I had to go outside and check things out. The neighbor has a green light bulb on his porch. Mom says this honors veterans. I do not think I have seen it anywhere else. While outside I enjoyed chasing the leaves, and watching all kinds of birds. It was fine as long as I was still. I headed out towards some though and one chased me!! Right back to the tree I lay under. Why can kitties not be like raccoons and have opposable thumbs? I know where the kitty treats are, and if I could get hold of the drawer handle I would pull it open. I am also tall enough to reach the top of the cat food container, I stood up and had my arms around the lid, but I could not get a grip. Had to wait for mom both times. She is not generous with the treats. I would eat them all, at one time, then go puke in the corner. I am a kitty, I cannot salute, but thank you to the veterans today. It is a good day. Almost every day is a good day, when you have the things that matter.

I've never met Princess kitty before . I hope I see her often. It was a nice way to start the day.

Princess became a celebrity during my move because she rode Dad's car out the driveway at the old place and fell off. We speculate she either became disoriented from a head injury or got locked in a shed somewhere. She was gone four days, and lost a lot of weight, hence the treats and spoiling her a lot. When she came back she started adding to my discussions.

@PainsOnSlate Quite a few of us on here have real cats or dogs that participate.

@GardenGerty I love that she is a real cat and not just a story from your imagination.

It probably won't be long until kitty figures out how to open the drawer.

I am seriously considering moving the treats. It will lesson her interest in my desk and I will have to get up to go give her some, more movement for me then.

@GardenGerty That might be a good idea. Once she realizes that the treats aren't there anymore, she will lose interest.

The roomie was tossing treats to the brats and Pong came up and stuck his head in the container... typical.

She would do that given half a chance. She does try to fish some out with her paw if i am not careful.

Hello Princesse, I have a friendly kitty who comes every day to visit, he also love the treats I give him and he would eat the full box, but it's not good for your health to eat everything.

"Sometimes I gobble too many too fast. Then mom or dad has a mess to clean up. Guess that is why mom is so stingy with the treats.

I had told hubby to get one, but he does not really seem to be interested. He is a veteran, though.

If they had opposable thumbs we'd all be obsolete.

Never chase a blue jay, they have no fear and will chase and peck at you. Plus, their call is annoying and shrill. You may have to think up some tricks if you want to get more treats.

My trick seems to be hiding from the mockingbird. That is what mom said it was. I guess I am a Halloween kitty after all, doing tricks for treats.

Cats remind me of that cartoon "Pinky and the Brain", they rule the world!

Good morning Princess Kitty! I'm glad that you got to frolic outside for a little bit this morning. Don't ever wish that you were a racoon, racoons cannot come into your Momma's house like you can, and imagine how much you'd miss her and Daddy! I'm proud of you that you will recognize your 2 minutes of silence later on this morning. We need to remember those that gave so much so that all of us (racoons too) can enjoy this freedom.

As long as mom does not prop the door open the raccoons will stay out and the possums too. I do not want to share my food and water dishes with them. I am a fine patriotic cat.

I have a black cat, she is 15 and still looks and acts like a kitten. She is rather small and vocal. She does not like the dogs and prefers to live in seclusion away from them, but pokes her nose under the door to get them riled at her.

Princess, you sound a very clever cat. My pet sheep knows what's needed to get the gate open but he doesn't have opposible thumbs either and he can't quite get a grip with his teeth or he'd be out his paddock in a shot.
