The Internet Made Me Lazy

I must confess that before I knew anything about the highway of information "Internet" my house was a lot better taken care of. But not so much anymore as I have a hard time peeling me away from my comfortable office chair and do what I am supposed to do. I have to use a timer, otherwise I would probably spend way too much time here and there surfing the Internet.

I have sized down our lifestyle too. No more this and nor more that Something that I could never do without today it seems less important. Internet gets the first place

I am on my computer a lot because it's my job. But when I am done with all that needs to be done I still love to go in my garden and clean it. Some times I take 2 to 3 days off just to spend in my garden and around my home. But I can see where some people get hooked on the Internet and it can do this to them.

@marlina When you are older this one can happen. I can watch my mom sit on the computer for 5 hours playing solitary and I did not understand this one at all.

It sure is easy to get carried away when using the Internet. I find that setting a time limit helps, provided that we continuously stick to that.

Not easy to stick to the timer, but can be done.

It is easy to go and look up something 'legitimate', like a recipe, and then one thing leads to another and time passes...

I am glad that I am retired and can be on it all day if I wish. My daughter does the housework and I feel at my leisure.

Perhaps surfing the net doesn't mean you're lazy, but it does tend to become addicting so lately I've been trying to form a habit of doing other things before I turn on the PC, sometimes it works and sometimes it backfires, the dang PC sits here beckoning me to turn it on. I'll try again tomorrow

I don't have a timer when I work online. Wow that is a good idea to set timer.

I've had to make lists of things I need to do in a day, then reward myself here as they are crossed off.
