Do You Go Back and Correct Your Comments

I am beginning to think I am OCD. Well, okay I have always known I was a little that way but now I find that when I go back through my comments I see mistakes I made and I have to correct them. I tell myself chances are no one else will notice them at this point but I find I can't control the urge to want to be perfect. Anyone else suffering from this need to be grammatically correct?

I always amend any mistakes that I encounter. Even if I came across one on a discussion from years ago I would feel obliged to correct it.

@BelleStarr It irritates me to see such errors because I have a good command of English and prefer to be grammatically correct.

If I notice that I made a mistake, I edit the comment and I correct. The problem is that most of the time I do not notice.

I have been trying to go back and look over all the comments and likes on my posts, as much as I can.

I don't know what OCD means. Foreigners aren't good at abbreviations. I always go through my comments again. I know that my English is quite good and sometimes people compliment me on it. But I'm sure that if they see a typo, they'll think, "A foreigner. She doesn't know better,"

OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder sorry I thought it was a disorder that everyone knew. Your English is excellent. I just type fast and make errors.

@MALUSE If our German was half as good as your English...that might give us that right, but I don't even consider you a foreigner

I am the world's worse speller and I type too fast to be accurate so yes, when I read what I posted as a comment I often edit it to fix my goofs. I like perfection but not always...

If I manage to find my mistakes, I always correct them. I don't even think if anyone else is going to notice it, but once I found it, I think I should just make it right.

There have been some that I noticed I needed to correct and so I did correct them. Ther are others, that I know I have totally missed. I do try to correct my mistakes as I type them, but then again, I submit some with mistakes and all, and it isn't until I see them again, that I realized I had made mistakes. I don't get them all corrected though, as some of the mistakes are minimal, and mylot isn't looking for spelling errors, as we still get paid.

@BelleStarr Yea, I know what you mean, as it has happened to me as well. I see them later and realize that I missed such silly mistakes. Most of the time I do try to correnct them as I do the comments, so that I don't have to edit the comment and fix them later.

I do cringe however when I see that I have made silly ones that I should have caught when I wrote them.

If i noticed that i have gone a bit to much in my comment , i edit it . Sometimes , when we write it seems that the thoughts just flow naturally , so we have to limit it though .

if I had the competence and skills to know that my grammar is incorrect, probably I would. btw you did it to your self or you have the urge too to correct someone else's, if you have the chance?

Yes, I have done it on a few occasions, but only if I have to go back to see what I said and see it. I don't go looking through all my comments to see if I 'typo-ed'.

If someone makes a reply and I see where I have made a typo then I will correct it but I do not go back and look for mistakes as we all make them so I figure no big deal.

It bothers me though which I think is a little OCD on this site since there is no penalty for errors. When I am getting paid for my articles they must be perfect.

I've fixed a few before, but i'm sure the ones that are real bad have passed me by already. I don't mind if someone wants to point those things out either, although it's more necessary on posts. Since we can edit comments, it makes sense to fix errors when we see them, so I don't think that's too weird. Course, it depends on whether you're looking for errors or happen upon them and how much extra time you have for that task.
