fan of soups. I like them occasionally, but I prefer food you can sink your teeth into.

that sounds amazing, and much better than my dinner of leftover roast, corn and taters
