We have dipped into the purple....

air category today here in the town where I live. We have a fire near town and a couple of storms that are keeping the smoke in the valley. We were in red for several days and it has been red but went to the purple. We are hoping for rain this weekend to wash all of this out of the valley. Schools and such are moving schedules for games and exercise indoors. Firefighters had to do a back burn and that pushed a lot of smoke up and in our direction. Over 5400 acres has been consumed so far. Fire has been going on about a week now. I have a headache from it and I am indoors. I can only imagine how these poor bicycle riders that do deliveries for a local sandwich shop are doing that they are showing on the news. They are wearing face masks.

Hopefully your community will get the rain it needs. I know that there are a lot of places that certainly need rain.I do not know how anyone stands it the way the smoke is.

I am hoping it will rain soon. There is nothing else you can do to clean the air. Everyone stays inside when there are large fires in my country, especially people with breathing problems.

When we lived in Las Vegas, we would have so much smoke that came from California. It really can be a health hazard for those with breathing problems. I hope you do get some rain soon and it helps to put out the fires.

Is this because of no rain in the US and all of the dry conditions? Here I don't have to experience this at all. We have plenty of rain and are thankful we have no fires. A few times we did have some fires up in the mountains and we watched them burn. We really don't have much in the line of fire fighters or handing these type of fires. I know on one visit to the US I landed in LA and it was grey and ugly and I had a bad headache from this. I am thankful to live here where the air and water are so clean.
