Today was for me one of those days when you are totally unprepared for what is about to pan out.
I got a call early this morning and had to go to the neighboring state to get some urgent work done.
I was a bit worried and had to keep telling myself 'worrying won't help you'
I meditated for a while on our one and half hour drive .. then I was clam. ready to meet what ever was in store for me.
However, things worked out much better than I really expected and I got more out of the whole experience.
I generally don't worry too much.. but this experience again taught me life isn't about worrying.. its about living it and facing each day as it comes.
Do you worry a lot?

I am past the age of worrying. And too old to remember if I did.
After I was diagnosed with lymphoma, I decided to live my life day by day, as best as I could. It has worked fine for me.

Glad to hear that @marguicha when dad was diagnosed with Hodgkns disease he was already in stage 4 so little could be done, none the less they gave him radiation and chemo.

Sometimes it is hard not to worry. However, it never seems to help anything!

@DeborahDiane It never helps.. so why worry? Its just another emotion to be mastered.

I am the poster child for worry. And it has never helped at all, that I recall. If we can "plan" about it rather than worry, that at least would be productive.

@ThankyouLord I am surprised taht with a user name like that you call yourself a poster child of worry.. Cast your burdens unto Jesus, come to me all you who are heavy ladened and I'll give you rest.. Where there is trust there is no worry is one of the priceless lessons I learned in my faith walk.

Sometimes I can't help but be a worrier also but I know it is not good and will not help in anyway so I'm trying very hard to avoid this bad habit. God does not want us to worry so whenever I am tempted to worry, I always pray and ask God to take care of the situation.

@salonga He says do not be afraid , do not worry , do not be anxious over and over again. Where there is faith there is no worry.. cast your cares unto Jesus for he cares for you. I can go on quoting, but I guess you know.. I want you to remember this my friend..
Faith cancels fear, fear cancels faith.

It is a natural reaction when one does not know what to expect.

@sofssu If it was that easy then the word worry would not have been in the dictionary But must say I have got over it after a lot of analysis.

@allknowing Natural as long as we allow our emotions and imagination to take over our rational thinking.

I worry a lot, so much so that the doctor says I have anxiety. I can't stop the what if's from entering my brain and just sitting there, one after another. Worrying doesn't help, and I know that, but getting it to stop has never been something I've been very good at.

@fawkes62 Shannon there isn't much to it.. its actually easy to learn to stop anxiety bt practicing relaxation techniques. I use a simple one.. I imagine a beautiful calm place, placid waters, dragon flies hovering above, green meadows, the tinkling of cow bells and lambs playing around.. I see myself lying on the grass and relaxing.. and stay there until I feel calm.. Then I plan on what can be done in that situation. Yes, it takes practice.. but its easy.
