A Childhood Christmas Photo

In my previous post I mentioned how we were going to be planning our Christmas seafood platter today, as getting the order in early means we'll get what we want.
Then, when I came on to the main computer, I found this photo taken Christmas of 1953, of my brother, sister and I. It's not very clear, but I'm hoping it will upload okay. You can see the crayfish, pineapple and fresh fruit - all quite luxuries back then in those days.
That wasn't our main dinner table of course, but my Dad wanted a photo and the old camera didn't take photos inside very well then. By the way, in case you hadn't guessed, I'm the one all decked out in ribbons

I enlarged it and can see the pineapple but not the crawfish but I believe they are there! You were what about 3 or 4?

@AbbyGreenhill Crayfish are what you call lobsters! To the left of the pineapple.

@valmnz What we call crayfish (crawfish) mud bugs - in the USA they are tiny about 3-4 inches long.

Great memories indeed. Happy that we can all upload them here. We always went to a studio for that and not many that we knew had cameras in my days.

@valmnz You talk a lot of your father and your association with him.

@allknowing I think I was Dad's girl, until my baby sister came along. He was a big influence in my life even after that. I think I'm a little like him.

It's odd seeing a Christmas dinner outside, I know it's a thing for many, but I grew up with blizzards!

@Jessicalynnt no, though some of us do take our holidays in winter to avoid the summer rush.

What a lovely photo. I remember Dad lashing out and buying a special camera so he could photos of horses jumping. With our old camera, they'd just be a blur. Then you'd have a 12 or 20 shot film and it would have to go to the chemist then be mailed to Perth then the prints mailed back a week or so later. Goodness, I am sounding old!

haha, LOVE those old photographs. If the weather permits we will be having our Thanksgiving feast out under the oak tree this year. I've never had seafood for Christmas but I like that idea.
