Can you smell sweet potatoes baking?

I baked two turkey tenderloins and threw two sweet potatoes in the oven at the same time. The turkey is cooked, potatoes have a way to go.
But to speed things I I put the oven on turbo blast and within 10 minutes baking in that mode they are just about finished.
We are having a 'Pretend It's Thanksgiving Dinner' - turkey, sweet potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, succotash and rolls. Just typing those words is making me hungrier than I was 20 minutes ago.
It is a grey dismal and a turkey dinner seemed the right way to go.
What's on your dinner table?

They were screaming, "Let me out I'm done!" and the smell was heaven!
I wish there was love button for your response!

@AbbyGreenhill I cannot blame them for that because I would be screaming to get out as well.

Yes, yes I can. Actually, the sweet potatoes are baking as I write. I've cooked fresh stringbeans, country ham, and baked corn bread to go with them and sweet tea, of course. Yummmmm

I have been cooking a pork loin since about 10AM this morning. Im hoping for it to be done in two hours at 6:30 so we can eat and have a good dinner.I will making some green beans and some au gratin potatoes too. Love me some good home made sunday meals too. Hoping my parents can make it over for some good cooking tonight too for dinner. I also have some biscuits to make and also have some muffins to make so i have those at work this week to munch on. I also help my cousin out with her two twin girls and this week for school they are having parties so i am making some chocolate chip cookie bits for them to bring. I already had all the ingredients for that, thank god as i did not want to have to run to the store for anything extra at all. My house is going to smell really good in about an hour when i start making the rest of the dinner food too.

I think one of the best things about cooking is all the smells. Pork cooking always smells wonderful. Hope your dinner was good.

i wonder if those would work well with the microwave to be finished in the oven like potatoes (in one of those sacks that keeps them from getting hard spots)

I don't do 'cooking' in the microwave, usually just reheating, except for regular baked potatoes and I am not really thrilled with the texture of it that way.

@AbbyGreenhill you can't just stick them in, they need to be in a special bag, or a container that keeps them from overcooking on the outside and raw on the inside

We had pork chops, stuffing and gravy. I must have been in a Thanksgiving mood, too, to bring out the stuffing! But, that's all I had. I love sweet potatoes, especially mashed with crushed pineapple, brown sugar and raisins. But, baked ones are also wonderful with butter and salt.

@AbbyGreenhill About the sweet potatoes, as the temperature raised the last few summer the authorities decided to plant sweet potatoes instead of potatoes... well nobody liked and they had to import potatoes from Holland and Belgium. I am glad I had planted potatoes in my garden.

@LadyDuck In the south yams/sweet potatoes are probably more popular than regular potatoes.

I'm having ham and sweet potatoes. I start my sweet potatoes in the microwave first and then pop in the oven and it saves most of the baking time. I love Thanksgiving and all the trimmings

I like just butter on mine, but if I had brown sugar I would have used some of that too. I was going to get ham steak but the ones they had were huge.
