Something's not right...

I've talked about a lady I know from Facebook, she isn't a friend in real life, just on there. Her husband was always a truck driver, not necessarily for big name companies, but that's what he has done mostly over the years.
A few months ago he had heart problems and was told to lay off working. According to his wife he has had 7 heart attacks (I still don't quite know if that's possible and still be alive or not!)
She stated quite clearly he was not to return to driving. She had to go to work which I'm sure was something quite foreign to her. Then out of the blue she quit her job (which she seemed to enjoy) and the reason was he was working again.
Being nosy I asked what kind of job and I wasn't all that surprised at the answer - driving a truck. He just got back from a rather long road trip. How does a man who was told by his doctor to stop driving trucks think its OK to do so? What kind of outfit hired him? Don't they get background info on new drivers? Don't they have to have an official truck license which means meeting certain criteria?
If I had a clue who he was working for I would probably ask them those questions.

Truck driving and heart attacks. Gives me the willies. The brother nearest to me in age was a trucker. He talked about feeling kind of wonky around Thanksgiving but hey he was only in his early 40s so he continued driving a big rig down a major freeway. It was his job. Two days before Christmas they found him deceased in the cab of the truck, in a farmer's yard. The company must have had him go to docs for yearly exams but no one caught his heart issues.

For some people, work is their life, and maybe he was going into depression or something for laying off work. Maybe he was declared fit. Who knows. But it's probably best for him not to take too much stress.

LOL . . the woman may be exaggerating the illness of her husband. 7 heart attacks?! Still physically fit to drive a truck?! I don't think so!

And the funny thing is, she is always sick and so are her kids. Three kids an each week one is out of school.

Maybe his commercial driver's license hadn't expired yet, and he didn't tell the other company why he quit?

With him having had so many heart attacks over a short amount of time i would have probably not returned to work being him but when you are the type of person to always be on the go doing something that you enjoy its hard to do. As for the people who employed him they probably don't do really thorough checks on the employees.

I hope that he was signed off and ok by the doctors, but yes, that is a bit scary! I think I might have worked a bit longer myself and put money back, just incase the whole thing happened again,

It's pretty scary to think that man is on the road and possibly endangering the lives of others while he's behind the wheel.
