Eye color may tell you more than you realize

I found an interesting post on yahoo this morning. According to the post eye color can predict certain diseases that you are more likely to have.
Do you know that people with dark eyes, specifically brown, are more prone to develop cataracts? I did not.
Vitiligo, the loss of skin color, is less likely to effect people with blue eyes.
On the other hand, people with blue eyes are more susceptible to melanoma.
Next time you go out drinking, if you have brown eyes, watch out. You might be more sensitive to alcohol than your blue-eyed friends.
This next fact, I found very interesting. They say that women with blue eyes have more tolerance to pain.
People with blue eyes are said to have more susceptibility to age-related macular degeneration. My husband has blue eyes and age related macular degeneration.
I don't know how true these little finding are but I found them fascinating.

So that's what they're called. I went to one once on a dare and I was really surprised about how much she knew about my sensitivities to some foods, she actually recommended I avoid those very foods and then she also mentioned that I should avoid chemicals because they would cause me skin irritation.
I knew all that going in but I never told her anything about that before I saw her.

@rebelann I guess you were a bit impressed after your visit
I think they do quite an intensive course. It's like reflexologists (the ones that manipulate your feet) being able to tell what's wrong with you. There is such a lot we don't know about the body and diagnosis, isn't there?

@HazySue Hum, I wonder if that is a good or bad sign!

@AbbyGreenhill I should think these are the most common eye colours. Iridologists would look for little flecks of this or that colour within the general colour. That's what I've picked up anyway.

@AbbyGreenhill unfortunately they left out information about green, eyes, grey eyes, and hazel eyes.

Well, I do have macula degeneration, but I have a very low tolerance to pain with my blue eyes
Interesting article, though.

I think some of those facts are true. I have blue eyes and a high tolerance for pain. My mother has blue eyes and no tolerance for pain at all.
