Keep your earnings here to yourself.

I have read a number of posts where people share the news of their payments and praise myLot for paying well and paying on time.
I am a little apprehensive about this having been on the ill-fated B site for two years when this kind of praise (and a great deal more boasting) was prevalent. As a result the spammers arrived in force and we all know where that led to. A little discretion might not be a bad thing.
So I suggest that we keep our secrets to ourselves and encourage people to come because we are all such nice people, but let them be pleasantly surprised about the earnings when they get them.

Oh believe me there are Internet cafes around the world where the spammers hang out. Our earnings posts won't affect anything. However, we can help the owners and moderator by reporting spam with a vengeance. We can also ignore spammers so they don't make a cent. It is a concern, but I bet we can handle it.

I agree, the last thing we need is a bunch of spammers here on MyLot ruining our fun

I love this idea. I don't think people should boast about how much they have made on this site. I feel like it should be personal and each person should keep this to themselves. This is my first site such as this and I was a little surprised to see this one. I have never done a site like this before. I don't feel like posting how much I make on here or sharing what I am making with others. I feel like it can cause hard feeling and people will stop responding to my comments and discussion. Why because at times when I do see this I will pass by this person discussion because I feel like they only want to drag me in so so they boast how much more money they have made. I don't like to be like this. I want to look at people all the same and speak to all of them and comment on all post. I would rather keep my earning to myself and not tell people if I have made any or not.

I believe so too, let's just keep it to ourselves and write about more interesting topics. On the other hand, this topic is reaction generating..

I don't think that mentioning what we earn is hurting a thing. Quite the contrary. It is letting the admins at mylot know that we appreicate them and appreciate the fact that they pay us in a timely manner.I was paid a lot before the change, and once since the change, and sioon to be my second payment. I will shout it from the rooftops as I am happy they are paying again, and to let them know by posting our earnings, that we are happy tjhat we are getting paid again.

In the good old myLot we were not allowed to discuss about our earnings. It is allowed now probably with a reason.

Oh it would be really nice if they had rules both here and on bubs that banned discussing online earnings, I personally never start posts or discussions about money for the same reason you've mentioned, it leads to the influx of people only interested in the almighty buck.

discussing how much we earn should be discouraged - I don't post my bank statements to the World. Suffice to say we do get paid which is assuring to newcomers worried the site might be a scam. That writers are being paid proves the site's legitimacy.

You are absolutely right. Talking about money and how much you can make attract all sort of spammers and cheaters. I think that in the rules it should be added that we cannot talk about earnings. What do you think @GoAskAlice? I believe this is a line to add to the guidelines.
